Mom has been in the Manor for 2.5 years and has always been treated with the upmost respect and dignity. She started her journey in the Assisted Living unit where the staff were excellent and would always show their love for her. She was always involved in many activities and loved exercise class. One of her favorites was the buggy rides around the pond. When it was time for her to move to the healthcare side, it was so incredibly easy as the staff moved all of her furniture and all I had to do was just be with her to help with the transition. She has flourished! She was welcomed with lots of love and very attentive staff, they have been nothing short of amazing!! She recently celebrated her 80th birthday and I was overwhelmed by the love and hugs she received. Sadie James asked the staff and Salina Technical school students to line up in the hallway and they sang Happy Birthday to her while she walked back to her room after lunch. I have witnessed many times while being with my mom in the dining room, the opportunity for residents to choose what they would like to eat and/or if they want something different, the staff is quick and prompt to have something made for them. I have been so overwhelmed by the kindness and love they show to everyone. When I take mom out for church, upon return she sees her home and repeats, oh I just LOVE my home!! I can not explain the peace it brings to my family and I that she is so happy and well cared for. THANK YOU, TEAM! I am SO GRATEFUL for you!

I am a freelance videographer who was hired to do some filming of the property, but I was so impressed by the wonderful staff and look of the place that I had to write a review on here. I was greeted with tons of beaming smiles and saw nothing but laughter from the residents while I was there. I was even invited to work on a puzzle- something I probably haven't done in years. I arrived a little after breakfast, but whatever they had been cooking smelled delicious! I got a tour of the property and the look as well as feel of the place was like something out of a fancy hotel. The best part? The movie theater room...but I'm 100% biased given I'm a film/movie guy :) But everything from the backyard garden, sunrooms and library had me wishing I was ready to retire lol. The one thing I wasn't really impressed with, was their use of their basement. IT'S HUGE! But I didn't really see a lot going on down there, but who knows maybe something will change. I was told there'd be some new members added to the management team as well which is even more exciting to hear that they're a place that is always changing and improving the way things are done. I'm not quite at that fearful age where I will have to be researching these kinds of places for my parents, but when I do, I will be coming back to Residence 600. It's that nice and it's the exact kind of community that keep my parents cared for active, and social. This place left that big of an impact on me.

Owner Coco (Heather) Williams and her employees offer every service needed for excellent in-home care at any level. I came to Topeka from California for only 2 weeks to care for my brother, whose ongoing cancer treatment has left him extremely frail, weak, and unable to care for himself. I initially called Coco just for transportation to his upcoming chemo infusions, but I quickly understood we needed her for so much more, both before and after I left for home. She efficiently gets him to his medical appointments in a private car, stays with him as necessary for procedures, and helps confer with his medical team. In addition, she takes him home, makes him comfortable in the lift chair where he spends all his time, gives him his meds 4 times a day, does the laundry, cleans the kitchen, does other light house-keeping, takes messages, encourages him to eat and drink at regular intervals, takes care of toileting, bathing, dressing, and other needs, and basically does whatever is necessary. Not only does she supply the essentials, but she brings a wonderful, caring attitude to her work. She loves people, and it shows. Coco DOES care! My brother brightens up whenever she walks in the door, and they carry on pleasant conversations about their respective lives. She also supported me insofar I had been acting as caregiver and organizer of his bills and so on. When I flew home, I was confident he was in the best, most competent hands. I have to add that my brother is a difficult old man of 70 even before the cancer, and his memory and judgment have been adversely affected by "chemo brain." As a result, he regarded most of my own attempts to help with anger, resistance, and suspicion. Coco, in contrast, has the magic touch with him! She is such a lovely person and somehow understands him in a way I do not. Gaining his cooperation greatly helps him to possible recovery. My brother didn't qualify for Medicare payment, and he isn't yet ready for hospice. Private home care service was our only alternative, and Coco honestly turned out to be the ideal provider! It's never inexpensive to have people come in for care, but Coco's charges seem less than what I was told by larger, more bureaucratic providers. She's quite reasonable, in fact. She comes on whatever schedule we need, including very-early-morning arrival for toileting, and returns later in the day for meds and meals. Finding Coco Cares is the best thing that could have happened for us, and I highly recommend her to others, whatever the level of care needed. FIVE (TEN!) STARS!!
