Came out fast. Had to find the leak and fixed it the same day. Pricing was reasonable and good job done. Will recommend highly.

Christina diagnosed the source of the leak - condensation from the dryer vent - and after taking a look both inside and outside the house, she suggested a few ways to fix the issue. She did not charge for the visit. She was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. It goes without saying, I'd highly recommend Brian B. Quick Plumbing for your plumbing needs.

The plastic piston snapped off the plastic piece that keeps it solidly attached. They wanted SIX HUNDRED BUCKS to fix it when I can buy a new toilet for $250 and have it installed for $100. Or I could just buy the kit for $30. But here's what REALLY galled me: in the past--EVERY TIME I hired a plumber--he did the work; I paid him; and he left. This time, I felt like a cold business transaction: he wasn't interested in wasting time on the work, only on finding a richer, stupider client to fleece for $800. Ironically, had he quoted $195--an outrageous $50 for the part and an outrageous $145 for his time--I wouldn't have complained. Jacqueline K. Featherfuck! This is SOMETHING NEW: they don't behave like PLUMBERS, but like PLUMBING MAGNATES. I understand that tradesmen are in business to make money. But the attitude here was clearly, "We're here to make BIG bucks, and--if it suits our fancy--we'll also fix your problem." Plus, consider the BUSINESS IMBECILITY of just SKIPPING clients for richer ones: they're turning down A LOT of work and wasting technicians' time, gasoline, and vehicular wear and tear.

New pressure valve didn't have a gauge. - Faucet leaked, connection inside wall leaked. Plumber didn't actually test anything the first time. - Plumber returned, tried to say it wasn't dripping but eventually agreed it was and tried to fix it (It still leaks). - Plumber became very defensive, condescending and stand-offish when asked to justify the bill. ($509 for 20 minutes to install a $45 valve? And he's already at my house, it's not a separate call). - Plumber kept insisting that I needed to understand that a person can go online and get parts for a lot less than Ben Franklin Plumbing. If that's true, they need a better wholesale supplier. When asked what the Ben Franklin hourly labor rate was, he said they don't have one but he spent 4 hours on this job. He includes time to drive here and time to go get a part he should've already had. Fair enough. He said he got to the office at 8:30, drove to my house, and left at 12:30. My job was his FIRST APPOINTMENT. This is significant because my "Wait Around for the Plumber" window was 8-11am. I was waiting for the plumber before he even got to the office (45 minutes away). He got here at 9:15. Aside from that, he didn't leave at 12:30. The bill was emailed to me at 12:20 - and this was some time after he left. Plumber tried to explain their "pricing" one last time. When he saw I wasn't buying it, he says "I'm outta here" and abruptly leaves my house, drives away, and leaves me to clean up his mess (no, it's not a big mess, but it's also not mine). Bottom line, the connection in the wall still leaks. I'd call for a THIRD visit but I simply can't allow this gentleman in my house again. A supervisor called for "my side" of the story and said she would talk to the manager and get back to me. She asked if I had been told prices up front. I said yes, I trusted your company to do the job correctly and be fair. I was wrong. It's been 2 weeks, I've heard nothing. Why 2 stars? I had a couple VERY good experiences with this company a couple years ago.

Culligan did a terrible job with piping, I had no idea what i was looking at. Culligan wanted to charge a crazy high price to come out and check the water without servicing the system itself. The tech from Benjamin Franklin, Billy, was amazing, extremely knowledgeable, pleasant and professional! He walked my partner and I through what we had, showed us the test results of our water, quoted us different packages and after we picked what we wanted he got right to work that same day. Our system was installed in a few hours, Billy checked in on us to make sure we were happy with the set up of our Brita Pro system and we couldn't be more thrilled with the result. Their service and professionalism is top notch and by no means did we feel like we were being taken advantage of like we felt with competitive companies like Culligan who reminded me of car salesmen. Highly recommended!

They were rude, dismissive and unaccommodating when I requested a visit back to my home when a problem surfaced in my bathtub plumbing less than 24 hours after the work they'd finished. Their response to me was basically - 'couldn't be our fault because of the other problems you've had with your pipes.' That may have been a possibility but the timing of the new issue at least warranted a look-see. They refused to stand by their work. I had to call another plumber to take a look and they said they could have quoted me a price of $435 for the work Ben Franklin had charged me $1235. My fault. I saw their reviews on Yelp too late, most of which noted their overcharging. They also aren't accredited by the Better Business Bureau. For a business its clients need to be able to trust, that's a huge miss. They have left me no choice other than a call to a lawyer if the new problem does turn out to have been caused by their work. A visit back would have been the right thing to do. They could not have cared less.

Hello All, I have used Gold Medal Service, (Plumbing) in the…read morepast, specifically for clearing clogs in our kitchen sink. They did a decent job at a very fair price. With this in mind, I recently had a problem with the bathroom sink cold water supply line. I called Gold Medal asking to send a plumber to do the repair. Specifically, the shut off handle had broken and I knew the whole valve needed to be replaced. (I have been a home owner for the past 50 years). (The home in question is 23 years old). The person I spoke to said that their was a $99.00 charge for the plumber to come to the house. If the plumber completes the service needed the $99.00 charge is applied to the final bill. The onsite plumber is responsible for providing to the customer the final cost/estimate of the work required. Thinking that to change the valve with no foreseeable complications would be a 15-30 minute job, and I was thinking cost in the $200.00-$300.00 range, I agreed to have a plumber come to my home. The plumber arrived and I showed him the problem, he agreed that a new water supply line valve was needed. In that bathroom the fixtures, supply lines, etc are all Polished Brass. He explained that he would have to order that. I said Ok, not a problem. I then asked for the final cost to do the job. He looked at his IPad, and said " $891.00. I said your kidding right"? He said, "oh I see your a veteran, we can take 10% off". I then said " that's only 89.00, the final bill will still be over $800.00 before the state tax is even applied". I said no way can I pay that amount of money. He then said, "well I have to charge you the $99.00 anyway". So I took out my credit card and he ran the charge. The next day I went to the Plumbing Supply House near my home, I took pictures of the water supply valve in question and bought a replacement part for $9.00. I called other plumbers in my area and one agreed to do the replacement for $175.00. My objection to this with Gold Medal is that you are at the mercy of the on site Plumber, his/her quote can be anything, fair or outrageous, and if its beyond what you know is a fair price or even beyond your ability to pay, you still have to pay the $99.00. Being a senior citizen, a home owner of 50 years I just knew that the price they wanted was way beyond fair. I just wanted other folks to be aware of this unfair charge BEFORE you call them for potential service.
