We really wanted to keep the original door since it is something special but getting the hardware updated was an absolute nightmare. Hours of poring over catalogues, looking at eBay auctions trying to find vintage parts brought up nothing. I spoke with at least four different locksmiths in town including some who specialize in old houses and absolutely nothing came of it. We had actually gotten to the point where we were going to give up and look at having a replacement door made so we could have modern hardware that will allow us to properly lock our front door. We found Rocky Mountain door by pure chance and after a couple of phone calls and in about two weeks, the original door was taken down taken to their shop and had nice modern hardware fitted to it and I think the door is ready for another hundred years. I am really looking forward to working with them on several other projects we have around the house. I give them my wholehearted, unrestrained and unequivocal endorsement.

After that their service and attitude only warrants 1 star. They loaded the french door unto the pick up bed Box. They had trouble with securing it. I told him I had to get to Laurel with it. "You'll be fine" Unfortunately I made it about 2 miles down the road, when I actually saw the tie down give way. Pulled over by 32nd/Central, 2 nice gentlemen from State Farm came out and assisted. But again, I made it another mile before the tie-down gave way. I called my husband and son, and the three of us spent another hour reloading the door and securing it properly. When I called to let them know loading was NOT good, it was a flippant "sorry about that". When I called back to speak with the owner, he gave me only excuses why it was my trucks fault. I really wanted for them to apologize and remember NOT TO LOAD the next vehicle like that. The door installed really nice. They built a good product, in a short amount of time. So I spent money locally, (which is good) they had the product to me quickly (another point), the product is excellent in quality (no air leaks) but service and customer satisfaction is thumbs down. I had an interior french door to purchase, which I did at the local Lowe's store, they missed those $$

My door was a special order and as we all know most businesses sell special orders as non returnable. Even in my business where special orders are an everyday occurrence, I fully understand the implications. Win-Dor made an exception and offered to order a new door and exchange the incorrect one at no cost to me. I want to thank the owner and salesperson for taking the time to hear me out and to offer this solution. What wasn't said in my original post that I would like to be known is, from the time of my quote to when I picked up the door my salesperson went above and beyond. Offering options and solutions to my design that would allow me to get what I wanted for within my budget. Actually, what he offered that I could afford was beyond my expectations. I am truly thrilled with the overall project even tho we had a bump in the road. Win-Dor had no obligation to return my door and they could have sent me walking today. What they did today was turn an un-happy customer into a very happy and thrilled customer. I feel confident enough with Win-Dor and it's staff and their abilities to refer all my clients to them for doors and windows. I deleted my original review because I felt as if now it's a mute point. I would ask anyone who read, liked or commented on the original post to please consider Win-Dor for your next project. They made it right and after all that's really what matters in the end. I was first impressed with his promptness to my phone call. Devin has great communication skills and kept me informed on the details of each project, costs, the time he would arrive, etc. (and always arrived on time.) His awesome attention to detail and work ethic were much appreciated. He installed a new door, frame and trim, realigned and fixed a front entry door and fixed a back garage door, plus repaired several other household items on my To-Do list. He did a great job! I hired him a second time as I needed an attic access door cut and installed in my garage, plus I needed him to seal off a ceiling in my utility room. Everything Devin did was done efficiently, correctly, on time and to my satisfaction. (He also cleans up the workspace after he's finished.) His estimates are reasonable and he's an all-around nice guy! Highly recommend!
