I am a lawyer in California and have done business with numerous process servers. I uploaded the documents on the ABC website and they were served in downtown New York City the next morning. It was incredibly fast. The proof of service they provided was not the one I sent them to fill out. It was one that the process created correcting two mistakes I had made. All this for $75 in Manhattan where you can't get lunch for $75. I am very pleased. I usually check Yelp reviews before I do business with anyone but I didn't do it with ABC. If I had I would not have used them. I have never seen so many negative reviews for a business on Yelp. If ABC wants to avoid future bad reviews they need to advertise their services as "satisfaction guaranteed or your money back". Then tell their independent contractor process servers that if a negative review is left on YELP due to negligence on their part they are history. ABC can respond to this review and let Yelp members know if they have made any policy changes. read more

I had to serve two people two different cities and I used someone else and abc. The other server did it basically the same day so simple but I'm on say 5-6 and still they can't do it. Oh their website they have a specific box for apartment number but since I used that box their system didn't give the server the unit number and they failed and wasted an attempt. The next attempt has been two days going on third and nothing. I spoke with three customer service reps that all said they would call be back with an update and not one called me back. We have had the worst experience with this company, without any recourse. We had a simple service request - serve one person on behalf of himself and on behalf of his entity, which he wholly owns. Same person, one address, easy. After several days, the process server uploaded a proof reflecting service on the individual, but said it was a bad address for the entity. We've tried multiple times to connect with them to figure out why the server didn't just serve him with both packets at the same time, but they refuse to call us back, and instead are insisting we provide a different address and an additional fee. We had another bad experience with them just not serving documents for over a week last year, and were giving them one last shot. We're now hiring a separate company to effectuate service and will need to take further action to recover the paid but unearned fees for the service that ABC failed to complete. Very disappointing experience. I paid for process serving and provided instructions during the intake process, including a note that the address I entered was not the business's physical location. Their system requires an address to be entered, which is why I included that information in the notes. Despite those instructions, the notes were ignored and service was attempted at the address I specifically indicated was not the correct location. When I contacted customer service, they acknowledged that my notes had been overlooked but refused to take any responsibility or provide a resolution, stating that because I entered the address, the failed service attempt was my responsibility. They ignored the fact that their system required an address and that I had clearly explained the situation in my instructions. The issue was never that service was difficult. The issue was that the instructions I provided were ignored, and when that mistake led to a failed attempt, there was no accountability and no effort to make it right. Extremely disappointed with ABC Legal. Their online support tickets and dashboard updates are useless. I hired a local PI who provided crucial information and suggested passing it to ABC Legal to keep costs lower than paying a PI for full field work--yet ABC Legal completely ignored it. My tickets, instructions, and follow-ups went unacknowledged. The only thing they corrected online was misspelling my name on the initial request. I actually had to call in directly to get any real movement because one of their documents even misspelled the defendant's name! A major nationwide entity shouldn't rely on clients to proofread court paperwork for basic errors before filing. The service is minimal at best and utterly unprofessional. If your case requires basic diligence, stakeouts, attention to detail, or even just serving court paperwork, do yourself a favor and hire a local process server or local PI instead. read more

I paid for a rush service and my document just kept getting reassigned by process servicers that were lying about their attempts which was proven by pictures and video surveillance. I brought my issues up via phone calls as well as using the online communication tool. None of my issues were ever resolved, even when I stepped in and tried to assist multiple times across a time span of about 2 to 3 weeks. There was no follow through by ABC Legal direct employees or the process servers working with them. No one was helpful during the process and I just kept getting pushed along to other people or told they would get back to me. No one ever did. I ended up having to cancel my order with ABC Legal and hiring someone else to do it. They were able to do it immediately (even at a lower cost). The representative told me that they could not provide me with a refund, even though they actually cost me much more in the long run just by giving them a chance. I do not recommend this business. I placed an order to rush to get a process server last Tuesday. I paid extra to have it done in 3 days. This notice had to be posted no later than this morning by 8am. When I checked the website there was no updates so I called the company. They said they could not get a process server but never let me know and I have a contractor that needed to work on this rental at 8am tomorrow. Now we have lost a day to their incompetence. They never notified me and I could have hired another company to serve our tenant. Do not use this company. You cannot get a hold of a supervisor or a manager to help solve problems. read more

***0/10 stars. Do NOT recommend.*** As a paralegal working in Seattle for over 20 years, I have used ABC Legal for process service, more times than I can count. However, this last time was an absolute nightmare. I put in a request on Friday to have an individual served by the following Tuesday and gave them times when I know that person would likely be home. I received a response telling me that if I would like to have someone served at a specific time, I would need to request "stakeout services". Then I received another message telling me that if I wanted "stakeout services" I needed to provide them with 48 hours notice and because I did not, they would be unable to help. So they cancelled my order and issued me a refund, within a couple of hours of me placing it. I then called customer service and explained that I just needed the document served by Monday and they told me they would re-open the order and likely serve on Saturday. Well, Saturday came and went and the status of my order did not change. On Sunday, I sent a text message asking for a status update, replying to one they sent me earlier, only to receive a response that they do not respond to text messages. I then sent an email asking for a status update, replying to one they sent me earlier, only to receive a response that they do not respond to email messages. I then submitted a "support ticket" asking for a response. After hours went by with no response, I cancelled my order and had a different company serve the individual the same day, with no hassle. The next day I received the following message from ABC Legal customer support: "Thank you for reaching out. I do show you canceled the order however, we will resume service and proceed. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further concerns." WTF?!?! I then called and spoke to a customer service representative who acknowledged my cancellation and assured me that no further action would be taken. Three hours later, I received a notification that the individual had just been served by ABC Legal. I then called customer service and requested contact information to submit a complaint. I sent my complaint to that email address and it bounced back!!! I don't know what is going on at ABC Legal, but I do know that the company was sold last year to a private equity firm. Needless to say, I will no longer be doing business with ABC Legal. Absolute needless source of stress and waste of time. read more

Worst process server ever. The server did not even attempt to serve process to the address provided. In his report of being unable to serve and saying the address was not a good address, he indicated he would not serve the papers by going to the physical address due to a "no trespassing" sign located in the community. Instead, and I am not making this up, he claimed he sat in a nearby parking near the service address blowing his car horn, presumably, in an effort to get the attention of the person he was supposed to be serving at the address he refused to go to because of the no trespassing sign. Great website. Easy to upload documents. Their communication with their servers is awful. The notes I had submitted for the process server were not passed along. I ended up having to changes addresses because of this issue which added more $$ to cost of service. My service took an extra 10 days because they did not follow the instructions on my "rush" job. The servers can only follow through on information they receive. Very disturbing. Neighbors reported that the servers were uninformed. I cannot recommend this business. ABC Legal Services failed to properly serve my defendant due to their employee not understanding Arizona service rules (anyone over 18 at the residence can be served). Instead of completing service, their server asked family members if the defendant lived there, was told no, and then marked the service as undeliverable. I made multiple attempts to explain and correct this, but the issue was never fixed. Because of their failure, I was unable to move forward with my small claims case, causing unnecessary delays and frustration. I requested a supervisor and a refund and received no response. This showed a clear lack of knowledge and accountability. I would not recommend using this company if you need reliable service. read more

For regular and special messenger service this company is excellent. For challenging service of process, I have found service to be somewhat inconsistent. For that reason, when I know I will have a challenging SOP assignment, I use an investigator instead. Most recently I was up against a SOL deadline and was unable to open a case in federal court because the MFA was not working. I called ABC, spoke with the messenger manager, explained my dilemma, uploaded the documents, ABC advanced the filing fee (10%) and within 3 hours of my call, I received notice of the suit from the court. The $120 fee was well worth it, given the expedited need for service. The website is very useful in uploading documents for delivery and in tracking progress. The payment portal is also very well designed. read more

The business is basically a scam. When I called to ask about service, they stated they would try to serve the person 6 times. They only tried twice, but counted attempted phone calls at service, which they most definitely are not, especially when the calls take place within 30 minutes of the failed service attempt itself. They make absolutely no effort to investigate and seem resistant even to doing a google search. The way they go about service makes no sense. For example, I was looking to have someone served at a business address but the only attempts at service were at night or on the weekend. Processor "Conner Menegigian" went rogue and misbehaved me using vulgar words on April 13. Pretrial got rescheduled. Spending more money and time and using sheriff to deliver the summons. Stay away. Can I leave a 0-star rating? Guess not. 1-star it is. I recently gave ABClegal a job - actually, four jobs - serving summons & complaint on four California defendants in the same case. They got just ONE of them right. (Well, almost right, they didn't check the same boxes on the Proof of Service as were checked on the summons, but that was easily fixed.) For Defendant #2, where the POS form line 3b CLEARLY says "Person . .. served (specify name and relationship to the party named in item 3a)," the process server wrote "victor Maci" - no job title. For Defendant #3, the process server wrote "Mark D" - no full name, no job title. For Defendant #4, the process server wrote "Danny Simonyan, General Coordinator." Except you can't serve a "General Coordinator." I questioned it, maybe it could be "General Manager"? Nope, the person sits at a desk outside someone else's office. So a fancy form of "Secretary." Incidentally, it was three different process servers - all (somehow) licensed - and all three apparently don't know how to serve papers and properly complete the POS form. Process servers have one job. Actually two: serve papers, and complete a Proof of Service. It's unbelievable that I have to explain this to ABClegal. ABClegal should have just apologized, but they're standing by their process servers, telling me that they're not going to re-serve unless/until the court rejects my Request for Entry of Default. For one of the disputes, they absolutely refused to do anything and closed the case. For the other two, they said they'd look into it, but I didn't hear back for more than a month. They don't server on weekends so filed on Thursday afternoon and as of Sunday afternoon they have not even attempted to server. They will have one chance on Monday and they are 2 business day expedited services will not serve the documents in time for eviction. I am an attorney who tried this company out for process service. Although they did contract with a local who did the service, they refused to provide me with an original return of servie which my state required on the type of document it was. They made up explanations that my state court didn't require it. After advising them it wasn't a court document but a property document that required an original they wouldn't lift a finger to help. They went out of their way to be unhelpful. They also offered no refund on a person they didn't serve who was deceased claiming "work had been done" even though the decedent lived at the same address as someone else I paid to serve. It is a rip off. Do not use this incompetent company unless you want your summons not to be delivered at all and trials rescheduled because of that. My first attempt service attempt was made 2 weeks after and 2 attempts were made before first pretrial and the process server could not deliver the papers on time when the defendant was available. Result is the pretrial was rescheduled. They did not upload the non service document to court website. I had to pay more fee for alias summons. Then the process server told me to cancel the 4/10 service and pay another fee to deliver the new summons which I denied. The process server CONNOR MENEJIJIAN scolded me in vulgar language over phone on April 13 as he was s frustrated, my revised paperwork had been uploaded, but he knowingly tried to serve the old summons beyond the defendant's office work and wrote many times the paperwork was defective only referring to wrong old summons. My second pretrial was about to be be derailed by this rogue server CONNOR MENEJIJIAN and ABC LEGAL until I stepped in and paid half the fee to Collier county sheriff's office to get that delivered in a week. ABC Legal has no control over their server, tells you a bunch of lies and all you get is an AI generated email they are trying. I asked them to refund my fee which they have denied. I will dispute the charge with the credit card company and take this up with Collier County Chief Judge for nonconformance to norms and failure of trust and norms. Trust this rating, I did not at the outset, and paid a heavy price. 3 dozens calls, 50 + messages, always sent the right document with ZERO SERVICE. I have been calling and making internal notes with no resolutions. I will not be using this company again. We are not even able to file the Non-Service with the court because the server contradicted himself. A former tenant owes me more than 22K. ABC maliciously used false and misleading tactics to prevent collection which I can prove. I spok with Ed a supervisor two weeks ago and he said my request was processing with no issues. I tried reaching him for the past week with no return calls and refusal to accept my calls. Mickey in the writ department was my primary contact and I thought genuinely trying to help. He said the Sheriff was not allowing process when I spoke with the LT. who advised me differently now Mickey won't answer my calls and he closed my case on 12/24/25. They have done so repeatedly and reponed when I called. However now I am told today by Ed that they will not reopen the account and essentially wanting me to just go away. In the call with Ed today when I told him I would file a lawsuit he hung up the phone in my face. By the way this company ignores BBB requests for contact and the corporate office never accepts calls. In fact I wrote corporate a letter and sent it three weeks ago with no response to date.
