Do not expect anyone to care if the office makes a billing mistake. I have called and communicated many times with their staff and they just can't be bothered. They put the incorrect billing codes for the procedure and taxpayer-id for the provider and then required me to pay the difference to continue receiving treatment. Of course once they got payment they did absolutely nothing to help. How hard is it to find the correct numbers and then send the corrected claim? I know insurance is a pain too, but there have been over a dozen claims with no incident and they have been clear that a corrected form would resolve the issue. read more

I have no complaint with Dr. Carpenter. He does excellent work and is very personable. However, and this is a major pissed off however; the office billing people are cheating corrupt people. I had an appointment on January 14 to evaluate what could be done about the crown that fell out. I had an x-ray and a limited oral evaluation. I received a bill today, January 29 for $905. The total cost of the film and evaluation is $58, per their statement They have the audacity to bill me in advance for work I did not receive. Why the hell do they do this? Is it so they can cheat you out of more money? I reluctantly paid $214 to them for a bill I did not owe on a previous statement because again, they billed me in advance of actual services rendered. Their response to any question about padding the bill and overcharging is always , "it's the insurance company". So these corrupt cheating office staff are charging me $905 for walking in the office. One would think I had learned my lesson the first time they charged me $214 dollars and blamed it on the insurance company. Rather than have my 830 credit rating ruined by their corrupt billing practices, I paid the $214. MY NEXT STEP WILL BE SMALL CLAIMS COURT. AND THEY WILL LOSE. read more

OUCH!! Looking for new dentist with my insurance carrier. They offered a routine x-ray and cleaning appointment in less than three weeks. When I found a smaller locally owned dental office that could squeeze me in faster I took the oppertunity. It took me thee phone calls, two cancellation vea text reminders rejections to cancell so the space could be used for others. They are a mega corperation with many dentists and offices. So the staff hand to surch for 20 min to locate the correct office, time and dentist assigned to me, Evan after I told them the details. Improvements: 1. I think it's time for a class action law suit with these people. I've never been to them and will never attempt to after what I witnessed with my friend. He had a very bad abscess tooth in front & after missing work for two days was in so much pain, had to go in for emergency . He wanted to go into the Carson City office because it was so close to us and they take walk in emergency's . Walked in at 8:30 and walked out telling me they could not take him until 11:00. Back 10m before 11 & I waited for him across the street. After 2 hours I went to check on him, figured they had to pull tooth-- they said he was speaking with surgeon and almost done. After 30 min came out more in pain -- asked him did they pull tooth-- NO! Did they drill a hole in tooth to relieve pain-- NO! He was in so much pain he was yelling at me, saying he didn't want to talk, said he was hurting to bad. Then he told me the stuck a mold in his mouth and he gagged so they had to do something else. I freaked--- why were they making a mold?? He said he thinks they are going to try to give me dentures, said he signed something on an iPad -- thought it was for treating him for abscess then came in shoving puddy in his mouth. Just take me to Walmart so I can pick up medication. Dropped off prescription , will take 45 min so take me home !! Laying on couch in agony-- asked if he wanted me to pick up medication he said , No, I already went and got! He was screaming, telling me to leave him the F$&@ alone so I did. I knew he had not gotten medication so I went to pick up-- he couldn't have gone cause he had not gotten medication gas in his car. Got back with amoxicillin only and told him he better take two immediately -- not sure if or when he did. Later I heard him moaning on front porch couch. Went out to see if ok. He said, take me to Emergency , I just passed out, hit my head, I'm going to need pain medication! They did not give him any at dentist ??? Omg!!! His face was swollen on one side from his mouth up to his eye & he had a black eye! I rushed him to emergency, he was out in 30 min, said they gave him a pill while he was in there and a prescription was called in. Went and picked up pain meds & finally about 2 hours later I heard no more moaning. Next day he was feeling better but still had pain! I drove to dentist and went in to ask if they could give him stronger antibiotic as he seems to be resistant to Amoxicillin now!! They said No -- it takes 24-48 hours to kick in! Have to wait 48 hours, still in pain call us. I told him he tried and could not understand the foreign language the spoke. After a few days I asked him what the mold was for and he said they said I can get dentures for 3600.00 and I have such good insurance I will only pay 20% of that. I used to be an insurance underwriting assistant so I told him better let me look at info to see if you're not understanding something --- well to end this long story. He had appointment to extract what teeth he has left to find out it was for another consultation with another surgeon at another office scheduled for 11:00 was text to come in at 10:00 we got there & they said come back at 11:00 we didn't text you it must of been other office --/ surgeon had no idea he had already had temporary dentures done 2500$ and gave another estimate for extractions costing 5,000$. Had a 50$ co pay but paid 64.00. What was extra 14.00 for a tip? Went back to talk to original office to see what the hell was going on and found out he must come up with 5,000$ up front before they will extract teeth. Insurance not billed for anything yet! Insurance won't pay for temp dentures and permanent ones too! So there's 8,000$ approx out of pocket then will have to go back 4-5 times before finally done at 140$ a pop. So let's say 10,000$ before he's done out of pocket for dentures he believed would be less than 1000$ out of pocket --- time to lawyer up I'd say! They should of just fixed what he went in there for and not pushed him in to any obligation when he's 64 years old and in severe pain --- then they said they don't give pain medications. WHAT??? My wisdom tooth cracked in December 2023, I didn't have any Wisdom going to Absolute Dental. I'll ship early 2024 visit cause I felt I needed coverage. Ship to Late November 2024 I had to visits that I used my new Ameritas insurance. 1st Visit I paid $39.99 plus $51.00 that the advertised 2nd visit I paid $136.99. That day I got charged for checking this an that another ex ray like the first one they took needed another one, but since the sergent was in house they had me see him as well. So I literly had both of these people speaking to me at the same time an they charge me though this confusion. Then they refuse to pull my tooth until I got a note from my Doctor. The new heath care an doctor didnt start until January so i had to wait, end of January I got the note an walked around the corner to college drive in carson city nv. An hand delivered the notice. By the time i got home they called an left a appointment for mid February (Longer Wait with painful cracked tooth) 2 days before the appointment A text said Reno office but I filled out there paperwork saying there carson city Location was my preferred office. I even said no to topsy lane. (I have no car so I must stay local) So I had to cancel that appointment an make another for 3 weeks later but told them it must be carson city location. Then like a bad Joke my mouth wouldnt open all I could eat was noodles, then 2 days before surgery the carson Location computers were down an I had to except getting surgery at there topsy lane location. One I got there I told them my mouth couldnt open but they went there routines to charge me. Another xray weight Etc... then a guy trys to get me to do all 4 molers in one day. To cut it short I told them i just needed the doctor to look at my mouth tell me I cant have surgery today give me the meds an I'll be ok. No they cant get money that way, they sent this person in who asked who was my doctor for a operation I had in 2010. I felt they were doing the same thing that the other doctor did. Then i finally saw the doctor he checks my mouth an starts speaking to me as if I knew Id have to come back after all this. So I got up the Dentist runs out they office like a scared child. They new no surgery was gonna happen to day they just wanted to put on more charges to make a bill an have me come back probably 3 weeks later. I got upset I felt they didnt care about my year an a half long Pain. Plus I wasted $116.00 I had to pay Eden hearth to take me there an bring me home after surgery. Dryden DDS, PLLC 1470 Medical Pkwy Suite 140, Carson City, NV 89703 One visit with Mrs Park a visit with Mr Dryden an 3 weeks later my Surgery. An he told me if I think I'm getting a infection just come in he'll give me a prescription for meds so we have no delays with my Appointment. It was so easy an fast that I knew if I had Wisdom they were the ones to go to. My insurance wasn't the greatest but it helped my bill be hundreds of dollars cheaper Than Absolute Dental. I wouldn't give this place a recommendation to anyone. They just hustle you for your money. I hope this review helps others, I was in such pain for a year an a half, I cried like a baby. I made a new patient appointment over a month in advance and they called me close to my appointment to tell me that they messed up scheduling and need to move my appointment to another day. I arrived for my 2pm appointment 10m early. They never even gave me my paperwork (??), I had to ask for it after I had already been waiting there 30m. Went back for an adjustment as I was having trouble eating due to the thickness of my replacement teeth after gum shrinking. When I was able to eat after the setting time for the adhesive I almost cried at how easy it was to swallow again. Went back for the permanent crown, Dr. Carpenter, fitted it and did a fantastic fitment job. While he was installing it, I could feel some pressure with the tooth to the left and right, Dr. Carpenter filed and fitted it so it dropped in and felt like it wasn't even there. Then he glued it and it felt great after. Dr. Carpenter knows his job and does it so well, I want to return to him for future dental work. His assistant are great and so friendly, it's a real pleasure going into this dental office, so I'm sold with Absolute Dental and with Dr. Carpenter, the best in the business bar none. Absolutely terrible all around. My 6 year old daughter is neurodivergent and I told them that when I called and was assured the pediatric dentist would be wonderful with her. When we got there They took her back for X-ray and said they would come get me when they were done so I could be there for the exam. I sat in the waiting room for over 20 minutes before I heard my daughter screaming for me... they never came to get me so I walked back to X-ray where they told me I couldn't be there. Finally they saw she wasn't going to be able to regulate without me and offered me a vest for radiation. By that point whatever they had done to her was too much because she was crying and gagging on her tears and couldn't even sit for a cleaning. They completely disregarded her and treated her like she should be able to behave like a normal child when she literally can't. They didn't work with us to figure out a way to help her and instead traumatized her. She cried for hours about how scared she was of the dentist. She had previously been to other pediatric dentists in California with no issues and has since been seen another dentist who was patient with her and her trauma from this place. After the ordeal I called the area manager and complained and asked to be removed from their call list. She apologized and said she would but obviously didn't because I got a call today from these people to remind us to come back in for another appointment. When I called and told them I was supposed to be taken off the list they shuffled me to different people and ultimately made it not their problem because "they don't work in that department and the manager is at lunch." Worst office and customer service I have ever encountered and I work in the service industry. Some weird woman is walking around the office looking at people's X-ray without a lab coat, name it tag or anything. I asked who she was and apparently she is a doctor. The people here have no empathy for a person whose tooth is broken and is in terrible. I was treated poorly by the front desk. They just didn't care about myself or the next person who was in line. ONE STAR IS TO MANY This dentist did a really bad root canal on my daughters molar three years ago. He only did three roots and said the couldn't complete the work. The tooth was worse then he thought. Put on temp crown and told her to go to specialist. But not one dentist would work on the tooth and kept telling her to go back to original dentist. After three years of being ignored and denied help she has now turned 21 so it's no longer eligible for repair. Temp crown has also come off since then and tooth is exposed and she is in excruciating pain. So she went to dentist and begged them to pull the tooth. They said sure. I waited almost 10 years to take care of my teeth. I had a broken front tooth and well they were just bad! I feared that if I were to get all my to teeth pulled that I would regret it, what if the dentures didn't fit and looked crazy on me, I Was Petrified, so I suffered for years. I came in to Absolute to talk to them about it and Dr Carpenter made me feel confident and I honestly trusted him so I did it. I went well over 10 years Not Smiling and constantly hiding my teeth, feeling ashamed and embarrassed but now I have a beautiful smile and I want to smile again! The process was about 6 to 7 months but the entire office on market st made me feel welcome and comfortable. They tried to lie to me when they told me i had to pay extra to have all my teeth X - rayed and i would have to pay $35 in cash, even though i checked and medicaid covers it. I would give 0 stars if possible even negative stars. I had to cancel a cleaning, I did it the day before my appointment, and was informed there would be a $50 cancellation fee because of not canceling 24 hours in advance. I was fine with this, and asked if I needed to come in to fill paper work or anything out to get my refund (since I had already paid for the cleaning) I was told no and they would process it themselves. I wish I could remember the lady's name I was speaking with. But she was one of the receptionist. She was so rude and had an attitude the whole time going through the process of the cancellation. Long story short they never processed the refund so when I noticed that I called back and was informed they had to do it all over and it'd take up to 6 more weeks. Came in with receding gums, Dr. did a full check, including feeling my exterior throat and face to make sure there were no bumps. I never leave reviews on anything but I want people to really listen to the bad reviews about this place because I didn't. PLEASE DONT GO HERE THERES OTHER OPTIONS. First of all, I waited over an hour in my car which whatever they're behind I get it, it's annoying but that's not even the part I'm mad about. I went in for a chipped molar that wasn't really causing me pain but i wanted to see my options and get a cleaning. After waiting another hour in the office, the doctor came in and said it oh well I think you need a root canal and crown but let me look at it and see. So he grabbed a tool and sprayed some like ice cold spray on it and said here let me see how much this hurts so I know if you need a root canal. How does that help? So he pressed it on the broken part of my tooth which was extreme pain right away, and just said yep that's bad you need this this and that which is 3000 dollars here's a bunch of credit cards you can apply for too to pay for it. I'm writing this review because I'm currently in so much pain now, from a tooth that never hurt in the first place, I can't eat and I can't drink anything cold or hot. This man is a scam artist please don't go here. I wish there was someone I could talk to about this and get my tooth fixed, because he literally caused damage to the nerves and I'm in so much pain now having to probably just go get it removed somewhere else. read more

I had dental cleaning done today. I felt at ease and things went well. Jamillan was my dental tech, highly recommended.

While the staff was very polite, I did not really enjoy spending 2 hours with them without any treatment. I called for gum pain and was offered a last minute cancellation for 10:30 am that day. I arrived at 10:15 am to fill out paperwork as I am a new patient. I then sat quietly until 11:15 and asked if I could expect service anytime soon. I am new in town so I wasn't sure if this was standard practice. I was told that since I was a walk-in/emergency they would accommodate me as soon as possible. I didn't understand this since I had taken someone's cancellation. Finally around 11:45 the hygienist took me back and started on a full set of x-rays. Around 12:15 I finally got tired of waiting and decided to just cut my losses and leave. They said I had to wait for x-rays, and they were almost done. I just told them I didn't have two more hours to waste and walked out. They tried to schedule the cleaning for me but they were booked for 12 more days and I just didn't have the patience at that point to even think about coming back. read more

Beware these crooks and scammers! When I went to Absolute Dental to get a tooth extracted I first talked to the front desk receptionist and explained I was poor and would be paying cash so needed an estimate for costs. She gave me an estimate and explained it could be around $100 more than the estimate depending on work needed. I had enough money on me so I went ahead with the extraction. Of course that was after putting up with 30 minutes of both the assistant and the dentist trying to pressure me into getting $44,000 worth of work that they would gladly finance, I finally demanded they just pull the damn tooth that I originally told them I could only afford. When done, I went to the front counter to pay the bill. The bill did come to about $85 more than the estimate. I asked again if this was THE TOTAL bill and was assured by her that it was. I again asked her if there were going to be any "hidden or surprise" charges later. She again assured me that no there would not be. The bill she gave me was THE TOTAL bill for the visit and extraction and that there were no other charges. I paid the bill with cash with that understanding that it was THE TOTAL and there were no other charges. (I did this because numerous reviews of these guys stated they love to add on "hidden" fees later) All fees/charges were paid in full at the time of my visit. All fees/charges were paid for in cash at the time of my visit and all fees/charges were repeatedly checked by me and guaranteed to be the total fees/charges by Absolute Dental's billing person who took my payment and gave me my receipt. What happens months later? I get a notice in the mail that I magically owe another $95!! I called and asked them what it was for and no one could give me an answer. I repeated to them everything I said above and was told by the Absolute Dental billing person on the phone that "it must have been a mistake and would be taken care of". What do I get today in the mail? A collection notice. Looks like I get to go tell this to a judge. At least when I go I'll have a stack of reviews and complaints printed out with me to show that this is a common scam tactic by them. read more

I was a new patient for Absolute Dental in July 2019. I went in for my first appointment and x-rays. I was scheduled for a filling for one tooth. The clinic had a new contract dentist due to my dentist being on leave. That dentist was awful, she was mean to the other employees, snippy with patients and did awful work. In fact, she scratched the enamel on one of my other teeth. I noticed it when it happened and when I got home and was checking out my teeth. I called the clinic the next day to report my concern. I set a follow-up appointment to get it checked by my regular dentist. That dentist looked at it and said it shouldn't cause me any issues, even though I could feel the indention on my tooth. I later received a bill for the first appointment, which I already paid my copayment and the insurance billed. I contacted billing and they said I owed another $100. I requested the records and found that the dentist reported I declined treatment for the tooth that was damaged. I shouldn't have to pay an additional $100 for poor care and falsifying my medical record. Avoid Absolute Dental if you care for your teeth. read more

My daughter had to take her family here due to changes in insurance. She was the first appointment with her 3 young sons. She waited an hour. A girl came out and said the boys were being very rowdy, the dr. didn't realize there were 3 and it would be too much for her. (She's a ped dr and she can't handle kids???) So they gave my daughter a referral to a pediatric dentist, without even seeing the boys! Why advertise that they have pediatric dentists and then refer them somewhere else. Not too mention, making her wait for an HOUR before even talking to her. NOT COOL!!! read more

I went there for the first time yesterday and it was very nice. Until I actually got to meet the dentist. The wait time was awful and they don't have much to offer in terms of entertainment while you wait, such as magazines. (They only had older issues of Spanish magazines.) But it gets worse from there. When I actually got called back, I expected the check-up to be rather quick, seeing as I was a newer patient and they didn't have to do much. But it took much longer than it should have because the hygienists and dentists kept getting distracted by things unrelated to the patient (I was just sitting in the chair, doing nothing while they just stood around and talked about irrelevant subjects or watched tv.) Once I was finished, I walked back to the waiting room and noticed that my sister hadn't even been called in. Once she did, it took even longer for them to examine her. I wasn't too surprised, because she has braces, but still. Turns out, they removed the wires from her braces, without permission from her orthodontist. Then, they literally lost the wires they weren't supposed to have removed in the first place. So, yeah. I don't suggest going there, and neither does Mountain Dental. read more
