Within a day, Chad came out and did a complete house walk around including the attic. He provided a recommended solution including sealing all potential entry points, rat traps and a "smoke test" to detect potential bad pipes in the walls. Price was very reasonable. Turns out, a sewer vent pipe had completely rotted out. We would have only found this with that smoke test. No ideal, but we had to cut into the wall at which point we could see where the rat had come through the sewer into our house. A day later a trap caught a big rat.
