In late 2025, Disney begat Hulu from Comcast at the cost of $439 million, after Disney begat Fox (in 2019, I think). Soon Hulu will no longer be a stand-alone entity streamer, because it will be totally consumed by Disney, who begat ABC as well. Oh, and Disney begat ESPN, FX, National Geographic, A&E, Lifetime channel, Free-form, History channel, etc. They call themselves "Disney PLUS" now. Can you keep up? No worries, me neither. I receive the Disney / Hulu channels as part of my DirecTV subscription. I tried watching 'High Potential', an interesting series but there was a 2 minute commercial for every 2 minutes of show. I canceled my Disney subscription because of the Kimmel Fiasco but when Disney did the right thing and brought him back I renewed my subscription . However, all of my taped programs were deleted and when I called Disney and Hulu to see if they could do anything about that I got the runaround . Clearly there has to be a software way to bring back those programs but instead we are being punished for Disney's violation of the First Amendment . When I spoke with Disney representative Amber she tried to tell me that she didn't even have a supervisor I could talk to and that there was simply nothing that could be done . I am paying for Hulu, Max and Disney channel with no ads. I have been watching Disney bluey and others and it has ads, so I called them and they said some programs want ads in it. This is stupid as we are paying for no ads and yet they still have shows with ads. They should not charge you then if This is the case and allow certain ones to keep ads in the program we are watching. This is not fair for them to do this and collect the extra money. read more

Customer service was not helpful. Did not understand our problem. Probably didn't care to understand. We have multiple profiles stealing our account. Changing the language on our programming. We of course responded negatively towards their responding emails and follow up requests. read more

This complaint relates to Disney+ and how the company makes it impossible for the customer to cancel his or her subscription. Disney+ deliberately has designed its website, its chatbot experience, and its customer support (live person) experience so as to make it practically impossible to cancel despite the customer's adamantly-expressed wish to cancel. This is fraud and theft, committed by what was formerly an honorable company run by honorable and honest people. Don't subscribe, and, if you subscribe and find it impossible to cancel, complain to the BBB, on Yelp, and to California legal authorities to end a deceptive and dishonest business practice which merits a class action lawsuit. read more

I can't count the number of times I've heard, "You're too old for this crap." "Can you BE any more immature?" "Do you REALLY watch this stuff?" "Don't you have better things to do?" Well, WHATEVER. Call me crazy, call me immature. I don't care. I LOVE THE DISNEY CHANNEL! Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, Life with Derek, Suite Life, and Sonny with a Chance are just a few of the shows I actually DVR for my PERSONAL viewing pleasure. I've also watched all of the High School Musicals at least ten times, as well as all the other lesser known Disney Channel movies, such as Jump It, Wendy Wu, Camp Rock, and all the others. My favorite "in between" shows are Pass the Plate (a great show to teach people about other cultures and how we share similarities!), Little Big Show, and the mini music videos. Oh, and the "Cool Kids" thing is cool, too, the one where they show different kids around the world who do cool things. I love them all! I love the shows for their uncomplicated (and yeah, sometimes cheesy) humor, the great moral premises behind each episode, intercultural lessons and trivia, and the awesome, wholesome characters that kids today can relate to. Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Brenda Song, Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens (hey, don't knock it. Everyone makes dumb mistakes), Ashely Tisdale, Miley Cyrus, Emily Osment, Raven Simone, yadda yadda. So bummed that I have to stop my kids from watching all Disney Channel shows. I don't let my kids watch everything, it depends how much attitude the kids have, how stupid they make the patents look, etc. By far my favorite show has been Good Luck Charlie, we were sad to hear this is the last season but since watching the latest episode where Charlie has a playdate with her two mommies, I have had it. I was watching "the little Vampire" with my wife and children and there was a scene where the mom says "oh my God" and they muted the word God. Can you believe that? Since when did God become a bad word? I actually rewound it three times because I just couldn't believe it. I'm so disappointed. Broken hearted really. The current reviews of Disney Channel (DC) are dated. I was prompted to write one when my son came to me after watching an episode of "Jessie" to share a "joke" he'd just heard on the show. The joke was a line from Ravi (child adopted from India) where he states that he enjoys playing a card game but it reminds him of curry because he enjoys it in the beginning but always gets burned. In essence there is nothing wrong with this line, but when you put it in context with what DC has done with stereotyping, it is critical. For example, another character of this show is Zuri, a child adopted into this household at birth from "Africa" (DC does not bother to educate our children about which country in Africa Zuri was adopted from, but nevertheless, Zuri who was adopted by a Caucasian family at birth from Africa still exhibits the stereotypical tendencies of an African American young woman (the neck wagging, smart mouthing, sassyness that is constantly attributed to African Americans in the American media). I am horified that my child watches this channel. I can only talk to him about the contents and try to lead by example, because if I seek to block his viewing, he will only be more curious and find ways to watch outside my presence. Further my discussions with him have made him more aware of stereotyping, racism and prejudice and helps him in the development of his own critical thinking. The producers of these programs on DC are unimaginative, uncreative, unthinking and rely on old stereotypes to fill our children's heads, rather than using their very powerful access to its audience to teach some very real issues while at the same time being entertaining, but to do so would require talent and imagination. Try it Disney, you just might find yourselves more popular than ever. read more

I used to love the Disney Channel growing up. Even Stevens, Lizzy McGuire, Sister Sister, Boy Meets World, The Famous Jet Jackson, Phil of the Future, Smart Guy, and So Weird were all great shows. That's So Raven had me uncontrollably laughing. However, their current programming has really turned me off of the station. Hannah Montana, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and various other new shows simply are not that appealing or funny. Acting seems to have taken a hit and it just is not as good as it once was. I'm missing a LOT on my list. I LITERALLY LOVE ALL SHOWS PAST AND PRESENT ON DISNEY CHANNEL AND DISNEY XD. Those are just the Disney Channel and Disney XD shows. I also love Disney Junior, and don't care what others say about it!
