Wow what can I say! I have severe Claustrophobia and I needed a clearance for a medical procedure…read morethat I am having. I had to have a full series of Echocardiogram and Nuclear stress. The front staff is so amazing at Port Jeff Location, Ashley assured me I would get through the Nuclear test and the cat scan machine. They let me try it before having the radiation injection, and I freaked out from my claustrophobia. Frank and Rocco were very companionate about my problem and we sat and talked about getting me through the anxiety. I had no choice to get medical clearance for my surgery and they both helped me calm down and talked to me every step of the way. Today I accomplished one of my biggest fears with the help of the entire staff and I am very grateful to all of them. I thank all of you that work there, this was a very big step since I have not been able to do an MRI, Cat Scan, and get on an airplane since I was at 911. I highly recommend Island Cardiovascular and Dr. Malhotra!

- made two appointment back-to-back for myself and my then 16 year old daughter for annual physical…read more- at the "physical" we endured a bunch of unnecessary tests like EKG (what 16 year-old needs an ekg? - saw the doc together for a total of maybe 5 minutes - was prescribed medications we did not need - didn't get the incentive my emplyer gives for annual physicals because the practice didn't bill it as a physcial - had a charge in my EOB called "ENCEPHLGRM" which they told me was an EKG (I'm an RN I know that's not the code for an EKG) which of course my nsurance did not pay for bc it was not necessary - not was it performed bc I didn't have one ended up with a $400 bill PER PERSON for a physical that should be covered under my insurance!!

A new patient date would be about a month away 2. I couldn't get a physical the same day 3. They wouldn't accept my insurance 4. Every other place couldn't be bothered with me because I was new It was all so frustrating until I finally found this place!! I called on a Monday afternoon and got an appointment for Tuesday at 9am! I was able to get in, fill out all the new patient paperwork and get my entire physical done within an hour. Every single staff member that I encountered was so sweet and friendly. The doctor was thorough and kind. The waiting room, testing room and examination room were fantastically clean and decorated nicely. My husband called 911 and although I was in agony I was aware how great the ambulance people were: Amazing, and once we go to Stony Brook U Hospital everyone was terrific. I asked people their names but sorry to say I can't remember them. I will say PA Kathryn Walton was amazing. She did an awesome job stitching up my laceration, and she was so kind, professional and comforting. Dr. Brian McMahon was THE NICEST doctor! He took such great care of me. He was so considerate and I knew I was in great hands. I can't say enough wonderful things about these two physicians. Additionally, Everyone I came into contact with was amazing........nurses, aids, transport people, Xray and Cat Scan techs. I had a very long recovery, and thought about how fortunate I was to get the exceptional care that I did from all these people. God bless them, and Thank you to all of them. This was an experience I will long remember, especially because of the care I received.

Was recently a patient doing a short stay there for a needed procedure. They were very friendly…read moreprofessional and easy to work with right from the start when they booked the appointment. On the day of everyone was equally kind and professional. The admitting front desks were quick and easy to check in with. Every nurse at every step was so kind and reassuring. They were very careful and followed all procedures to ensure I was the right patient receiving the proper procedure. Even the transport staff (I think one was Jose) were so kind and did a great job keeping me calm by kindly making small talk. Nurse E. Wolff was wonderful and advocated for my wishes for me so that I could relax for the procedure. She checked in with me about directives id verbalized earlier to ensure I was receiving the kind of care I had asked for. The radiologist/tech Andrew S who operated the Fluoroscope was also excellent and kind. He made sure to add as many warmed blankets as I needed to stay comfortable in the cold room before the procedure and was obviously beyond competent and skilled at providing the imagining. Dr Benjamin Raj and Dr Giovanni Santoro had wonderful bedside manner. They were both extremely professional and informative while keeping me reassured and calm. Both were so kind and did an excellent job. The recovery room nurses were also very kind and helpful and great at their job. Overall the staff exceeded my expectations. If you need a procedure at this hospital I hope some anxiety is alleviated knowing that the staff there is kind and helpful from a human to human perspective but above all competent and skilled at their professional roles.

They insisted on doing a procedure(without his doctors consent) which put him into respiratory failure and he had to be put on machines to keep him alive. Finally released from the hospital, we met with his doctor and he told us they were NEVER contacted. We were told multiple times they "tried" to contact his doctor. Lies. Never again will we trust this hospital again.

No problems getting an appointment and the staff was friendly and helpful. An EKG was done and reviewed y Dr. B. He said it was a non-functional murmur and no medication was needed. He was personable and very clearly explained the situation. He spoke to my son as if he were his own. My son and I left his office and he told me it is unnecessary for follow up. I very highly recommend Dr. B, if a pediatric cardiologist is needed.
