Very disappointed with this business. They insisted that I purchase a new key fob. They ordered it ($260) and 6 weeks later I was called to bring in my car. Like monkeys with a football 3 of them couldn't program the fob. Then the excuses started that the receiver in the car was the problem. Total B S the remote start ( which channels through the receiver ) works perfectly fine...even the old key fob will start the car. Then they hemmed and hawed concerning a refund. I was here to get a lost key for a car storage topper. I was selling it and over the many years the key just disappeared. So the sales technician, because they are both consultants of locks and keys, sought the brand of my topper and looked up the key code in their computer system. They found it ... it's 20 years old. YES! Okay so they tested the keys that would fit and after some trials and errors they got the right key to work. On my way I put my topper on Craigslist and sold the topper I no longer needed. I was stranded at work parking lot this evening. My club was locked on my steering wheel. The man that answered transferred me to an answering machine. I waited and called back told him I got an answering machine he said we can't help you until tomorrow??? What he left me waiting for help? No respect or caring. Another company came right away. Walked in waiting to see if I could get a key for a tumble for a tools box. Had a couple of guys ahead of me and a priest. He finally came back took my tumbler, tired a key, set it down and walked off. The priest needed to leave because someone needed their last rights and the guy behind the counter said that someone's locks seized up (which it appeared had nothing to do with that individual employee). I was in dire need of a new key for my 1991 Toyota pick up. My son broke the key off in the fuel door and it was the only one we had. So while the truck is broken down at the gas station in -10° I went to the Toyota dealer and they cut me two keys. I go all the way back to the truck and neither key works. So then I go to Able and the guys there were very knowledgeable and Adam did a lot of research to find the right code because the code Toyota had given me was not the right one. Using the broken key, he found a code that he felt would work and cut a new key and that one worked great. Thank you guys so much! read more

Able Locksmiths came out to my house to make a duplicate key for my pickup-the same day I called. The prior one was my only key so I couldn't get to them. Because my key had a chip in it, they had to reset the program on my pickup to recognize the new key. But only took about 15 mins. I do find that they are just a tiny bit more expensive than others, not a lot though. I still choose them bc they are very knowledgable and have great customer service (never feel like a silly woman out of her league). read more

Excellent service! I called late yesterday afternoon and they were able to fit me in today. I initially requested only one lock installed but then changed my mind and replaced three. The technician had to go back to the shop and get the extra equipment needed but he was completely willing to do that to accommodate my changed plans. I expected him to reschedule but he said it wasn't necessary and took care of my entire order today although it ended up being a bigger order than they had scheduled for. Dishonest, or incompetent when it comes to sales. I cannot say anything about service. I needed a part for my Baldwin Estate series assembly. I was told by Able locksmith that they need a picture of the assembly and that they may not be able to get the part. He informed m that they will have to sell me a whole assembly and it will be expensive. Yeah, I am not your average modern man. I fix everything in my own home I know my way around the internet and I am a heavy equipment mechanic by trade. I only went to them to see if they would have it in stock. They did not, so a 5 minute search led me to find out that Baldwin has a lifetime warranty and they are aware of this particular problem. They sent me a whole rebuild kit free of charge. All the while Able locksmith is telling me,"it's going to be expensive". Want loyal customers? Be honest and if you are, get competent. Your business is locks. It is not complicated, nor do manufacturers keep their warranty a secret. read more
