But then, he informed me that in spite of my having demonstrated normal dexterity and physical movement control, he would not fill out the form to restore my driving privileges unless I visited a third party and passed a "driving test," one that would take more money than I can afford to spend--a fact that he was aware of at the time he made that demand. He was also aware that to restore my driving license, the state would, themselves, give me a driving test. His justification for that requirement is his belief that at some time in the past I may have had a mini stroke that reduced the strength on the right side of my body. He agreed that had I visited him for that weakness he would NOT have recommended my license be suspended. So, that issue was 100% unconnected to my loss of driving privileges. Yet still, he would not agree to informing the state, via a standard form that doctors normally submit, that the supposed seizure was not a danger to my driving, today. So, for reasons that make no sense, but are the direct result of that nonsensical decision, I, an 88 year old man who should be enjoying his declining years, cannot legally visit the grandchildren I adore, shop, or visit the park using the car that's parked behind my apartment building. So with Abington Neurological Associates, CYA, or Cover Your Ass medicine wins out over logic, good sense, and an oath that says to, do no harm.

Dr. T. takes his medical training and experience and helps me understand CT's, MRI's, blood labs, and blends these with my subjective reports so that I have a comprehensive understanding of what my other specialists simply do not do. My recent changes of condition are unusual and don't fit the usual diagnosis and treatment plans that other neurologists, neurosurgsons, and my PCP try. THe result so far is, I continue to see these specialists but Dr. T. helps explain better and he also engages and consults with my specialists. Without Dr. T's contributions, I would feel more uncertain with less optimism of helpful pathways which might lie ahead.

I suffer from extreme anxiety so it's hard for me to put trust into doctors sometimes, but I trust and appreciate Dr. Tabby so much I wish I could make him my primary doctor. His attention to detail is great and every time you talk with him the conversation is always a two-lane highway. He gives you options and brings you into the decision making process if there's one to be had. I recommend Dr. Tabby to everyone! Once we started seeing that my mom had symptoms of dementia, I immediately had her see Dr. Tabby because I know he'd do all he could to help her. He's a good man with great bedside manner and if you're in need of a neurologist, he's the one to go to!

I did not need another appointment for Dr. Greenhouse to read the result to me. I just saw her in the office a week prior. Per office staff ( not Michele, she is the best!) I had to make another office appointment in order for her to go over the MRI per "the policy". I would have to be put on the cancelation list and hope someone cancels soon. I find this unacceptable and canceled my follow up appointments for December and will not be returning to this practice. Unfortunately, I probably should have asked to speak with Dr. Greenhouse herself if she was willing to return a call and maybe she would have been more understanding? All I can say Dr. Greenhouse, I hope you listen to the voicemails your patients leave and not just rely on your office staff because she obviously does not understand how to prioritize what they are requesting. Maybe she is relative in some way to Dr. Greenhouse because I cannot see how she has a job there for so long!

She will never admit to you that your problem may be beyond her scope of knowledge. After 9 months of treatment that never worked I saw a specialist at another facility. She misdiagnosed me, that's why nothing worked. I had small strokes and she never treated me with appropriate medication to prevent further strokes as well. She may seem supportive but her knowledge is limited to simple problems. Find a knowledgeable neurologist with compassion this is not the one.

There have been no consequences or side effects. She is personable and delightful as well. Actually I showed her another issue I was having which she diagnosed immediately and I was able to get care the same day with a professional that treats the issue I was experiencing. On another matter: Her office staff called me twice to make sure I received the result of an mri I had. Dr. Iones followed up to make sure that I was seeing a doctor for an issue that appeared on the mri. I highly recommend Dr. Iones if you need a neurologist as I have been to three others over the years and none compare on any level.

My spinal cord was injured, and I presented her with textbook symptoms, stockings and gloves, of a spinal injury, with searing pain head to toe, worse in the extremities. She prescribed minimal medication, no pain medication, no referrals to see a specialist, no imaging studies. She said a seatbelt injury could not cause you to pass blood. It wasn't until time had passed where I could not take the pain any longer, and worsening conditions, that I demanded an MRI from this practice, and it revealed a compressed spinal cord needing immediate surgery, among other surgeries needed. It wasn't until I demanded to see a neurologist and neurosurgeon to interpret the results, which saved me from living in a wheelchair. She needs to go back to medical school and put the lipstick away. Dr. McElwain was just as bad as a doctor. He is good for basic medicine but not knowledgeable in trauma cases. I've tried many times to make an appointment when I am sick or in need of a doctor only to be met with a voicemail or being told there are no appointments for weeks. I feel the receptionists are the weak link here. If you ever do get to see the doctor, they are mostly competent. Just hope that you don't need to deal with the receptionist any longer than necessary. I have been unable to get prescriptions refilled, medical records, appointments made. I wholeheartedly do not recommend this place to anyone. Luckily I have decent medical coverage from my job and I am able to go elsewhere. However it is pathetic that this place considers themselves a doctor's office that helps people, since I have rarely received help here.
