Not sure that I'm qualified to write a review since Mark wouldn't answer my calls or texts to schedule a test. Well, he did answer the phone once and, without saying hello or asking why I was calling said "Take me off your list" and then hung up. To be clear, I had done nothing to tick him off--just a couple of texts and a voicemail politely asking if we could schedule a test for my teenage son. I suppose that the benefit of him cutting me off rudely was that, unlike other reviewers, we never got to the place where he could be rude to us in person. read more

I read so many bad reviews the day of my testing that I was super nervous going to my test. But it was a wonderful experience! My son arrive for the test and the instructor came complaining he was missing his lunch after we had scheduled the appointment online. He was visibly upset making my son more nervous than he was already. He was hurrying my son through the parking portion. As soon as he started to parallel park he announced he failed the test, grabbed the cones and took off as fast as he could. Save yourself the trouble and do not use this company. read more

We arrived 15 minutes prior to our scheduled appointment time. There was nothing on site in this parking lot that identified Able Testing was there. There was, however, a car with a student driver in it. My daughter parked our car near the cones set up for that student driver, but after a few moments of sitting there we decided to practice parking while we waited. After a few minutes of practicing I called the number just to verify we were in the correct place but didn't get an answer. A couple of minutes past our appointment time I became very nervous we were in the wrong place because the driving instructor and student were still engaged in what appeared to be a driving lesson. I told my daughter to pull out and go next door to the next building so we could read the address on that building. We were gone maybe five minutes, and during that time I called Able Testing again, this time leaving a call back number. We realized we were indeed in the correct place and immediately went back into the parking lot and saw the instructor driving away. Not even five minutes later we received an email from Able Testing saying that we were recorded as a no-show! We received no phone call asking if we were still coming or on our way or if that was us in the parking lot. I never did receive a return phone call in response to my message or in response to my page with my cell phone number. With so many other road test sites and instructors do not waste your time like we did. You get what you pay for and there's a reason this person obviously NEEDS to discount her pricing to stay in business. The plain truth is that she is unprofessional. And if she claims to have not seen my daughter and I parked next to her cones more than once before driving around the parking lot again--and even once directly behind her student driver when he was trying to back up--then she is completely unobservant and I wouldn't trust her anyway! What was supposed to be a celebratory afternoon turned into a huge disappointment and a waste of time and gas. Trust me, save yourself the let-down. read more

I should have read the reviews before choosing this company for my daughters driving test. First, we had a hard time finding the location. The address it tells you to go to is a school building. We drove all around the building multiple times before realizing that we needed to actually go past the building into another parking lot that you don't even know is there. We called the office three times looking for directions on where to go and no one answered or ever called us back. The instructor Mark was rude from the minute we pulled up. Our appointment time was 3:00 and we finally found the location at 3:02. He said we were supposed to be 15 minutes early and since we were now over 15 minutes late he shouldn't even be testing us. He then promptly failed my daughter for losing too many points on her parallel parking portion of the test and wouldn't even allow her on the road. So $55 down the drain. My daughter was so rudely treated and is now terrified to retake the test. We were there maybe 5 minutes. Don't waste your money. This guy clearly does not enjoy his job and is so rude! read more

No parameters reviewed until you fail the test. Then they tell you the guidelines and parameters. Horrible company. Go somewhere else!!! Retake test for another 45 dollars!!!! If guidelines are reviewed properly no need to retake the test !!! read more

I've been told Greg was a really nice guy they but they switched my instructor. During my road test, the instructor kept screaming at me when giving instructions. I was already nervous about taking the test and the sudden yellings made it worse. I had a friend who've been driving for work over a decade in the back seat because I was told I can bring a translator. The instructor doesn't even let him translate with his non-stop yelling. Following the test, They couldn't give me any other reason to fail me except that I was going a few miles too slow during a curve after exiting the highway (which my friend disagreed, but what can we do. I wish we recorded the whole thing). If I want the detailed report on why I failed, I have to wait Three months! In the meanwhile, I could go ahead and schedule a re-testing...... NOT! I schedule my road test with another company next day and passed the exam with no issue. read more

Well I would have to agree with the third opinion. I was rescheduled for a CDL A test after the school failed to send their tractor trailer. The tester was verbally rude. I had the test rescheduled and was called to confirm Tuesday at 2:30 P.M. I arrived about an hour early and another guy was scheduled for a 1:00 P.M. The tractor trailer was late and arrived at about 2:15 P.M and the tester bumped me off and tested the other guy. Afterwards I tried to get an explanation for said conduct and the tester got out of his truck and walked towards me and attempted to push me. I called law enforcement and am pursuing criminal prosecution as to this individual. I would never use able testing. read more

This is truly one of the worst businesses I've ever had the displeasure of visiting. I went in for a driving test after completing driver's ed, confident in my skills but still very cautious about driving. My experience with driver's education went very well---I was told that I was very proficient at driving. When my father and I arrived at Ypsi High School for the test, we saw some cones in the parking lot but didn't see the instructor. He was stationed on a hill on a hill on the other side of the parking lot. We drove over and introduced ourselves---he said nothing. We went back to our car to wait. A few minutes later he came down to ensure the car was in working order. He barked orders in a rough and rude manner. I let a lot of this slide---I was more interested in obtaining my license than letting someone ruin my day. The actual test was even worse. The instructor took to screaming at me over mundane things and at one point even said "you're going to get us killed." The test was short and when it was over he lectured me for ten minutes, sticking on little points like "I didn't see you turning your head enough" or "you put your turn signal on too early." I couldn't believe how loud and incensed he was---none of it was warranted. While I ended up passing the test, I'm writing this review to warn students about this company---IT'S NOT WORTH IT. Even if you're skilled at driving, the last thing a new driver needs is to be frazzled by a crabby, ignorant instructor who's more concerned with tormenting students instead of helping them. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND FINDING SOMEONE ELSE. read more

The tester will meet you in an empty parking lot with no facilities, shelter or water, where the parent or car owner must wait during the test. We arrived 5 minutes before my son's appointment. Hailey told us it would be an extra 5 minutes while he tested another student for parking, but they did that and then left the lot. Still waiting after 25 minutes in a hot car in full sun in the blacktop lot, I had to use the restroom, so we found the nearest fast food place. We were back in 10 minutes, but Hailey had already packed up the cones and unapologetically refused to conduct the test. I took the day off work for this and so did my son. Clearly Hailey believes his time is more important than that of his clients. read more

I have recommended Able Testing to several friends and realized I should come post a review! We went through All Star when my oldest was taking her driving test, but decided to check out Able this time around at the recommendation of a friend. We will definitely be using Able again when it is time for my youngest to take her turn. My son was very nervous, but Greg put him at ease right away. He was very professional but also very friendly and easy going. It was a much less stressful environment than what my oldest experienced. Greg's directions were clear and easy to follow, and he offered constructive feedback in a very helpful and encouraging way. I also appreciated that I could schedule the road test on the website with a specific instructor so we knew who to expect when we arrived. read more

I called all the testing centers and scheduled a test for my daughter with Able. They told me all the papers that I needed however we were moving and I misplaced my daughters green card that she needed. Greg was really nice and allowed me to reschedule without any problems. When we were able to do the test Greg was real kind and patient he was an awesome tester. I would recommend him to anyone. read more

I deal with Able Testing on a regular basis and find them to be fair and honest with the testing they provide. When an applicant does fail, they always provide feedback on what steps should be taken to correct the issue that caused the failure so they will be successful on their next attempt.
