ABC Legal are not on your side. I submitted an order ($95) for them to serve papers and I didn't quite have the correct address. They give you 5 attempts to serve the papers. So with 1 of 5 attempts completed, they informed me that they need a new address. Upon providing the correct address to the SAME neighborhood within a small fraction of a mile, they charged me $95 again. I didn't change anything with my case, the paperwork or who the papers were going to. I contacted customer service and was informed that they didn't care that they only made 1 of 5 attempts. Any time you update the address, even if it is to the same neighborhood, they will treat it as a new order. Their business is structured to extract as much money as possible. They do not care about serving our needs and growing into the future. There are so many other places that will do a simple address update to provide you with the remaining service that you paid for if you have a circumstance like me which I am sure many people do. I recommend to avoid them and use someone else that actually wants to work with you to provide value. read more

Failed to serve any of the three defendants I paid to have served. Attempted one time with one defendant then paused service, when I asked for the other two attempts be made that I paid for they charged me another $75.00. They attempted service at the wrong address and said the address was unaccessible due to snow on another occasion. Since two of the defendants lived at the same address that counted as four service attempts. Big scam!! read more

The first was submitted two weeks ago and they have not yet attempted service even once, despite their claim that they will make their first attempt within five days for standard service. Abc Legal has some of the most predatory practices I've seen. I made a typo with the address-5100 XXX Ave instead of 5011 XXX Ave. Before they even tried to fix it, they told me I had to pay another full case fee just to correct the address. They didn't even check the court papers, which had the correct address on them. It seems like they don't understand how re-routing works. I suggest staying away from them! read more

I used their service to file a response to my ex wife in a child custody case and she was actually served very quickly. The problem is the proof of service, I took it to the courthouse and was told it was the wrong one. I contacted them in order to fix the situation. A few days later they finally uploaded the right proof of service but it's unsigned, so I can't use it, they've put me in a terrible situation because this has to be turned in now and the hearing is in 5 days, they've put me in a terrible situation causing stress and anxiety. read more

Upon redirecting them back to where they were supposed to go (clearly listed on my forms), they failed to serve a little old lady over the course of 4 months. I've used them for several things for my law firm before and went back to them with an extremely urgent situation. Paid for expedited service and investigation. I called a week later because there had been no updates and was told they hadn't even given the documents for anyone to start on and weren't sure when they would do so. This was now 72 hours away from a complicated, urgent deadline. I fired them on the spot and hired a private server instead who got the job done in 24 hours. Will never use ABC again. read more

Trust me, do not use ABC Legal Services This company is not customer service oriented and will pull little stunts to get more money out of its clients I inputted a process service request and the first attempt was made on the defendant with a message to follow that a lot or unit number is needed Unaware of the address issue as the address given was from the defendant. After further research on the defendants address, I then added a lot number to the service, just as requested Next, I get charged another entire process service fee for adding a lot number to my existing order. The justification comment for the additional charge was "One service per person and address." Mind you, I still had two more service attempts available and the address was the same as the original order, minus the lot number, in a mobile home park. Spoke to a manager and he was an intolerant jerk, so if you are looking for a company to process serve, this is not the company to go with as they will nickel and dime you at any given chance! read more

At initial glance, it seems very compelling. You upload your papers and pay the fee with your credit card. Afterall, the process serving is a business need to be modernised. ABC Legal is taking this outdated industry to the internet age... But.. But... Not everything seems easy as it seems. ABC Legal is terribly slow. If you go to your local document server and pay cash, they serve your papers very same day. For ABC Legal, it takes almost 10 days to serve anything. 10 days! Finally I gave up and spoke with one of the local document processors. He told me with condition of anonymity that ABC Legal is outsourcing serving to them (local providers) at half of the cost. The local providers sees it just a low priority work and holding on documents until something else comes to the same location. It takes days to group the documents together going into same vicinity. The bottomline, use them if you are not in rush otherwise you local document server would do much faster job. At the end, your local provider doing this job anyway. Process server only made one attempt in a week and not the 2-3 promised. She didn't even try the Call button on the gate and claimed you needed a code just to call which was not true. Could not get through to anyone when I called and got no response when I sent a message through my account. They also charge double when serving 2 people at the same property which is ridiculous. Wow I wish I had read these reviews first!!! They completely committed fraud. First time, the process server did not provide the right documents and so the court date was postponed.Then they charged me a second time which I did not authorize. And California DOES NOT accept electronic papers. We got postponed again and I am out $170 for their lack of knowledge or transparency. The service did not complete the job on time. The first attempt was not made until 10 days after I paid. 2nd attempt was not made until the 6th day of 1st attempt. These types of cases are time-sensitive, I paid you because I thought you were professional to know what to do and get the job done. 2nd attempt was only made because I called your business to remind them to keep making attempts. The attempts were also made during times the respondent is at work, not from the notes I submitted. On top of it all, I did not get a refund so I'm not very happy and would not want someone to go through this experience so I will make sure to leave this review on other sites about your business. read more

Be careful, as I think their process server committed fraud. First time, the process server did not provide the right documents to me for court, so the court date was postponed. The defendant then needed to be served again with the new court date. However, what the process server did was change the court date on the paperwork, but did NOT serve the defendant again, as the original serve date was still on the paperwork. Therefore, I consider this fraud on a legal document. My court date is now postponed again. read more

They promise serviced within 5 days, it weeks. Their servicer claimed that the original address was unusable because it lacked a unit number. (I also discovered that he tried to serve the business in the middle of the night!) I paid $235 for investigations to find another service address; the process took months. Then I discovered that the original address was 100% correct, that the building did not have unit numbers. I asked ABCLegal for a refund and they refused. read more

On June 5, 2024 at about 9am, I placed an order for a process server to serve an order or protection. I paid the additional $65 for Rush Services (for a total of $150), which the website states would be attempted within two business days. The first attempt was made on Sunday, June 9, 2024 which was four (4) days from the date of services requested. The process server did not do his due diligence by attempting to serve the party between the hours requested. ABCLegal tried to tell me that with any specific hours to be served would be considered a stakeout service. I was not trying to have a process server "sit" at the house to watch and serve the party. I was informing them the best time to catch the party to be served. The process server also was told blatant lies about the party not residing at the residence and did not do his due diligence in confirming by "legal" ways to prove the residence and instead requested me, the requestor, to provide that proof. Per the constable, it is the process servers' duty to find that proof (House Deed, DMV, etc.) as that is the service I was paying for. After the first attempt, they closed my case and would not attempt to serve again. I tried to update the address to the same address and was charged an additional $150 (including the Rush Service). I did get a refund of the second charge but have requested a refund of the original first charge of $150 after this mess. In addition, when I called to discuss details, I was placed on hold for 7 minutes, my call was answered, and as I was just beginning to explain the situation, they interrupted me and placed me back on hold for an additional 8 minutes. I had to call back under a restricted number for them to answer my call. I would NOT recommend this company for anyone to have a party served. This was horrible service without any due diligence on their end. However, they did refund the original $150 I paid, so no money was lost in this process. read more

I sent papers to them to be served back in May and it is now September. I have received 2 responses to the numerous emails I have sent that told me "we'll check on that". I have left voicemails with zero response. I will never use this process service ever again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. Refused to pay me for doing a rush serve. Provided photos of the respondents house, car with tags, all requires photos with lattitude and longitude. This serve was completed the very next morning. Their service is totally unacceptable. I was assigned a case number on 30 June and now on 10 July the server made one lame attempt at serving the papers. There is a gate code, I admit, and had not provided but the pedestrian gate is unlocked and you can see the condo from the gate. All I got was one attempt with a photo of the gate. Customer Service is done in India so it takes almost a full 24 hours or more for any reply. I have asked for my contract to be cancelled and I will find a local person. ABC is an aggregator and has no connection to the city the papers are to be served, so they outsource a server as a gig employee like Uber Eats. Will never use them again. read more

I called them 3 times during my case, and they picked the phone on second or third bell on all the three times. When I inquired as to status, all I got was a "whatever" attitude and if I wanted to pay more for a rush service. When I asked for a refund, they claim they processed it the same day. I had a terrible experience with ABC Legal in Seattle, WA, after a respected lawyer told me to use them to serve a restraining order to my ex-partner, who is in a local hospital. I paid $150 for rush service, guaranteed with 48 hours. It took them a full day to process my request, then another day to get paperwork to my server. He went to the location I put in the portal, but it was the wrong hospital building. Instead of going to the right one, after being told where it was (walkable), he returned home. I had to call/text ABC to get them to try again. They switched to a different server and then took another full day to serve the papers. They charged me an additional $150 at that point. SO in the end, I paid $300 for "rush" service that took a full week, while my safety was literally at stake. I asked for a refund of at least the second $150 charge and they refused. The company seems genuine and have nice employees answering the phones bit their process servers are absolutely horrible and unprofessional and can't even do the basics of a steak out. Waiting a certain amount of time in front of a building and serve the person when he leaves. Seems impossible as several times they said they had a process server there and it was a lie or they just left whenever they wanted. The delay of having the documents served and the amount of times I had to contact them for the Affidavit of Service once the service was complete was astounding! ABC Legal is the worse process server company I have ever worked with. I have been in the legal industry for 30 years and have never been treated with so much disrepect with any company of any kind. They had five days to serve a business in the middle of Los Angeles and would not guarantee that service could be done even within their contracted time period. Everyone I spoke (even the supervisor who said to me he did not have time to play this game with me after inquiring why they could not get this served) with was rude and antagonistic. After I was told to basically go jump in a lake I called Processerver who informed me they could get the company served today. Please do yourself a favor do not use ABC Legal. I would give them a zero if I could. The process server committed perjury. Claimed he served defendant personally and gave his description. After defendant established he had been out of town for weeks, company investigation revealed the server actually talked to someone through the call box, never saw anyone, and left papers in mailbox. (Defendant is well known so apparently he just used known description.). Company offered to re-serve and said they coached server not to leave papers in mailbox. TERRIBLE. I sent them explicit instructions for service of process on a defendant in Florida along with photos of the person. Not only were those instructions ignored, the process server just left the documents with whoever answered the door at the address and didn't even get the person's name. Not only is this improper service, but now the individual knows we are trying to find him. They apologized and sent the same person back to the residence to "try again." As if the guy is going to answer the door now, and she went back in the middle of the day, as if anyone is home during the day.... The defendant wasn't located nor was proper service obtained, yet the lawsuit was revealed and now he knows. ABC Legal provides fast, accurate and timely service. They served Defendants numerous times for me and have NEVER failed. Prices are less than almost all process servers, they rapidly provide service, and they are a high quality, professionally run company and keep you informed of progress on a daily basis. I couldn't be happier with their service and I've used several other process servers and wish I found ABC Legal sooner. Still, I've now used them frequently, file legal claims at the rate of 5-10 per year and will continue to use their service indefinitely. read more

I hired this company to process an order of protection in a very serious matter. I signed up for a rush order, which is an extra fee, due to the nature of the protection order being needed. The service was guaranteed to be done within 48 hrs of the order. After several days I checked on the order and it has not been even put into motion. I called in and spoke to someone who assured me they would get right on it. After another period of three days I called again to be told the same exact thing. I spoke with the manager Vincent and he not only offered a refund for the service but also reassured me that they would find a process server to get the order of protection sent out immediately. A few days later I received an email saying they could not find a server and a refund was sent and my account was now closed out. Part of the reason the order of protection was needed was for this certain person not to be allowed anywhere near my house for fear that they would poison my animals. A few days ago my dog started having seizures! I really hope that this person didn't poison my dog. Whatever the case an order of protection is FOR PROTECTION against someone for someone's safety! That being said it should be taken seriously, this company DID NOT TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY!! not only did they acknowledge that they didn't do a good job the manager then promised to get it taken care of and DID NOT follow through on his word. So far, I am very unimpressed. The server that's "handling" my case in Northern Cali does the bare minimum and the company just doesn't care. First attempt, he drove up to a locked gate, honked his horn and drove away. I then gave them information about another possible access around back.
