I had started going to Absolute Smile on Harbison Avenue in the summer of 2009. At that time, their office was nearby on Bustleton Avenue. I had just visited another dentist in Northeast Philadelphia and had a most unpleasant experience. Not only was the dentist stern and unfriendly, but he wanted to start by pulling ALL my upper teeth and fitting me with a new denture.. He would pull all my teeth on a single day and immediately fit me with a new denture, It was easy to see that this was LITTLE WORK FOR HIM but BIG PROFIT!!! I could visualize his hands wringing in anticipation of the next step of removing all my lower teeth as well. Sure I needed new dentures, and there was bone loss, but was this my only alternative? I had just the opposite experience when I visted Dr. Alla Fishman's office at Absolute Smile on Bustleton. Dr. Fishman of course was aware of the bone loss, but her approach was quite different. It was in fact necessary to pull just one of my teeth, an abscessed one. She and her staff painstakingly worked to get my dental work done. I had a long series of visits to her office, but at the end of the process, I still had my teeth, better dental hygiene, and new upper and lower dentures. Sure there was a certain cost for this, over and above what my insurance would cover. However, Dr. Fishman and her staff took no shortcuts, I had to have consumed much of her and her staff's office time with my many dental visits. She and her staff clearly take great pride in their work. Now it is March, 2012 and I have just left Absolute Smile after my semi-annual checkup and cleaning. I still have my teeth. My dental hygiene continues to improve. I have no cavities. By the way, I have NEVER had any significant pain while being treated. I have also gotten to know some of the staff. Lupa has always cleaned my teeth. She is really proficient at what she does, and a very nice person to boot. Alina is usually at the front desk. She is a real peach. Good sense of humor. A couple of weeks ago was my first time going to a dentist in at least 5 years.. Me being a new mother I had no idea that bringing a baby to the dentist with me wasn't such a good idea; since I had no one else with me to watch my child the lady at the front desk allowed me to get a sitter and come back in a couple hours . That was so nice ! I took my baby to my sister and returned to Absolute Smile. There was major work to be done as expected. They gave me an x-Ray & told me that I had five cavities ! That was extremely frightening because I've never had a cavity in my life. Needless to say I had to get some fillings done. The doctor recommended that I got my teeth cleaned first (my primary reason for going to the dentist.) The cleaning was a little uncomfortable , but I could be just being dramatic since I haven't been to the dentist in years. After I got my teeth cleaned the doctor filled two cavities that were located in the top right side of my mouth. She said she wanted to do them first because one was in a tooth that shows in my smile. I really appreciate that! I had two follow up visits , one for two cavities located on the bottom right of my mouth, and one for one cavity on the bottom left side of my mouth. Now everything is handled and I couldn't be happier, especially since I will be getting a free whitening because of a simple "like" on Facebook, getting my cavities handled & writing this review! A few years ago I had an enormous pain and abscess on one of my teeth. I called several doctors and none of them were able to provide me with immediate care. I was very lucky to find Absolute Smile where I received immediate care. Within the first few minutes, Dr. Boris Friedman was able to diagnose my problem. He took care of my pain and created a treatment plan. Dr. Boris Friedman is one of the most talented dentist I ever met. He is highly knowledgeable, patient, and gentle. He is also a great diagnostician. He recommended that I replace a tooth with root cyst with an implant. He explained to me that it will save me from future pain, more oral abscesses, inflammations, and will save me money. I decided to get a second opinion where I was told that I should do a root canal which would fix the problem. Unfortunately that did not help. I ended up with pain, another abscess, and an expensive bill. I greatly regret not having listened to Dr. Friedman from the beginning. After that incidence, I fully trust Dr. Friedman. He fixed the tooth by doing an implant, as he had previously suggested, and now I am pain free and very happy. I highly recommend that everyone attend the Absolute Smile Dental office. Dr. Boris Friedman is not only a highly qualified, and intelligent dentist, but he is one of the most gifted I have ever had the pleasure to attend. Dr. Friedman never gives up on any problems which he comes across and always finds the best solution for a patient's case. I had multiple problems which other doctors eventually gave up on and just send me over to other specialists, but not with Dr. Friedman; This doctor was finally able to diagnose my problem and successfully treat me without sending me off to other specialists. Dr. Friedman's office is equipped with the latest dental technologies which are very important for diagnostic and prevention therapy purposes. He is constantly improving his knowledge base by attending Dental conferences. His office staff is very friendly and professional and they always help with any insurance and other dental questions. My dental office it's absolutely the best in the area. The staff members are all friendly and well knowledge. All the dental hygienist are well trained and experienced but my absolute favorite had to be Irina. She is absolutely amazing. Out of all the years that I have with different dental hygienist I've never had anyone like her. If you are reading this review and you are already an absolute smile client and never work with Irina then you must ask for her. If you are new to this practice then ask for Irina and you won't be sorry. There's only one down side to this practice it's that there's only one doctor on site all the time. It seems like he is the only doctor available at all time. After a bad experience years ago, I'd lost all faith in having beautiful teeth all my life. I thought if I'd just take care of my teeth I wouldn't have to see a dentist. But once the pain started and I couldn't get rid of it, my daughter suggested that I go to her dentist which turned out to be the best suggestion ever!!! Because of my anxiety I'd called my doctor in advance to get some meds to relax me to get the necessary work that was needed because of my yrs of neglect. Turns out that I didn't need to take it after my first visit. The entire staff are so kind and sweet! And the dentist was a gentle and understand man! The prices actually is really good. I visited only one doctor and he's doing great job! I don't know about others. In general, I can't say nothing bad about this place. I've been there couple of times and never had any kind of problems. The prices is really low - this is very important for me, because I don't have medical insurance. I read Laterell C. review and the only true thing there is that the most of stuff and some of patients are Russians. So, if you are Russian, then this is great advantage for you, cause you can use your native language when you're talking with doctor -- this is probably very important because you don't want run in any misunderstanding at this point. I am usually very nervous when it comes time to see a dentist, well not this time...first off when you walk into the waiting room you are greeted by very welcoming staff...who are very kind and help you...by checking you in quickly and showing you the paper work you need to complete...then once you are taken back you again are greeted by great staff in the rooms...who are very kind and gentle...then comes in the greatest doctor I've ever had...Dr Alla Fishman is very gentle and kind...and talks you through her exam and explains everything to you...she gives a pain free treatment...which is always my biggest fear...pain...I would recommend her and this office to all my friends...even my daughter liked them! read more

I don't know about the other's experience but my experience in this office is great. I have done a lot of work there( cleaning, root canal, fillings) and every time I go there the service is very good, the staff is very friendly and respectful and overall they did a good job with me. I am happy how Dr. Fishman was careful on what she was doing and explained every step she was doing, and also her assistant Ms. Etleva was very nice, professional and helpful. I was referred to Absolute Smile by a good friend. I went to see Dr. Friedman to get a second opinion about major dental work that my dentist at the time was proposing. There was a significant amount of dental work I had to go through. Dr. Friedman came up with a flexible treatment plan that fit my needs. I have been to this office for a long time(it's been 5 years now ) and the service is great, the staff is very professional and friendly. It's been an year since I finished my extensive treatment at this office and I am so glad my teeth still look beautiful and radiant and I didnt have any problems with fillings, root canals, crowns or implants since! I found the office on the internet and went there from Maryland, because I liked the price for the implants. Even it took some time to get 3 implants I'm very happy with the quality.
