One thing led to another and our new home was move-in ready in November 2020. We couldn't be happier with the build. We found Kerns to be easy to work with, flexible, and responsive. We were new to homebuilding and thus had numerous questions throughout the process. We didn't always get the answer we wanted but we always got an answer. Of importance was the quality of work and although I am neither in construction nor design, I can attest to the quality workmanship thanks to friends who are. Worth noting is that Kerns employs an in-house designer and we found her profoundly helpful. Contrast that with run-of-the-mill builders who instruct you to go "pick out what you want" and you can see the value in having someone dedicated to that space and willing to guide you. As one would expect, we have had minor issues since moving in but they have all been addressed in a timely, efficient, and effective manner. Again, we couldn't be more pleased with our new home and highly recommend Kerns Homebuilders for all the right reasons. Trust me - you'll feel right at home.

Chad quoted me under $1k to 'replace' an A/C line. I offered to pay for the part the day before the…read morerepair. He said, "No. We're good. You do not have to pay for the part up front. It will be here tomorrow morning." The next morning I dropped my car off. Around 3:30 Chad called & advised me the car was done. Told me the amount owed as quoted the day before. Said, "My dad will be here when you arrive to pickup your car. I am leaving for the day." Went to pick up my car. Chad was gone. Carol, his dad told me, "Yeah. We couldn't replace the line with a new one. They could not get it in. Chad welded the A/C line instead." My issue is that Chad was not professional enough to call & advise me that the part would not be in, or that he could not get it in. And that he could perform a weld. And guess what? The price did not change. Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. St. Joe Radiator got me once but lost future business. What's funny is that I was going to send 2 more vehicles to them. They ate good once but screwed themselves out of 2 more jobs.
