Had an AMAZING time with the Segway tour. It was an extremely unique experience being able to tour the chicago highlights with a great tour guide. Highlights were definitely the history of natural history museum, planetarium, and aquarium. Definitely highly recommend for anyone's first time in chicago.

Enthusiastically giving Absolutely Chicago Segway Tours FIVE STARS ... would give them more if I could. Here is why: 1. They are service oriented and very good at it. I called them ahead and told them that we have a special needs daughter. The manager, Aaron did not hesitate. He invited us to come in. He worked with my daughter to teach her how to ride while he was carefully evaluating her for safety as well as her needs. He then arranged for a private tour with our tour guide, Raquel who was at her home. Within a short time, Raquel came in and took us out for a fantastic and informative tour. 2. Their location is the best. They have rented space from a garage at the Millennium Park. This is very good because you get started with the tour right away and you don't waste time to get there. 3. They gave us a great orientation. My wife and I have done Segway tours in different parts of the world. So, we are pretty familiar with the whole process. But we learned new tips in handling Segway after their orientation. 4. Prices are very reasonable especially for a private tour. They charged $90 extra for the private tour (2 hours) plus normal fees and gratuity. That's very good considering the special attention Raquel provided for our special needs daughter. I really appreciate their positive attitude and their flexibility. Raquel is just a happy soul who made the whole experience exceptional as well as informative. THANK YOU.

If you're visiting Chicago or a long time resident, this activity is just pure fun and you're bound to learn something new and interesting about the Windy City. Located in the bottom of Millennium Parking Garage head down East Monroe Street toward the lake and you'll see their signs. Really friendly staff and great Segway instruction before starting off on your 2 hour tour. We got really lucky with a nice temperate day and only the 4 of us on our tour. Our friends visiting from Pittsburgh felt like they got a great introduction to the city. Our guide Pat was very engaging, knowledgeable and watchful of our safety. Also a humorous, charming guy to spend a couple of hours listening to as he told stories of Chicago history on all the parks, fountains, artwork, museums, Soldier Field and the gorgeous buildings of the Chicago Skyline as we rode our Segways. Highly recommended - it's fun!

Our family - 2 adults, 2 kids (14 and 12) - thoroughly enjoyed our Grant Park/Lakeshore/Museum Campus tour with Cari. She was fun, knowledgeable and helpful to first time "gliders". My kids said this was their favorite part of our weekend in Chicago - we'll be back for sure!

We booked this last minute. We have always wanted to go on a Segway tour but this was our first. We got our helmets, watched a video and met our guide Michael who did a great job showing us how to get on and use the Segways. After our entire family was comfortable using and stopping we departed thru millennium Park. We stopped several times over the 90 minutes to learn about different areas and items that we were passing. We drove around and they museum park and soldier field. We drove thru the outdoor exhibit of Agora. We finished our tour at the art Institue before driving back to the Segway drop spot. A great end to 9miles around the city. We learned a lot about the city and how to get around on a Segway. Make sure you get Michael if you go!

I've been to Chicago many times, but never did the architectural boat tour thinking 'oh it's too…read moretouristy.' This time I gave in thinking the weather is nice and I want to do something relaxing. Wendella was highly ranked and a friend recommended them. I was bummed when I saw the 90 minute sunset tour was sold out. I saved $50. lol I was happy to find that they had a 45 minute tour at 8pm. This was actually perfect and for $28! I got to see a little bit of light when we boarded and the actual sun setting and views of the city in the dark. Very beautiful. The host tries to tell us history and be funny, but I think most were busy taking photos or just relaxing as a breeze hit. The ride is smooth so not to worry if you typically get motion sick. I felt fine. You may book tickets online and I'd show up by 7-7:15pm to get on the 8pm boat. The line gets long and if you want premium seating in the back or along the sides, then you want to be early. This 45 minute tour takes off a little bit further in than the 90 min one that has entry just off the bridge by Michigan Ave. Not sure if the boat had a restroom. Overall I'd budget about 2ish hours for this activity from the time waiting in line, cruise, and getting off the boat. Highly recommend!

My wife did this tour a couple years ago and highly recommended it, but I wasn't especially interested because I had also gone to school here and figured I knew enough about Hyde Park already. However, she insisted that it would be worth our while and so I agreed to climb on the bus. And it was the absolutely right decision, because the tour was excellent. In fact, it wasn't just a tour of Hyde Park. It included the surrounding neighborhoods of Washington Park, Kenwood, Jackson Park, and Woodlawn. Since this was a UChicago sponsored event much of the information related to the University's investment and involvement in the area. Our tour guide and founder of Chicago Detours, Amanda, is herself a graduate of UChicago and thus she had some additional insight into the relationship with the community. Though the 75-minute tour felt a little slow-going at times, there was much to learn about the vibrant but sometimes troubled history of the area. Amanda has tremendous knowledge and the excursion was both fascinating and entertaining. I can imagine that Chicago Detours would have equally interesting tours of other neighborhoods in this diverse city.

Best deal. Our tour guide was happy, energetic, and very knowledgeable about Chicago because he was born and raised there. We chose the 75 minute, 4pm Chicago River tour and it covered a lot! We never lost interest and learned about Chicago's history. It is well worth it! Our Architecture River Tour boat departed from the dock at Navy Pier. We learned that their boats are the most accessible at this location. Their boats can accommodate wheelchairs up to 30-inches wide. Your wheelchair must be able to navigate a ramp with a 2-inch step at one end. I needed one that was kind to my knees. Best to call them for more details. They were very helpful whenever we called them. Their boats are both double-decker and single-level boats, and there is generally no protection from the sun, rain, or wind. There is a small bar on the main level. Restrooms are located on the lower deck, which is accessible only via stairs from the upper deck. Enjoy! It's amazing!
