They just want your money. out of the entire office, Deja is the ONLY one who actually cares and takes action where she can. I recently moved out of Abbington West End Apartments after my lease came to an end. I would like to share my disappointing experience with the management and the unjustified charges I faced upon departure. Firstly, I left the apartment in impeccable condition, ensuring that everything was well-maintained and any minor issues were promptly addressed during my tenancy. I booked a appointment for a move out inspection which no one turned up for. However, to my absolute surprise, the management claimed that they had replaced the carpet and vinyl in the unit, which was simply not the case. It is disheartening to be falsely accused of damage that never occurred, especially considering the care I put into maintaining the apartment during my stay. Not only were the charges unjustifiable, but the management's handling of the situation was unprofessional and lacking transparency. Instead of engaging in an open and honest discussion about the alleged damages, they immediately deducted money from my deposit and now demand an additional $600. The lack of communication and unwillingness to provide evidence or clarification for their claims is deeply concerning. I believe in fairness and integrity, and this experience at Abbington West End Apartments has left a sour taste in my mouth. As a resident who consistently paid rent on time and took care of the property, I am disappointed by the lack of respect and professionalism displayed by the management team. I urge potential residents to be cautious when considering Abbington West End Apartments as their choice of accommodation. Be vigilant in documenting the condition of the unit upon moving in and moving out, and ensure you thoroughly review the terms of the lease agreement. In response to the owner's comment: Your team spoke to me in July but nothing additional was done. In response to notifying in a timely manner, I came to the leasing office and spoke to someone in January. After that, I emailed and place maintenance requests every single month. Due to covid, the in-person office was closed and I was not able to come into the office anymore but I had been communicating for seven months with your team about the pest problems. Also, the situation was never rectified, I just ended up moving. ***Please be extremely careful moving in here. I received a bill for hundreds of dollars upon moving out. None of the receptionists know what they're doing, nor do they have the ability to help you whatsoever, and honestly sound clueless. Yelp is the first place where i see an accurate rating for this place. I mean, it's not the worst, but the quality of the townhomes and the quality of the leasing staff brings it down all the way. I'm very convinced they give incentives to those who post a positive review- I've definitely been approached by rental properties before so they can meet a quota. They don't deserve 4-5 stars at all. It doesn't seem authentic. Anyway, if you want to get ahold of the leasing office, your best bet is to storm up there. If you call the resident line - they never answer. If you call future resident line - immediate answer. They are neglectful to those who actually pay money to live there. It took 2 months for them to come latch a hole in the kitchen wall. How did the hole get there you ask? An ANIMAL chewed its way into the kitchen. It never came out of the hole - but you could hear it crawling around and we would temporarily patch it with bags. The animal would pull it into the wall for nesting. After 2 full months of complaints - they patch it and ask "do you need pest control?" I DONT KNOW- DO I???? They also don't send out notices for when you move out. I've always received courtesy notices and detailed information about pricing if I were to renew lease or stay until the end of month. I sent in my notice and come July - they ramped up the last 2 weeks by $400. I asked for them to push my move out date to my actual lease end date - and they said no because "we sent out the statements already". BUT they acknowledged that someone should have told me, but it's "in my lease" and to pretty much get over it. There's high turnover in that office so I'm sure it's hard to get anything done. But, all in all, this property sucks and I really don't have anything nice to say about it. They are also rude unless you're a future resident. The current property manager is a brat and needs to work on her customer service skills. She treats her leasing agents like crap and she's inauthentic. Don't move here! read more

The place is ok but in the 8 months we've been here all of our problems have been "brushed to the side" Is the best way to put it. Moving in we had a flea infestation with no previous pets, leasing office swore we brought them but the neighbors filled us in how the previous owners lived... moving in please know that you get one assigned parking spot. That means if someone permanently parks their car that they don't use in one of those spots and they're three other cars and motorcycle in the other guest spots then you simply cannot have guest and the apartment complex will say there is nothing they can do about it. This used to be a nice place but since the past year and a half, there have been 3 murders in the apartment complex. (It's Public Record if you want to confirm). I have lived there for 5 years and it has gotten worse . The manager by the name of Deja is very unprofessional. And she handles situations with a retaliatory attitude. If you bring anything to her about herself and staff she WILL find a way to act back. For example. I received a 6 notifications, 3 via email and 3 via text message, to renew my lease but in the mix of that, I was in dispute with the property manager Deja and I filed a complaint rightfully so. There were issues with the lease renewal online. And I brought it to her and the other reps in the office attention. I was told by Deja to my face that I would be getting my renewal once the system was working again. Instead if corporate returning my call in regards to my complaint they just forwarded it to her instead. Which I feel is redundant to even reach out to corporate when all they gonna do is just send the message to whoever you are filing a complaint on. Corporate never called me to even address my concerns. But Deja did call me and after it was brought to her attention that I took my concern above her I received a lease renewal termination. I had nothing but issues with this property, from neighbors to the racist office staff. #ApartmentAlex called the cops on me after complaining to her about the excess number of people loitering in my area and my suspecting that they lived there but wasn't on the lease. That wouldn't have been so much of a problem, if there wasn't late night loitering, finding my door unlocked (after checking and rechecking to make sure it was locked the previous night) as a single person living in the residence, to one neighbor harboring jailbirds, to the other neighbor blaring music late at night to the cockroach infestation. Not only that, my fiance's truck was broken into and another of his cars was totaled by an unlicensed, underaged and under the influence individual in the community. Don't let the exterior and the landscape fool you. The interior of the apartments are old and were supposedly renovated, however, minimally. I'm talking built in the 1970s old. Bypass this property and go where you matter and you don't have to worry about roaches, fleas or your safety!!! The office staff is going to respond to this message, just as they did before in other reviews across different platforms, stating that I have left numerous negative and false posts about this property, as if I do not have a right to leave a negative review and as if I don't have the recording of #ApartmentAlex malicious phone call. They don't want potential renters to know they will call the police if you inquire about the loitering on the property. They just want me to move past the trauma, that they created and what's worse is that #ApartmentAlex never apologized to my face. I paid a $40.00 application fee, and a $150.00 reservation fee. A walkthrough was scheduled the day before my move in , however , the property wasn't move in ready , therefore , I requested to cancel everything . I was informed that none of my money would be refunded to me . Not professional at all . The parking was awful, they have too many people living in each unit and too many broke down cars that never move. When I moved in my carpet was already very worn/old but when I moved out they charged me $600.00 for excessive carpet wear and some other little bogus fees. If you have to rent an apartment find a better place because Abbington West (AKA Wistar Village Apartments) is GHETTO. It looks decent from the outside but after you live there you'll see what I'm taking about. They slap some paint on the walls and updated they appliances but it's still GHETTO Wistar Village. They keep blocking my review on google, but this is hands down the worst apartment complex you could possibly rent from. First of all, parking is an absolute SHIT SHOW. You are assigned 1 single parking spot, and if someone happens to park their unused car in a guest spot long term, then you're out of luck in terms of extra parking, and they will do nothing about it. The state of our apartment when we moved in was absolutely horrendous! There were holes in the floor and walls, the floor is extremely uneven, there was a bug infestation which we did not bring, then they tried to make us pay for the treatment claiming that it was our fault (when the neighbors confirmed it was in fact not us). Maintenance does not knock and came right in while my boyfriend was sleeping and he woke up to them in the apartment with no warning. Good luck if you call maintenance because they will never fix your problem and most likely make it worse. When you call the office they are extremely dismissive (if they even answer the phone), don't take the time to help you with anything, and are not friendly. Management will claim they want to help but never follow up on anything... ever. The prices are absolutely ridiculous for the condition of these apartments. The experience living there was comfortable but at the end of our lease we were suppose to get a refund check and we never got it. It has been three months and we still haven't received it. All I have to say is drive by this place at night or in the evening after work! Sketch! The neighborhoods surrounding this community are very run down and almost in the ghetto. The community itself is nice, extremely friendly staff, great amenities, and affordable. Unfortunately, I chose not to live here after seeing how much foot traffic came through this community in the evening and the people hanging around outside these townhomes. Wish it would've worked out but it just didn't seem safe. Also, a lot of middle-school aged kids who go all over the neighborhood in yards that don't belong to them with no parental supervision. read more

I was not happy with my unit. A lot of that has to do with my rush to move out of Executive housing which was causing me to make rushed decisions. Anyway I had some issues but I will say that being able to voice my concerns and my complaints was great. I think that the mgmt team has been very patient and helpful. Were able to come up with a solution. When I first moved in Thomas left a great impression on me. Working with Victoria has been great. So although I was not happy in the beginning I ended up happy in the end thanks to their team. read more

I've lived in this area my entire life and have never had a worse living experience. Very sketchy neighborhood, lots of noise, police are here almost every day arresting people for domestic abuse fights/drugs. I've been witnessed to this on multiple occasions. THE Noise level is absolutely ridiculous and I used to live on Main Street across from Sidewalk Cafe if that gives you any indication of my tolerance. Rent is overpriced for the quality and they seem to have a sewer/water drainage issue. Lots of mosquitos and bugs too in the house because it's essentially built on a swamp. I wholeheartedly warn you to steer clear of renting here. They also have a program called, Gateway, where they place ex cons into housing. So not the safest area either from my personal experience as a woman. I've dealt with a lot of sketchy older men street harassing me/watching to see where I live and knocking on my door late at night when they see my partner is not at home. I have lived here 5 years and used to never have problems until recently. (I did move from one side of the complex to the other) I have recently had occasions where neighbors have had things stolen out of their cars, cars stolen and even seen people lurking into our cars to steal. Its been pretty sketchy within the past few months. I contacted the front office and they said, "oh really, I was not aware, I am sorry to hear that." Not very satisfying considering I could go to any apartment complex in the West end and pay $1100 for a 1 bedroom apartment and live safely without dealing with this ruckus. I even had neighbors house raided by the police a week ago and supposedly the front office was not aware of that either. Please be aware of what you are getting into before you sign the lease. Place One is government funded housing and they are right across the street from us!!!! To say the least, Abbington West End has done nothing to ease the worries of a hard working apartment tenant whom stays to herself and just wants to be safe in her own home. :( read more
