There's a first time for everything and for $5 you can see for yourself! The Aberfoyle Antique Market has a huge array of shops and goods to peruse. There were all kinds of items from glass dishes, to dolls, records, furniture, clothes, collectibles, metal tools, books all sorts of things. Prices were reasonable. I could spend all day looking around. There were a few cafe and snack stand options. The cafe had some seating and some a lineup when we were there on a Sunday afternoon. We sat in an outdoor patio area with tables and umbrellas - it was very nice to have a place to rest and have a coffee. I would definitely come here again. read more

Absolutely the sweetest and most wonderful flea market, filled with gorgeous items. Some sellers are renting tables, some sellers are longterm. A ton of Canadiana, everything you want to see in a flea market including a lovely central square where you can get hot dogs and hamburgers, and diner food. Loved the little coffee shop staffed by two super sweet sisters who made me an Arnold Palmer out of lemonade and ice tea. I'll be back! read more

Fantastic outdoor antique market located in Guelph pretty much right off of the 401. It's opened from the end of April to the end of October - RAIN OR SHINE. The vendors here have a beautiful collection of their antiques, set up in extremely artsy ways. I highly recommend going in fall - the feel of the market is just perfect; walking along antique shops while being surrounded by bright colourful leaves on the outskirts of the market. There are tons of parking spaces. When you go in, it's $2 per adult. The outside of the market is set up with vendors under tents (similar to the ones you'll see at St. Jacobs market. Keep walking though, and when you reach the centre of the Aberfoyle Antique Market, you will be amazed at the space; each vendor has their own design to their space. There are Saturday special shows every year; this costs $8 for admission, but they have added the amount of vendors in the space, making it more worthwhile to come! The food stalls here smell delicious - definitely worth the trip if you ask me! read more

Aberfoyle Antique Market is the largest outdoor antique market in Canada. It's open seasonally from the end of April to the end of October every Sunday from 8am to 4pm rain or shine. Admission is $2 for adults and children 12 and under are free. It's about just over an hour drive from Toronto and located just south of Guelph and just off Highway 401. I went on a recent Sunday and upon arriving and it didn't look that big from the outside but once you pay your admission and go inside the grounds, it's pretty big, vendor after vendor once you walk deeper inside. It's a fun place to find small stuff like old watches, old coins, sculptures, paintings, jewelry and even furniture and a whole other myriad of items. Items are reasonably priced and you are able to barter with the vendor in regards to price. Do your research and never pay full price on an item and don't be afraid to walk away from an item if you can't get a price you are comfortable paying. Also it's cash only but they do have ATM machines onsite. They also have a small restaurant at the antique market if you are looking for something to eat and outdoor vendors selling food also. Overall, it's a really cool and fun experience going from vendor to vendor looking for something special that will catch your eye and being able to interact and barter with the vendor which is a big part of the fun or even just asking questions about items. It's busy but not super crowded and a great way to spend a Sunday morning or afternoon. read more

In my humble opinion... GO EARLY, I went around 9 am, it was nice and relaxed. Room to move, by 1030 it was getting busy. I don't think I'd visit on a rain day, outdoor setting, wet wouldn't be much fun. They have an ATM. read more

If you dig antiques the way old people dig tomato soup and grilled cheese for lunch, then the Aberfoyle Antique Market will hit the spot. Situated just off the 401, about a 10 minute drive from Guelph, this market is a plethora of hidden treasure. You'll need a car and patience to suss out the best finds (also legs, eyeballs, and money!). You can find furniture, paintings, posters, books, old hardware, records, glass items, jewelry, collectibles and an array of other junk. I think I even bought some bagels there once. I usually check this market out a few times a year to see what's good in the 'hood. It runs from May 1 - Oct 30 and is only open on Sunday. read more

Worth the drive from the city. Get here early for opening and you'll score some good finds. Admission is $2 or get the season pass one for $15 or $25 for two. Exit 299 right off the 401. Circle the shops once as there are duplicates of items however prices vary quite a bit depending on the vendor i.e. tea cups with saucer found many for $5 while some vendors sold for $20+ Open rain or shine however with most items on display outdoors the selections would be limited. Some food vendors on premise however I'd recommend checking out local restaurants in the area. I stumbled upon The Danish Place (review posted). If you're up for some Scandinavian eats it's only 10-15 minutes away. Make a day trip out to the market. Lots to do in the area- Emerald Lake, OLG slots, breweries, hike some trails in Milton (escarpment) or check out the Elora Gorge not too far away. Explore Ontario! read more

This is my favorite ''flea market'' type market. Open on Sundays, with admission being $2, and free parking. You can go here with an idea of what you are looking for, but may end up with a ton more! You will find anything and everything you can dream of. From furniture to clothing to dolls to antiques to vinyl. There are easily 100+ booths available to discover. My personal favorite is the $2 vinyl hut... literally everything inside of this booth is $2 vinyl. Now these are not top of the line, mint condition vinyl, and literally you have to dig, because nothing is organized. So if you have time to kill go for it! I've found some great treasures from this booth. If you aren't inclined to dig, you could go across the way to the overpriced vinyl guy where everything is labelled, in great condition and organized. This market is awesome and if you are ever in the area, I highly recommend it! 5/5 read more

When you walk in, the market doesn't appear to be very big but trust me, it is. You make a turn and you see rows of tables and shops, all brimming with stuff. It's a hoarder or collector's dream come true! I've heard a lot about antique market in Aberfoyle and I finally got to visit it with friends. I didn't expect to spend so much money but I did - it was my reward for not spending it on booze the night before! When it comes to antiquing, I'm pretty lucky at finding good stuff. I found things that suited my home and hobbies, and a few collectables too. If you're looking for vintage furniture, you can find it here. If you're looking for mason jars, you can find it here. If you're looking for farm equipment, you can find it here. They have everything. Make sure when you come here that you have energy to scour, the time to explore and the guts to haggle. Always a good destination for a day trip. I really enjoy doing the rounds here. I find the prices are mostly very reasonable. Some dealers aren't flexible with their prices despite the Aberfoyle website's claim that they entertain haggling. Besides that, things get snapped up quickly, so if you come across something you like my advice is pick it up. Every time I go to Aberfoyle I wish I had a truck. The Aberfoyle Antique market is a fabulous way to spend a Sunday. I try to go early in the morning, because around noon it gets a lot busier and more crowded. So if you want to avoid the crowds, go early! There is something for everyone here, trust me! No matter what kind of odds and ends you're looking for, the Aberfoyle market will have something for you. It's absolutely BRIMMING with fun and crazy goodies. Honestly, I spend almost every single Sunday there and I'm sure there are things I haven't seen. It's worth it to buy the Season Pass if you're a frequent visitor, as it pays for itself in a few trips. The vendors are always friendly and helpful if you are looking for something in particular and the café they have there serves delicious food at reasonable prices! They even have a few vegetarian options, which was a nice surprise. So if you're looking for an interesting way to spend a Sunday, I highly recommend checking out the Aberfoyle Antique market! If you like antique markets, this is the one to go to. So much fun walking around checking out what they have. I wish I could take home a lot of it. Prices are reasonable when compared to antique stores in California. $2 entrance fee, 1 set of cleaner restrooms on one end and port-a-potties on the other, lots of space for kids to play without getting into the antiques, a few vendors have drinks and food, at up area to rest up. Aberfoyle Antiques Market is a great way to spend a Sunday morning. Here are my hints to having a fun, successful time at this market... 1. From Toronto, take the 401 to exit 299. Go right off the exit. Pass the Tim Hortons and A & W. the market is maybe 2 km ahead on your left. 2. There is a 2$ per person charge for entry. Most vendors only accept cash. 3. On the outside of the main market is the area where more of the one-time and less permanent dealers are. Better deals are sometimes found here. 4. Before you arrive, think of 5-6 things you might like to find at the market. Research the values on line in advance, so you feel good about getting the best deal when you arrive. (It can be confusing when you see the same thing at 6 different prices) 5. Walk through the market once before buying. (Unless you happen upon that item you have been looking for for years) You will see duplicates of some things (wooden crates, dishes, license plates, bottles, etc.) that may be cheaper elsewhere AND you won't be lugging heavy or breakable items while you are inside. 6. Aim for a dry, sunny day. Most items are outside. However, if it is rainy, bring an umbrella. They will be open. There will be less stuff out, but you might get a better deal with fewer competing buyers. 7. Plan on 2-3 hours. Limited lunch and snack options are available if you get hungry. There are lots of items here. You can find a wide range of items from 1$ to 5,000$. It is a fun way to spend a Sunday morning. read more

Aberfoyle used to be a great antique market. Over the last few years, it has deteriorated terribly. It is now a flea market. I throw away better stuff than they sell. The food available there is disgusting. Just fit for human beings who have no taste buds. Maxim read more
