Love this local Libertyville bookstore! The books offer a phenomenal cross section of different genres and cultures reflecting the diversity of the world we live in. There is a small children's section with creative, interesting books for newborns to teens and the adults section has themed sections with suggested topics. There are a few cozy seating areas where you can relax and read a bit, and the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable if you need assistance. I love this bookstore and plan to continue patronizing and ordering books directly from them rather than using other sources, to keep this community gem in business! read more

I love a good bookstore, and this one is a lovely addition to downtown Libertyville. That being said, there was a very sad realization on my visit as to why most have closed their doors in the last decade. First, I'll start with the coziness of About Time. There are places to sit and read, and the feeling of being surrounded by books is comforting. There is a large selection of books, but they are not super well organized. I found Kristin Hannah books in a few different locations. The books are generally categorized by type, and alphabetized from there. The staff is very helpful if there is something specific you're looking for. I wanted to buy a book to support this local gem, but the reality of paying double what I would have on Amazon was a tough pill to swallow. I purchased The Red Tent for list price, and it was half as much online. As an avid book reader, I love a good book store. I hope this one survives. read more

As a book collector and avid reader, I love exploring new bookstores. This one is located in the heart of Libertyville and such a fun place! When you walk in you can immediately feel the charm and there being a bookstore pup, what more is there to ask for! From best sellers, to cook books, to a fun children's section and even local authors. There's something for everyone. They even host book clubs and local events. I've bought a few of the recommended books, stickers and books for the little man that we read for bed time. Can't wait to come back and find some other fun reads soon! read more

Delanie's bookstore is a marvelous addition to downtown Libertyville! Finn, her friendly dog, will often greet you at the door and then return to his bed in the back. Delanie is great about helping you find your next read or ordering a book that isn't in stock. She won't push the most expensive option for the title you order; she'll give you options with pricing information so you can make an informed decision. There's a comfy reading area for adults towards the front and a kids play area in the back. We visit the shop every few weeks and are excited to go to upcoming book clubs and fun events that partner with other businesses in town. The store is also participating in two different independent bookstore programs this year and encouraged us to check out other stores in both programs, which I think is pretty awesome. read more

This weekend I rented About Time Bookstore for my daughter's baby shower. It was just perfect! The backdrop of the books with the white linen tablecloths and flowers was so beautiful! Delaney and her staff were a dream to work with and they did everything they possibly could to make sure that the shower was a success! They are extremely accommodating and generous! So glad to see a local bookstore in town. Great selection of books and book related items in a comfortable environment. Nice little area for kids in the back of the store. I found a new piece of fiction and an interesting non-fiction title. I'll be back! I really hope this store makes it. Mainstreet Libertyville is tough. I was extremely excited when I heard that there was going to be a bookstore opening up in Libertyville. The owner Delanie is an absolute gem of a person. You can tell just upon walking into her store that she has a genuine passion for reading and the community. We've already been many events incorporating other of the businesses in the downtown area. My favorite is the book clubs that have started up. I have now attended two of them and they have just been an absolute blast. Delanie does a good job of including different genres. I think this is excellent because I am picking up books that I normally would probably have passed over. 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND 5 read more

Love this bookstore. Compact but with a good selection. Bought three books on my to read list. Owners are super friendly and are curious about your favorite reads. She even took one of my recommendations and ordered the book for their inventory. Independent bookstores are my favorite stop. Spent at least an hour browsing titles. If I'm in the area I will definitely stop again. read more
