With the fall TV season just around the corner, there are ABC billboards everywhere in Los Angeles. FlashForward really seems to be the new show they are pushing. There is also an ABC billboard for Courtney Cox's Cougar Town near where I live. It is definitely not the busiest intersection. I haven't seen another Cougar Town billboard anywhere in Los Angeles so maybe they aren't giving it that much of a push. I can't really blame them. With a name like Cougar Town, I can't imagine it lasting very long. Just imagine an entertainment reporter saying, "And the top shows this week according to Nielsen ratings were Dancing With The Stars, American Idol, Grey's Anatomy, House, and Cougar Town." ABC's best show is Lost. Lost really went through a phase where it really seemed to be going sideways (just teasing the audience with "might mean this, might mean that" and not moving the story forward). The creators/producers though have gotten the show back on track. I'm really looking forward to next season (which is the final one). In terms of guilty pleasures, ABC has two of the better ones in The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Each show has been able to maintain decent Nielsen ratings. In fact, in recent years, they have shown some growth, which is a testament to ABC keeping the show fresh and bringing in interesting people (contestants). In my book, out of all the reality show hosts, you can't beat Chris Harrison. ABC's big plus is college football. They have great coverage of Pac-10 games (as well as Big 12 and Big 10), and they do a very good job with the BCS games in January. I do wish ABC's Keith Jackson was still in the booth. He had a great, distinguishable voice; he was also probably the most knowledgeable play-by-play announcer in the game. read more

Grey's Anatomy and Ugly Betty have lost me as a viewer. I don't have the patience to sit through Good Morning America with my mother. I got sucked into the watching the first episode of True Beauty while waiting to leave my boyfriend's house. I prefer Eyewitness News or World News with Charles Gibson. Sometimes I still watch Jeopardy, Lost, and Wheel of Fortune. read more

I can't believe abc and other networks have decided we need to hear someone telling us what we're watching. I'm done with sitcoms

Went to the ABC Studios for a movie screening. It is located within the Walt Disney Studios complex. Everything here is so clean and beautiful. Parking was easy in their underground garage. Staff was so friendly and helpful, from the guards at the gate to the employees inside directing us where to go (as we were a bit lost). The screening room is quaint and comfortable. It seats 100 and is beautifully appointed with nice acoustics. The entire experience was really great! read more

This review probably belongs on Bone the Fish, but I'll leave it here anyway. ABC used to rule prime time, at least when I was a kid growing up. That Tuesday night line up with Happy Days, Three's Co., and Hart To Hart was a killer. Jiggle queens, Charley's Angels, and a couple of other good shows on Thursday. It seemed like they put a James Bond movie on every 2 weeks on Sundays. If you liked football, then every once in a while, you'd get a Sunday Night Football game, followed by Monday Night Football, and their A-troops. So, herein lies the gravamen of my case. I don't like how MNF got moved to ESPN. Yes, its their sports sister network, but for sports enthusiast like me, its like moving the Thanksgiving parade to USA network, or another cable channel. MNF was a tradition, and they've cheapened it by moving it. Ok, you're probably never going to quite replicate the days of Cosell, Meredith, and Gifford, but could they try at least to put it back on ABC. Not everybody likes Dancing With The Hasbeens, or the IQ robbing Bachelor.The way networks go through sitcoms, and dramas, you could easily put the two programs on nights where something is gonna be cancelled anyway. MNF is an institution, just like election night, or one of the New Years eve countdowns. Bad enough, they used to have a baseball game of the week on the networks. If ABC could get both these back it'd be the living end for we sports fans. read more

As a long time fan of All My Children, I was very disappointed when ABC cancelled the show. Then I heard rumblings that Prospect Park was going to save the show on-line. I found it to be very curious, that getting information about the continuation of the show was near to impossible to find. But I persevered by continuously searching the internet for a start-up date from Prospect Park. I thought it VERY ODD that marketing was so poor and I worried that they would lose their fan base for the show because I wondered, "How are the fans going to know about the new show on Prospect Park?" After a long wait, All My Children was on again and I figured out how to watch the show through i-tunes by paying a fee, I thoroughly enjoyed watching the show again at my convenience. Now my show has been cancelled AGAIN even after an outstanding 1st season on Prospect Park. AND NOW I KNOW WHY IT FAILED AND WHY MARKETING WAS SO POOR FOR THE RESURRECTION OF THE SHOW. And so here is what I want to say to ABC... Dear ABC, I was shocked and so disappointed that you cancelled my show. You tried to replace my show with a cooking show so that you could try and compete with the Food Network. (please note...there are enough cooking shows out there already!) And then you deliberately kept Prospect Park from succeeding in their endeavor by limiting and at times, BLOCKING their marketing plans. It is so obvious that you did not want Prospect Park to succeed. Instead of being loyal to the fans of your show for so long and helping to keep the show alive, YOU BECAME THE COMPETITION by putting your efforts into your remaining soap opera, General Hospital. I am so disappointed in you as a network. You have lost your integrity. You appear to be desperate as you compete with cable and now on-line. You clearly need new leadership and a new vision on how to compete in this ever-changing media. read more
