After conversation examination and testing--which included an MRI of my brain, EEG testing, and physical examination, Dr. Sivaraaman, said that he would not have had my license suspended. But then, he informed me that in spite of my having demonstrated normal dexterity and physical movement control, he would not fill out the form to restore my driving privileges unless I visited a third party and passed a "driving test," one that would take more money than I can afford to spend--a fact that he was aware of at the time he made that demand. He was also aware that to restore my driving license, the state would, themselves, give me a driving test. His justification for that requirement is his belief that at some time in the past I may have had a mini stroke that reduced the strength on the right side of my body. He agreed that had I visited him for that weakness he would NOT have recommended my license be suspended. So, that issue was 100% unconnected to my loss of driving privileges. Yet still, he would not agree to informing the state, via a standard form that doctors normally submit, that the supposed seizure was not a danger to my driving, today. So, for reasons that make no sense, but are the direct result of that nonsensical decision, I, an 88 year old man who should be enjoying his declining years, cannot legally visit the grandchildren I adore, shop, or visit the park using the car that's parked behind my apartment building. So with Abington Neurological Associates, CYA, or Cover Your Ass medicine wins out over logic, good sense, and an oath that says to, do no harm. read more

Have been going to this office for several years. Started with the sleep center. Have also seen other doctors in this practice. My needs have varied. Doctors have been wonderful. Always very caring and understanding. Sometimes difficult to speak to someone on the phone. However messages always returned in within a day or two. The staff there is pleasant. Went here for a good amount of years. Always had issues with the office staff. Despite that, I was always courteous and pleasant with them. Would receive calls to cancel or confirm my appointment, the one appointment I cancelled through the prompts per their guidelines well in advance and when I got to the rescheduled appointment, they tried to collect a missed appointment fee. talked to the office manager and settled it without having to pay for their mistake. However, this past April, I got a robocall to confirm my appointment for 8:45am on the following Monday at 7pm at night on Friday, which i confirmed by pressing 1. When I got to the appointment on Monday at 8:32am, a receptionist named Stephanie, informed me, quite rudely, that I was late and my appointment was for 8:00am. I was showing up to this appointment to try a new medicine treatment and had already been without meds for 2 weeks. I explained to Stephanie that their system confirmed my appointment for 8:45am, she said in a nutshell, "it didnt matter", "thats why we give you appointment cards". I was irritated but never overly rude or cordial with her. She called back to the NP for my doctor to see if I could go to my appointment which was denied. We scheduled a new appointment for 2 weeks later. I showed up an hour and a half early because I wasn't quite sure what time it was for. When I got there, I was checking in with Stephanie again and as I'm standing there, the receptionist next to Stephanie is blatantly asking Stephanie if I was the one she had a problem with previously. She collected my copay plus a $75 missed appointment fee from previously. After witnessing that, I found and scheduled a new neurologist at a different practice. I only am just posting this now because I see I'm not the only one who had issues with the office staff. My doctor was amazing, I loved going to see him, but the office staff needs to be replaced. read more

I had a 9:30 appt this morning but received a call at 7:20 stating that my appt was delayed until 11:30 due to the weather. When I checked in I handed over my $40 copay but was told that I owed additional $75 for an EEG which was completed last month. I told the front desk person I didn't have any more cash on hand but I will pay it later. I was told I could not see the Neurologist and would have to reschedule. No compassion at all. I informed the staff I was there to get to a refill of my seizure medications and they have not been refilled yet (I have 2 weeks of meds left). I am not a new client, I have been going there for years but it looks like I have to find a new neurologist now. read more

Beyond rude and unbelievably incompetent. As many have stated on this page, we arrived for our appointment 2 minutes late and were told we could not be seen - after waiting nearly 6 months for this appointment. Was told paperwork didn't get sent in - never received any paperwork but did spend 45 minutes filling out an intake online which I was told was never received. Everyone at the front desk area behaved so unprofessionally it was shocking. AS someone who has worked in medicine for decades I never experienced such treatment and behavior from anyone. The previous reviews are not wrong. This office cares nothing for their patients and hearing them laugh at you as you then attempt to move a wheelchair bound patient out of their office doors sealed it for me. I would never return to such a poorly run office. The staff is most often a reflection of the doctors and I would believe this is no different. Don't waste your time here. read more

Absolutely awful experience. Staff is disrespectful and rude. I called the office as I had gotten lost. They knew I was running maybe a couple minutes late yet still got there on time and was told that I had to reschedule. One of the "women " who answered the phone hung up on me. Incompetent organization. Mismanaged from the moment you walk in. Staff sitting and talking while paperwork not processed. If patient information not ready, how prepared is the physician for the patient. Went in for a stress related condition and the staff sent my stress level through the roof. Physicians should be proud of their staff turning away paying customers. Doctors know medicine but don't know how to run companies. Your employees provide the first impression of the physician. My wife had a follow up appointment with Dr. Weismann at 9:30 a.m. We arrived at the office at 9:04 (26 minutes early) and after waiting in line for the receptionist we were told he was seeing patient across the hall in a different office. We arrived there at 9:09 and were told they had left us a voicemail to arrive 1/2 hour early to complete paperwork. Since it was now 9:10 we would have to reschedule the appointment! First of all we did not get the voicemail, secondly, what paperwork? We have been there several times before, so how long could that take? Third, who hasn't had to wait in a doctors office for 10 minutes or an hour before seeing the doctor? After taking the moring off work for the appointment, we were a little upset that 10 minutes made a difference! We did not reschedule the appointment and will seek out another neurologist!!!! read more

I was reassigned to Dr. Factor when Dr Burke retired. At the last app. I sat in the car till 10 after. When I scheduled the app I was told that I should keep my phone on and I would be contacted when it was time to be seen in the office. I sat in the car till 10 after. When I went into the office I was told that practice was no longer followed and since I was late for the app it would be up to the Dr if he would see me. I was actually in the parking lot by a quarter of the hour. I was seen and because I was late I was to decide if I wanted to focus on my migraines or my lack of balance. I am one person with numerous medical issues as a result of TBI. When I signed out I was reminded that I need to arrive on time, if not I would not be seen. read more

Dr Weismann is by far the most arrogant doctor I have encountered. You would think he would at least have the competency to back such a large ego. This man misdiagnosed me. My advice is to run far away from this office. It lacks compassion and skill. My experience was completely awful. read more

My mother was diagnosed with early stage Alzheimer's by Dr. Weismann. I have been bringing her to Willow Grove office for about a year. Each time I scheduled her appointment I was told to "try to be here 30 minuets prior to fill out paperwork." After first visit the paperwork was just a check to make sure nothing changed (2 minutes tops). Well I had an appointment today at 11am and arrived at 11:02 (no lie) only to be told that bc we were not there 30 minutes before to "fill out" paperwork that they would have to cancel and "could I come back at 1pm?" What?? I work!!!!! My time is precious too! The receptionist was preparing the forms for my review, but it was "Dave" who interjected and apparently had an issue with us being 2 minutes late. Well Dave and Dr Weismann.....you BOTH are the reason I am now going to Abington Geriatric!!! Never once was I told that My Mom's appointment would be cancelled if I didn't arrive 30 minutes beforehand!! I find your new "rule" to be Obnoxious, inconsiderate, unprofessional and completely lacking of any respect or empathy for caregiver's time. Good luck with finding and keeping patients who will put up with that attitude. You're not the only practice in town!! Oh and your forms.... try having your staff update the information in your system that took me "30 minutes" to write. Maybe then you wouldn't need people to come in so early to fill out what they already filled out the last visit! read more

I had been a patient here here for many years. The One Nurse Practitioner actually is excellent. The doctors are rude . She did more for me then 3 Doctors. After changing jobs and losing my insurance I could no longer go here. I called and explained the situation. I recently got new insurance that they accept. I called and was told the " Doctors needed to review my file before I could make an appointment." I called back to learn that it's not the Doctors but billing. The woman on the phone informed me that because I cancelled an appointment in 2016 my file needed to be reviewed. I cancelled because I no longer had insurance!! The neurologists here are arrogant. I'm only interested in seeing the Nurse anyway. Arrogant, pricks. Stay away..... far away. read more

We had a followup appointment with Dr Weisman for 9:30am. We arrived at the office at 9:20 and were given paperwork to complete. After about 5 minutes we were told that we would have to reschedule our appointment because we did not arrived the required 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment time. This visit was for my 93 year old mother who had been diagnosed with dementia about 18 months ago. My sister, who is a nurse and my mother's caregiver, had taken off work for this visit because my mother's condition seems to be deteriorating. The receptionist did not seem to care that we would be inconvenienced by having to reschedule and that my mother would have to wait another 4 weeks to get another appointment. She just kept saying that this was their policy. Infuriating!! We did not know that we were supposed to arrive 15 minutes ahead of time and we did not receive a reminder phone call prior to the visit even though the receptionist said they had called. They had no compassion for my mother or us and just kept stating that we would have to reschedule. We will not be going back to this practice for care and I suggest if you are looking for compassionate care you look elsewhere. It doesn't exist at this practice. read more

I originally approached Dr. Kulandaivel and the Abington Neurological Associates because I had recently moved and was in need of a specialist in my new area. I had a diagnosis. I just needed help to get my condition under control. Yet, not only did Dr. Kulandaivel refuse to accept the diagnosis, he decided that I was actually just a depressed, anxious woman with boyfriend troubles. He REFUSED to listen to anything I had to say. He cherry picked a few specific points about my condition and ignored all of the symptoms and data that didn't agree with his idea. Not only that, he falsely led me to believe that he was treating my actual condition and prescribed me medication that did nothing to improve my overall health. I only got worse. Yet, he continued to refuse to work with me. Instead, he insisted that I go see a psychiatrist. I may not be a doctor, but I am a scientist. What Dr. Kulandaivel did wasn't just harmful, it was morally reprehensible. There are other, better neurology departments. You may have to travel farther, but it's better than this. read more

4 months ago my Neurologist ordered a sleep study for me to get done. Finally on Friday 9/6 I picked the machine up. I returned the machine Tuesday (1 day late) after not being able to complete the sleep study because I wasn't able to actually sleep. The next day I received a letter stating they charged my credit card $90 because I did not complete the sleep study. This charge WAS NOT authorized. The waiver I signed states that my card would only be charged if the equipment WAS NOT returned (which it was) or it would be charged $30 if it was late. It DOES NOT state that it would be charged if I could not complete the study and I was not informed of the charge when dropping off the equipment either. I've called the office several times. When someone finally called me back they informed me that not only was I being charged the $90 but now I cannot get the 48hr EEG that's been scheduled because I didn't complete the sleep study. read more

If I could rate no stars I would. I have been going to them for years. I have been really ill the past year with several inpatient stays. I have had to call and reschedule my appointment a few times. I never missed an appointment without giving prior notice. The last appointment I had was with Dr Burke the office called me and told me that he was out sick that morning and I needed to come another day. They couldn't see me for another month. I was sick that week prior to my appointment and was in the emergency room the night before. I was due in by 8am but I woke up at 9am called and apologized they never called me back. I called to make another appointment but they would not. The end of the week I received a letter from DR. Burke stating they will no longer see me as a patient there. What are they God........you can change our appointments make us sit there for hours......but when we are sick there is no excuse........I never screwed them out of a phone call. If that wasn't bad enough to add insult to injury they sent it the next day certified. UNREAL they are horrible............ read more

I would NEVER recommend Abington Neurological Associates of Abington. Three office staff members including the manager and billing person were extremely rude and callous not only to me but also to a friend. When I told my doctor Kartik Sivaraaman, he didn't want to get involved with the matter. Think twice about going to this medical practice because they will give you an appointment for a specific time and if you are 5 minutes late (like in my case), they will charge you $75.00 and refuse to allow you to see the doctor claiming that the appointment time given is NOT the "real time" for you to be in the office but rather 30 minutes before for EVERY visit. This is understandable for the first visit to fill out forms. This is not standard practice for the majority of doctor offices and is only a means to charge unnecessary fees. When I called to talk to my doctor, the billing person told me to give my credit card number if I wanted a return call. She said no exceptions and hung up on me. I called to speak to the office manger and she declined my call too. All of the neurologists in this practice agree with this office policy...$75 for existing patients and $100 for new patients. If you are treated poorly with this practice then speak to Abington Hospital's Patient's Advocacy Department and they will help you. I found out too late that many patients have complained to other doctors about them. Luckily, my doctor referred me to a better Neurology Group saying that I was not the only patient treated poorly by ANA located in Abington Hospital. read more
