I have purchased three pool enclosures from Absolute Aluminum. Two in 2004 after Hurricane Charley. Those were done well with zero issues. The third was completed Nov. 2024 post Ian. The design and materials are adequate. The engineering, installation and finishing detail is low grade. There were several adjustments that needed to be made to get the gutters and downspouts to carry rainwater away from the building. The field crew just didn't have the know-how to fix them all. The back office tried to coach the crew on the phone and was successful in some repairs. But out of frustration I finally hired a local aluminum gutter company to fix it. Today was the first heavy rain. More leaks. Water poured through where the gutter meet the wall, flowed down the exterior wall and through my glass doors and flooded the back of my house, ruining much and creating an expensive mess. I will call my trusted local aluminum gutter company again to fix this, NOT ABSOLUTE ALUMINUM. And then I will call my lawyer. read more

After the hurricane we had a bent post on our pool cage. I talked to several cage repair companies and eventually settled on Absolute Aluminum after getting estimates from the three companies. Absolute Aluminum had the best price overall. While I wasn't only concerned with cost I wanted to ensure I had a good repair. They replaced my post with a 4 by 4 post versus the 2 by 2 which will hopefully hold up to the storms better. Josh F did our repair and he was extremely friendly and helpful and did a fantastic job on the repair. Will absolutely look to them again should the need arise. read more

I contacted Absolute Aluminum to have them install new concrete and put up a cage. The concrete installation was a horror show. They decided to pour the concrete right before a huge rain. The concrete never set up properly and as a result there were big marks in the concrete from 2x4 s and plastic they put on to try to keep the concrete dry They attempted to fill in the concrete with some type of filler. Next they offered to put a texture down and then paint over it to make it look better I agreed. However the concrete was not etched properly or something because the paint kept chipping off. They tried to fix a few spot's however more paint kept chipping. Once they got their money they were not as eager to help. I gave up on them and had someone else fix my concrete read more

I have an electric awning that was under warranty and called Absolute for service. On 11/7/23 a team came to my home and determined that the motor needed to be replaced and would order a new one. On 1/23/24, 2/7/24, and 2/15/24, I contacted Absolute to inquire about the status and was told it had not yet arrived. On 2/23/24 I again contacted the office and was told they had lost the order and would re-order it anticipating delivery in 4 weeks. On 4/25/24 I called Absolute and was told the motor hadn't yet arrived. On 6/4/24 a team came to my home to install the motor and found that it did not work. Another motor was ordered. On 9/24/24 and 10/2/24 I spoke with the service manager who indicated he would check on the status and contact me later that day. He did not, still has not, nor have I received the email from scheduling that he said was coming. On 10/14/24 I again contacted Absolute and was told that due to the hurricanes the service manager was not taking calls and that they would let him know I had called. I recognize that after the hurricanes other people have far more pressing needs than the replacement of an awning motor, however, it has now been more than a year since I started trying to obtain a warranty replacement. I would expect that after first losing my order and after so much time had passed since beginning this process, I would have at least earned the courtesy of a return call. Absolute was great when selling me our lanai and once they get to the house the service technicians are courteous and do good work. Unfortunately, I have not had the same experience or follow through with the office. read more

I will start out by saying that about 3 years ago we had a clear view screen done by Absolute Aluminum, and we were very happy with the work they did and the service they provided. Something has changed and not for the better. We had a rip in our lanai screen which needed repair. After calling and speaking to a snarky receptionist who accused me of calling twice already and telling me I'll get a call back. I did get a call back only to be told that all repairs are going on a list and when they are ready, they will email me back to see if we still needed the work done (no time frame given at all) and a requirement for a $150 deposit. Well after not even realizing if I'd be called back or when, I called another screening company who got back to me immediately, scheduled my repair for the same day (today) and the cost was LESS than what AA asked for a deposit, and has a 5 year warranty. So I will not be going back to Absolute Aluminum for anything else. They should really focus on Customer service as a starting point!! read more

Absolute Aluminum installed a small cage over my hot tub prior to Hurricane Ian. The cage held up well, with some damage to two corner uprights and a few horizontal sections. I was in Venice and stopped in to get on the repair list , which was growing by the minute. I was impressed by the size and cleanliness of their facility, given that they were also affected by hurricane winds. The office staff was pleasant and immediately responsive to my request for service. Looking forward to having my cage rebuilt ! read more

I'm having a project done at this time and so far not impressed. My entryway is missing a removable screen for hoses and electrical cables, I'm under no illusion my salesman cares. He recommended a irrigation guy that charged for a quote, wanted more money to cap the lines then quit when I asked for a receipt for the $1,000 total he was charging after he told me it was easy and would be no more than $400. I told my salesman what happened and he said he would find someone for me but didn't bother, said he'd call, didn't bother. Wish id have read this first, I was going off their reputation when they did work at my parents years ago. They came to start my gutters today, as per e mail, which I agree isn't customer friendly at all, they measured, sat by the truck, sat in the truck, then left, not one gutter up. Absolute Aluminum has a good reputation in the Sothwest Florida area, but I had a terrible experience. After waiting 9 months they left me with an improperly pitched floor. The water pools in this particular spot. I try to brush it away but eventually mold forms. The cimpany says it passes the nickel test. This means the water does not cover a nickel. However, after a hard rain that nickel will be covered many times. $11,000 !! Give me a break!! read more

This company used to be a great company,sadly it is not anymore. Originally we both our house with a pool cage built by Absolute Aluminum about 10 years ago,that is why we choose to go with the same company to have our lanai and pool cage extended. We had our lanai extension done by Absolute Aluminum at 2016 August (2 years ago). Now while they were doing the job we had some concerns,like an unsightly,crooked deco drain across the lanai floor clearly showing where exactly the extension is.It is such an eyesore!They said it can not be taken out or moved because it won't serve it purpose. We had an original cool deck, Absolute Aluminum repainted the whole lanai floor,the paint what they used was cheap or badly mixed,after months of application it was still sticky to the touch and attract the dirt-like pollen,dust,footprints-so much more then the original paint on the lanai floor. After a few months the concert started to crack in several places on the new concrete-Absolute Aluminum said it is normal,I only should worry when I can drop a penny in the cracks!!!! After 2 years almost all the screws are rusted. On a white lanai cage it is very noticeable! We started to change the screws ourself to the nylon top screw,which are much more durable.We payed a lot of money for this job to be done,I don't know why they couldn't do the nylon top screws at the beginning,even if it is more we would of pay the extra to the better look and durability. On top of that where the new extension starts the aluminum floor beams are noticeable bent not 90 degrees. I would not recommend to use Absolute Aluminum! Save yourself the headache and look for a better company to install your pool cage! read more

I had Absolute Aluminum add 10 feet of living Area on my pool cage and a new pool cage as well. I had no problem whatsoever with the old one; just needed more room. They did the concrete for the extension. From the first day it rained we get 3/4 inch standing puddles; mud pours in. This never happened before and have never seen any other pool cage It is Horrific! I have called repeatedly and they do nothing. I have holes that leak right on my indoor outdoor carpeting. Here are some photos of what they have done. We were new to the area and a neighbor of ours works for them and told us what great work they do. When I received my bid in Dec 2020 I was given a company promo which said that they focus on 1. Solid education which was met. 2. Solid communication which is there worst area of focus. They did not call or email changes in the install date. A tech showed up one day, sat in his truck and reported that no one was at home. I was sitting 10 feet from the door watching him. He did not knock or ring my door bell. 3. Solid installation, the final install was great and passed city inspection. The final install occurred 3 weeks after the original projected install week. Customer service is non existent. Our new cage that is only one year old has screws come out in two of the sections and a third screen got damaged from one that came out of the frame. This section was done at the end of the day and we feel it was not well put together. We have no idea when it will be fixed. They are going after the people that need an entire new cage as that is where the money is. Would I recommend them to anyone, NO. If you have telephoned them once, please do not call again!!!!!!! I would leave a zero star rating if possible. What good is a company if they don't stand behind what they manufacture. We had Bahama Shutters installed in 2015. Sold on them being aluminum, powder coated, virtually no maintenance required. Well, they have faded tremendously and have chip marks, flaking material on some areas where the powder didn't adhere well. Took them 4 weeks to come look and then deny the claim. No where on their warranty does it exclude any fading from the sun. I was told by a Ryan Manual that "I cannot control the weather". You manufacture a product in Florida to be placed in the Florida sun with a five year warranty! What good is it when you just have a blanket statement to deny any and all claims. We're 100% satisfied. We wanted one continuous vinyl awning spanning 30 feet and extending four feet from our house at the lanai. Here in Florida, that awning must be able to withstand hurricane level winds and be carefully constructed as well as carefully installed. It was costly as we wanted the much quieter vinyl material and powder coated frame to match our pool structure but considering the quality and workmanship, a fair price. Botched job! Gutters were pitched wrong and there is always a lot of standing water in them. Apparently, the Installers don't understand that water will not flow uphill. The gutters also belly out in spots. Very poor installation. Their scheduling is a joke. They keep sending emails telling you what week they will show up and expect you to be available "towards the end of the week". Get someone else who knows what they're doing and has the courtesy to give you an actual scheduled day for installation. read more

I signed my contract to expand our patio and gave a $2,000 deposit on June 1 , 2020. Made an $11,000 "draw" payment in August. The project is projected to be completed this November. If I knew it was going to take 6 months to complete a project of this nature I would have gotten other bids. If you want to go 3 months without use of your patio this is your contractor. read more

The salesman (John) who came out and to give estimate said he would get back to us with a proposal within a week, well 2 weeks went by and no proposal no call back. I left several messages on his cell phone which he never returned, I called the company directly (twice) and all they did was put me through to his cell phone again which I left messages still NO call back! Yesterday I received an email from John saying after further considering the job we decided not to do it. ? When we met onsite he said this was a standard job and would get it in production but could take 6 months, we were ok with the time frame. Gulfgate Rescreening, the best. Have some areas on the cage where paint has come off. Absolute Aluminum did a rescreen about 2 years ago and did not tell me that if I wanted to consider repainting the cage that was the time to do it. Repainting requires the screens to be out. Gulfgate Rescreening was just here for an estimate. I told him the screens were only about 2 years old. Being entirely ethical he suggested leaving the cage alone as it was not economically correct to remove and replace the screens to allow the cage to be painted. He told me how to spot paint the cage if I desired. The aluminum would not deteriorate if I did not spot paint. Shame on Absolute Aluminum and cudos to Gulfgate Rescreening. Dr Gary Glick read more

Had someone out to our home for a quote on 1/15 and was promised to hear from them by the end of the weekend. On Monday the 18th I emailed the company to ask about the quote. Today is 1/27 and I have never heard a peep from them. If my job was too small...at least tell me your not interested in my business. Very disappointed. So far not impressed for the top dollar we paid. The paver install had to be redone and the paver company ruined part of my grass which was totally AVOIDABLE. My husband spoke to Ryan and he assured us he would replace it with sod if it didn't grow back within 3 weeks. We'll it's been 6 weeks and we have to keep following up to no avail. We went with AA because we didn't want any issues and were willing to pay more $ to get that. Not happy at all. We just had our gutters replaced by Junior and Kenrick... We were promised that it would be done on a Monday as we were leaving on the coming Friday. Owing to an enormous workload this time of the year rather than putting us off they came over and did the job on Sunday. From sales through scheduling and execution of the job promises were kept. Were it not for James, the field manager, I'd be giving this company only 1 star. The structure itself is fine. Getting it completed was a nightmare until James finally met with us, and we informed him of the circus we were experiencing. "Tomorrow" is their favorite word, but it really doesn't mean tomorrow. Scheduling and communication is ridiculous. We waited 6 months for our scheduled tear out date so they could begin, only to learn that permit and engineering protocol had not been done. That delayed the process another 6 weeks. Workers could not communicate. We had some rotten wood issues, which we corrected ourselves on weekends so we would NOT hold up scheduling, but again, for many days scheduling texted us "tomorrow". Those are only some of the issues, but James assured us he would fix all the issues and apologized that we had endured such bad customer service, scheduling and communication. He needs to kick some butt. read more

I have only written one other review in my life but felt this one had to be said to hopefully prevent someone else from being potentially taken. I had Absolute replace existing gutters, add several new gutters and install gutter guard over all of them. They had a 10-12 week lead time but they told me I did not need to be there for the work so I headed back North. Upon my return in the Fall, 3 months later, I immediately noticed several issues...one gutter was leaking and caused mold to grow on my tile walkway from the standing water; several of the anchoring screws did not go into the fascia and split the wood and looked horrible and one of the downspouts was misaligned and not draining properly. I immediately called my salesman... it took 4 days to hear back and that was only because I called again. In the meantime I had climbed a ladder to figure out why the gutter was leaking and noticed there was no gutter guard installed anywhere on the front of the house and the one section installed on the back was the wrong color. Bottom line, it took two visits by a tech and supervisor ( two days of my vacation time sitting at my house waiting for their "service window) and then MANY phone calls and escalation to the owner to finally get the issues corrected... a third day of vacation missed...and all in all 3 weeks from the date of my original call. The leaking gutter, come to find out, had not been sealed AND was pitched in the wrong direction... away from the end with down spout. Ultimately everything was corrected but had I not climbed a ladder I never would have known several hundred dollars of gutter guard was missing. I wonder how many people especially elderly folks might have the same issue. I was told they would make it up to me for all of the time I spent on the phone and with wasted service calls etc but 2 months later... nothing. Gave two stars instead of one because they ultimately fixed everything but would not recommend them. If for some reason you do pick them make sure you are there to supervise and you climb a ladder to make sure you receive everything you paid for! read more

Bob McAllister the salesman/estimator is well informed and patient. Chris and James, who headed the installation (really on-site manufacturing) team, were capable and conscientious. Lord have mercy on them: they are Predatory-priced vendors in a retiree market. Making way too much money off old people. Gonna report a C-minus rating to BBB. They only do sales-person visits for product installs - so the sales guys get 40% or more commission on your project. STAY AWAY! Product and installation is off-the-shelf or DIY quality. Our screen has almost 3/4ths un-sealed edges and lets lizards and rain pour in! Go to Lowes or Home Depot or anybody else you can find what your screening needs. read more
