Both a natural winery and natural cidery, this place has something for everyone. With an INCREDIBLY laid back experience in mind, I recommend you visit this site on a nice day, bring a picnic and enjoy a selection of thier best offerings in thier back yard. My wife and I recently came for their anniversary celebration, where they had wine sampling, live music, and a pizza oven. With such a great space, such great beverages, and fun music, there is nowhere I would have rather been. Now let's talk about their beverages. We had samples of their wines, and we also bought a flight to ensure we sampled the full spectrum. All of their wines are made using the natural method, which means that they have exactly one ingredient - grapes. Their wine brand goes by the name of DeFi, and these are all NC and VA-procured grapes, fermented and bottled on-site. I especially loved each of their Pet Nats along with the Piquette Rouge. These wines are all bone dry and bring in some wanted natural notes, which I love in natural wines. Oh, and their ciders! I had never heard of a Pet Nat cider, but now I am all in! All deliciously dry and complex with fun added fruit flavors. I am especially fond that they use the only North American tropical fruit - the Paw Paw in their ciders. The produce used in their ciders is harvested locally as well, and with the amazing combination of different apples used in their ciders, each is unique and delicious. They also have an amazing little market with local specialties, which is based on an honor payment system (something I have rarely seen). If you are anywhere in the Raleigh-Durham area, I highly recommend stopping by and enjoying the amazing offerings here. You will not regret stopping by.

We rented a pontoon boat at this Marina. We had a good time on the boat but the main reason we…read morerented it was to swim off the boat. An hour away from the marina, five people jumped in the water, but couldn't get back on because the ladder was broken. It took all the strength of our group to hoist them back into the boat, and we didn't swim again because of the broken ladder. When we returned, and mentioned the ladder, everyone seemed to know about it - "yeah, we've got parts on order". So they knew when they took our money that the ladder was broken. When I mentioned it to the cashier all she said was "you could have just come back". We were an hour from the marina on a 4 hour rental. We didn't have time for that nor did we want to deal with the hassle of chancing it that they make that have had a replacement boat for us. There was no offer for any compensation for the broken ladder at the time of final payment. This would have been a five star review if it weren't for that stupid ladder- sad that it was such an easily avoidable issue, if only they had mentioned it when we rented the boat.

From blackberry, to peach, to honey.... they are all crafted magnificently. For our visit, we settled on whiskey + coffee. I love how she asked what level of sweetness we preferred and then brought out our favorite creamer to add in the coffee. The coffee + cream + whipped topping was perfect to sit outside on a Fall evening and sip. After packaging our to go bottles, we asked a few more questions to the distiller himself and he shared that they make about 2 batches a month,sometimes 3. Even though it wasn't a tour, his sharing helped us understand the process and how lucky we were to find this gem. Even if you don't drink whiskey, go and enjoy the scenery.
