BEWARE! A representative of Absolutely Spotless came to my house to do a mold inspection because I had some concerns about the air quality in the house since it been vacant for 6 months before we moved in. He suggested I do a number of tests and told me I would probably need a few thousand dollars of air duct work to address my concerns. He charged me about $3k and told me that it would cover the cost of the tests and most, if not all, of the cost of the air duct cleaning that I wanted done. Then I got an insane email from the owner, Philip Kossoy, basically suggesting that my house was infested and suggesting that I turn my entire house into a toxic, unliveable chemical factory for 1-2 weeks for the low, low price of $15,000! When I told him I just wanted to use the 3k that I paid to have my air ducts cleaned, he refused and said "thats not how this works!" And when I asked for a refund, he laughed at me and said that "it will never happen!" Eventually I had to go to another remediation company that happily did the work for $1,800. Check them out. Not work your time or money! After the initial estimate, Robert the owner called incessantly to see if we wanted to proceed with work. When we decided to move forward, we were told all in the work would be done within 1 week 1) The team that showed up to the do work was from Above and Beyond Cleaning whom we have NEVER heard of or spoke to. When we called Robert he was rude and unprofessional and told us this was the "sister"company, but we should have been made aware of that. 2) It is now 7 weeks since the work started and is still NOT completed. We call the office once a day and get the run around from several office managers. Since its not their house no one has a sense of urgency or even cares. When they do get back to you it more excuses about about when the work will be completed. Bottom line do your research. This is not the company you want to work with if you want anything done in a professional and timely manner. On a side note, the subcontractor working from Above and Beyond, Osain has been amazing! He's been the only one that has called us back to give us updates and to try and get some resolution on the remaining portion of the work. Do NOT let Absolutely Spotless into your house - they are CROOKS, plain and simple. Their business model is as follows: charge outrageous fees for tests you don't need, all while telling customers that money can go to services rendered. But wait, there's just one catch: the estimate for services will be so high that you will never hire them to do the work - and they pocket a fee that most legitimate companies would charge for actual remediation services. My wife and I made the mistake of having them conduct a visual inspection ($250) and two tests ($350 each). The estimate for full remediation came to $8,800. Their model worked perfectly: we obviously didn't contract with them for the work (another licensed, insured company did the job for $1,200) and they pocketed $950 for 20 minutes of gabbing by Lennin. I seriously doubt they have crews or do their own work; they probably subcontract out the actual remediations in a panicked scramble if someone actually goes ahead and hires them to do the job. I tried, like several others who've dealt with these swindlers, to dispute the charge but had no luck ("services" were already rendered, I was told by a VISA call center rep., so the charge stands). I got a highly rude and cocky person when I called. I explained in the beginning that the mold test has been done. He said they charge $895 to come and do the diagnosis. I did not need diagnosis since I already know and have the lab report so I asked him if they can come out and do the estimate. To that, the guy said its the same charge to come out. To this, I said I need to think about it and the guy literally started yelling at me at that point that I want everything for free. After this, I did not stay on call and hung up while he was still yelling out of his lungs. I understand everyone has policies and he has the policy to charge $895 for an estimate but there is never a good enough reason to yell at a potential customer on the first call. These prices are really high compared to the other companies around and if I had done my research better should have had a mold testing and inspection company only come out to evaluate our basement The owner, Philip Kossoy, is extremely rude and not customer friendly and pushed for us to have $6300 of remediation work done. Our mold count was very low and tested positive for one mold. We had a second company Servepro come in to do an inspection and showed them our report to see what the cost of the remediation would be based on the report from the testing. He was extremely professional and great to work with. We had a great feeling of trust as he was not push Based on his inspection and in reviewing the lab reports form Absolutely Spotless he felt that the counts did not warrant and remediation but did suggest we put a dehumidifier in. When we questioned Phil on his findings he became very defensive and rude and told us that ServePro inspector was an idiot and didn't know anything and wanted our business when in fact they told us that we did not need anything done because the test results did not warrant any remediation. Horrible! I paid $1300 for mold inspection only!! The inspector came in and scared us into doing more testing. My advice read all the reviews on yelp because i really wish i had done my research. Had another company come in and guess what the mold isn't even that bad! I almost destroyed my finished basement because of their email! To top it off it was around Christmas and we were living here scared because the owner would not answer my calls to tell me if it was safe to live here since the results did not come in 72hours like they said it would, instead it took 4 days!! DO NOT USE. The initial mold testing required 2 tests at a cost of $900. Post remediation, no test was performed to confirm the remediation was effective. Was told the remediation would take 2, maybe three days. They started on Monday and did not finish until Saturday. I had a new HVAC installation scheduled for Thursday and Friday and house cleaning scheduled for Friday based upon the promise to be complete no later than Wednesday. I had to pay additional fees to the HVAC installer and house cleaners because the mold remediation was not completed on time. They never worked complete days, sometimes as little as 2 hours. Friday night they arrived after 8PM and the only reason they finished was because we watched every step. Had to remind them to take their trash they generated with them. After the work was completed, the owner Phillip, never returned any calls to discuss concerns. He just charges your credit card. Will file a complaint with the BBB. read more

Watch out for Absolutely Spotless. Don't fall for it. Not only do these guys charge up to four times the industry standard for mold testing, but they ALSO do the remediation, which is a clear and wholly unethical conflict of interest. To explain, we pulled up old carpet to discover an area of moisture and what looked like mold. Worried that this could be a really dangerous type of mold (black mold?), the first thing we did was google a mold testing service. The Absolutely Spotless tester arrived promptly that same day, and, after reminding us how dangerous mold can be, and how the cost of testing is well worth it, we agreed to do swab, air, and control testing (for the insane price of $1650!!). Of course, a few days later, the tests came back positive. (I wish we had our money back, because I could have told you we had mold.) But what we didn't expect was that the owner "Robert" called and offered us remediation for a whopping $7500! That's seven thousand five hundred dollars! Along with that quote came a flood of materials on how bad mold is for your health, and the reiteration that we NEED to do this work with them if we want our family to be healthy and cancer-free. Yes, he mentioned cancer as a possible health risk! Needless to say, we were shocked at the price tag and the problem we'd uncovered. Out of desperation, we contacted three other companies who each independently agreed on a few things: 1) That Absolutely Spotless should NEVER have tested the air an hour after we'd pulled up old carpet. The air needs to settle for at least 24 hours before a reading would be valid. 2) Absolutely Spotless charged us about FOUR TIMES the industry standard for the testing. 3) That Absolutely Spotless runs an unethical business model by doing BOTH testing and remediation. 4) That while each of the other companies we were getting second opinions from were reputable companies, Absolutely Spotless was to be avoided at all costs. 5) And that we didn't have the mold problem Absolutely Spotless made it out to be. That we had a great french drain that was functioning properly, but that it simply needed wrapping around a corner to solve a slight moisture issue and therefore the entire mold issue. 6) And that not only should we not follow through with the scale of work Absolutely Spotless had proposed, but we should call our credit card company to attempt to stop payment on our testing costs immediately because we'd been scammed. These conclusions were reached by multiple companies independently. Watch out for Absolutely Spotless. Look for My Mold Removal Guys, Arid Basement Waterproofing, or A Molly Company. I called and spoke to Nadine who informed me that the driver didn't show up today. I didn't get a call to apologize or warn me about the no show. All she said was he didn't show up. I recently had this company do my dryer vent and air ducts. They were very punctual (actually 10 minutes early) and friendly. The two guys got right down to work and had everything done in a little over an hour. They worked quickly and efficiently. My only complaint is that they left things a bit messier than they found it. This is why I rated them 4 stars rather than 5. It would have been nice if they had swept or vacuumed up the debris that had come out of the vents. They offer many services other than vent cleaning so I will be sure to keep them in mind for future cleaning jobs. The price was competitive and reasonable. Around $400 for both services. read more

Absolutely spotless quoted me one price over the phone and then when they came out to inspect my house they wanted to charge me $3500 for mold testing. What a scam! We were selling a home and the mold inspector found a little mold in the basement that we had to remediate before we could close on the house. We called these guys up, and they quoted a price of $250 for a service call. Turns out that it's actually $250 + $350 for the "mold test." Ok fine, we could swallow that, but what we could not swallow was the $4,000 he wanted to charge us to clean it up! He was trying to convince us that there was mold everywhere (the mold inspector said it was minor) and that we should look at the whole house. When we told him we were going to get another quote from a certified mold specialist, he got very angry and told us we were playing Russian roulette with our health and that the other guys would just rip us off. When the other company came, they said that all the mold Absolutely Spotless was pointing out as dangerous was mold from the lumber yard that has probably been there since the rafters were installed and is completely harmless because it's dead (basically it's just stains). Anyway, the other company charged us less than half of what Absolutely Spotless quoted and we passed the mold inspection. Same as above, I called to have someone come to my property to give me an estimate on some pretty bad mold damage. The first person I spoke with was a woman who tried to sell me on mold testing, which she said would cost me $300. I explained that I wasn't interested in paying for testing upfront because I didn't want to invest that kind of money if I didn't know that I wanted them to do the larger job. So, she transferred me to a man who was condescending and rude. Not only did he basically accuse me of wanting them to break some kind of law/code if I didn't do the testing first, but he told me that they would charge me $150 just to come out and LOOK at the damage. No go. I thanked him for his time and told him I'd keep looking. Why would I want to be on the hook for nearly $500, if I'm still exploring who I want to do the work? That doesn't make sense and I was shocked by how bold they were in quoting those prices in our FIRST CONVERSATION and how offended the man seemed when I told him I didn't want to go that route. I've called around to a number of mold remediation companies. There are plenty who do not charge to come out to your property...and plenty who don't even recommend doing the testing as a first step, especially if the mold is visible. AS came in to clean my chimney and left three large soot spots on my creme and grey marbled (not to mention very pricy) wool rug. The man who cleaned it talked the entire time and never laid down a tarp to cover the area. So disappointing. I had to have a carpet restoration come in to fix my rug because the soot was relatively oily. Please do your self a favor and do not use this company. I called several times to resolve this issue and was told the owner was on vacation or not in the office and the secretary would pass the message along. Unbeknownst to me, I had a mold issue, which I have never dealt with. Panicked, I called several companies and the only one who could come out right away was Absolutely Spotless. It is true what others have said, they tell you the inspection is $250 and testing is $350. Once they get there, the bill skyrockets. I wish I had the time to research. They literally charged me double for testing. DOUBLE. After I got the testing complete, I contacted other companies for remediation, and every one said I was ripped off. All quoted $750-$1200 for testing, not what I paid, $2350! They also advised that at least 2 tests I had done were redundant, as the other testing gave me the same results. I then had to call the company for my results, even though they had them 2 days after testing was complete. No one called to send them or advise what was happening. Further, the protocol they gave me was overdone in many areas and incomplete in others, missing key things such as carpeting that must be cleaned and/or removed. When I emailed the president, as expected, I received no response. This company takes advantage of people in a bad situation. Price gauging to the extreme. This company is only interested in profit. I will be filing a complain with BBB to start. It is shocking that this is allowed, for a business to take advantage of people and charge outrageous prices, and while doing this, scare the homeowner to death. We recently had a mold test done and as some of the other reviews stated we were told one price over the phone and another price once the inspector was at our home. After the inspection Robert the owner called regularly and multiple times a day even though we told them we needed to go through our insurance company. This guy was a rude obnoxious jerk when we called to explain the situation. Once we had our insurance inspector come to the house it was determined there was little to no mold, even though this company said there were high levels of multiple kids of mold that made us scared.
