Please beware of this company. They damaged our living room flooring, walls, and a lot of our personal home contents that they were supposed to be storing during restoration. They did not complete the restoration work due to supposedly not having reliable drywallers at the time even though they did not notify us of this until after they had already torn out a lot of our drywall. We ended up having to hire an entirely different company to finish the job that they originally started. It got so bad that we literally had to call the police on them for damaging our home while they were there. Worst experience that I have ever had dealing with a company in my life!!! read more

Great company!! They were very kind and professional. They showed up quickly and did a phenomenal job. I highly recommend them.

They added so many bogus fees and charges to the bill, including specific things they never even did to my basement. They did not provide an estimate beforehand or notify me what they were doing to my basement and the subsequent charges for this uncommunicated work that would then be incurred. Lots of things they charged for are things I could have done myself ($90 to remove the baseboards? $2k for dehumidifiers? I could have bought several for that price). What should have cost $5k resulted in almost $10k. My impression is that they're taking advantage of their clients' situations and attempting to maximize their bottom line. I was looking for local contractors to give me a quote on a new roof for my building. I spoke with the girl who answered the phone. She assured me one of their project managers would call me. 3 days later, still no call. I called them back, same girl checked her log and said yes, you called Monday, sorry they haven't got back to you yet, I'll let them know again. 24hour later, still no call. I wanted to use a local company, their office is 7 blocks from my building. So I get a response to my 14 month old review today, not even from the owner (who doesn't even have the B@lls to post his name on the site, only Vic G. ) Sure, I'd trust them with my building...Not! read more

I first encountered Above Board through my insurance company for repairing a claim on my home, adding a few other items to my cost and was very satisfied. I have since called on them 2 times more, adding new or larger windows as well as installation of a skylight and some drywall work which should show my satisfaction. I agree completely with reviewer Dan regarding their crews; and the company puts together the full complement of skills to do a job properly. On smaller projects it may take a bit of time to get the right craftsman to the site to complete a particular step, but I'd rather wait for the professional that does the job properly than have less than correct work. Agreed, they are not inexpensive, but quality is not expected to be. You get what you pay for. read more

Randy, the contractor I dealt with, was a completely professional, intelligent, thoughtful, and creative contractor. On-time arrival and ahead of time completion, creative, honest, and very good-natured. Together with his assistant, Gunther, they worked straight through without fooling around or stopping and left me with an excellent product. Not the cheapest, but very far from the most costly. He is now my go-to carpenter. read more

Great experience! Last week my wife walked into our house after work to find a leaking salt water fish tank. There was water damage to 2 bedrooms a hallway and the den ceiling ,chair and carpet below. Absolutely Dry arrived a short time later after a call to our insurance company (Liberty Mutual). They came in with their equipment and starting getting the rooms and ceiling dried. The next day one of their trained specialist (DJ) came to the house, very professional. He was very knowledgeable and was checking to see how far the water damage spread through the house using some type of meter. Dj removed the wet sections of the floors and set up the dryers before he left for the night. He left the house and the worksite spotless! Today DJ arrived to start removing a good portion of the damaged den ceiling. It was more of the same, he protected the floor and all the furniture and when he was done, the den was spotless! Absolutely Dry did an amazing job! I recently experienced a fire at my home. I came home from work on a Friday night to find the fire department in my driveway and smoke pouring out of my home. The fire totaled my garage as well as most of my kitchen. The smoke basically damaged the rest of my home and to make matters worse now my basement was pretty much flooded from the water used to extinguish the flames. I called my insurance and they recommended Absolutely Dry. They arrived about an hour and a half after I called them, they boarded up and secured my home, they also provided temporary heat as well as temporary power all in the same night since the fire department had to cut the power and gas to my home. They set up air purifying equipment as well as dehumidifiers all that night as well to start drying my home. They gathered a few days of clothes for me and had them cleaned and ready by the next day. They also worked hand and hand with my insurance company which was amazing considering I've never made an insurance claim before. I would highly recommend Absolutely Dry to anyone who experiences a flood or fire damage. These guys are trying to sue me for work they never started at all. On May 8th I signed a work agreement with Absolutely Dry. I had raccoon damage in my attic. They told me that I'd "be on the schedule" by June some time. They rejected the $3200+$1000 deductible that State Farm offered me. On August 13th I was told on the phone that they would do no work for that price and to look elsewhere. My insurance reconsidered and called them in September. Then they called to do the work but I had already looked elsewhere and found a more reliable organization to do it. Then they said on the phone on September 22nd they were going to sue me and I got from their lawyers a letter to day. They claim that due to their phone calls to State Farm I now owe them $2,112+legal fees. This is a despicable situation and no way to do business. I will prove that there is no consideration for this contract but this company blew me off until they got the type of money they were seeking. They showed no honor by offering to assist me in my time in need. Future customers need to beware of how these people do business so they can avoid any threat of harm themselves. I will now have to seek representation even though they didn't help me at all and didn't do one bit of work on the job. This is reprehensible. read more
