Spring Lake: Easily spent over $600k in services and couldn't get a call back on the gutters they installed incorrectly and the landscape lighting that stopped working. Been told for over 9 months they were waiting on parts- but about a dozen calls and emails later, I have given up waiting. Hiring other folks that need the work and don't charge as much. We were given an estimate for a small job. The person they sent to do the work was not sure what he was supposed to do and had to call the office. He was not friendly at all. He spent ten minutes making a hole in the walk and went to home depot to buy a part. The part cost $15, he literally made a whole in the wall, that took 10 minutes. They had given us an estimate, that we did approve for $800. We expected a professional job, which we did not get. When we called the office for an explanation of why we were charged $800. Parts were $15 and he took 5 minutes to make a hole in the wall. Do they charge $800 labor? for 5 minutes work. We asked for Anthony to call us and explain; he did not have the courtesy to call us back. We kept getting excuses from there receptionist that he was busy!! I would never use them again and certainly not recommend them!!!!!!! read more

I have used a lot of different contractors and handymen over the years and these guys are the first truly professional operation I have come across. They did three projects for me in the past year and everyone of them has been great. All have been completed in the time they said it would (which is unheard of), and all have been very high quality. What was surprising is how they will take small jobs. Most companies will not even bother with the small jobs as its not worth their time but they make it work. I think their prices are fair. I can't speak for their quality of work because I never got that far after their ridiculously outrageous estimate they game me to install a kitchen backsplash. I was looking to have a backsplash installed in my kitchen, which was approximately 45 sq ft of basic white 3x6 subway tile. I had already purchased all of the tile and grout needed for the job and the estimate was strictly for labor. Mind you I was not asking for any crazy design or herringbone pattern just a basic subway backsplash. AAHS quoted me just shy of $1,800.00 JUST for the LABOR!!! I ended up having a guy do it for $400. I would stay away from this company or at least get another estimate because they basically tried to rob me. I understand it's not a huge job for them but they should just say it's not worth their time instead of trying to rob people who might not know any better!! read more

I never leave a review but this time I feel I need to. Two years ago I used AACS to replace my front porch, install a sump pump in my basement, replace the wooden doors on my outside fence, and replace the cracked stone steps going out to my backyard. The deck and sump pump was done to my satisfaction. The stone for my outside steps cracked after 1 year and the wooden fence door has not closed properly since it was put in. The owner Anthony came by and told me he would do the repairs on the steps and wooden door. In the interim I needed to do some work in my kitchen and to fix some flashing that came off on my roof. I received the quote which was ok price wise. Here is when it got ugly. I called Anthony no less than 5 times to discuss the work and when It could begin. I also sent him emails and texts for him to respond. I called his main telephone number and spoke with the woman two times who told me she would have him call me back. That's a total of no less than 8 times over a span of 2 weeks where I reached out to him with NO RESPONSE. I eventually found another handyman who did the kitchen and flashing within 1 week. I know since the pandemic hit getting workers is tough BUT just show some respect and contact me to tell me he can't do the job as promised because of issues. I had a good experience initially but because of Anthony's total disregard for a existing customer I will never use him again. I owned a $30 million business until 2015. I always impressed on my sales force that our best customers are the ones we already do business with. I did thousands of dollars of work with Anthony, paid him 100% of the agreed price when requested and then he never fixed the minor repairs he left and comes to my home this year to look at the new work I have for him, sends me a quote, and then falls off the face of the earth. I recommend NEW JERSEY HANDYMAN who took care of my 2 projects this summer and performed them as promised and a reasonable cost. read more

Disappointing. I contacted them for a leaking window. The assessment recommended removing the exterior above the window, re-sealing/taping underneath, putting on a new drip cap, new window trim and repairing and painting the exterior. The contract for this was estimated at $511. I paid a down payment of $225. When the technician came they only caulked the window and did no other work and I received no word about it but still was told I owed a balance of $286. When I called to ask about this considering none of the work was done they adjusted the balance but still asked me to pay an additional $35. $260 just to caulk my window and was told "well if it leaks again give us a call back." I asked to speak to the supervisor and was refused. I'd rather have the problem fixed properly the first time and am willing to pay for quality work. This amount just to caulk the window and cross my fingers seems unreasonable. read more

We engaged All Around Roofing to install a new roof. Everyone we dealt with (the project manager - Luke, the office staff - Kaitlyn & Barbara, the roofing crew led by Danny) were highly professional and courteous at all times. They quickly responded to our phone calls and answered all of our questions to our satisfaction. They were able to quickly set a date for the project and were able to complete all of the work on that day.    Whenever I had a question, Danny patiently explained the work. I had a series of things that needed to be done and had them come out to give me an estimate. These are the types of things a relatively handy homeowner (like me) could do themselves if they had the time. These were things like installing a floor threshold, tightening up the fixtures on a bathroom sink, taking out a wall oven and installing the new one (3 wires), tearing up a rug in a bedroom, installing a new vanity (no plumbing), and cut and cap a dormant ice water supply line. They provided an estimate of $26,661.58. Having been a contractor myself (i installed home elevators) I knew the amount of time involved with these tasks (I already had all materials on hand) and my estimate for an contractor was in the $2,200 - 2,500 range. The only conclusion I could come to was either they didn't understand what was involved, or they figured they could take advantage of a homeowner who was not familiar with what was required to do the job. My advice to anyone, and especially someone who is not handy, is to get a second estimate before ever contracting with these people. Otherwise you will be ripped off and disappointed once you find out what you should have paid. read more

I have had this company do various jobs for me over the last 4 years, since moving to the area. They are professional and their workers are both knowledgeable and arrive when they say they will be there!! I had one issue where a repair in my siding they did in 2016 came loose in early 2018. Anthony was there the next day to evaluate it and was happy to repair it for me. The handyman, George, is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He is truly an all around handyman and has completed jobs from hanging my pictures to replacing my faucets and hanging new interior doors. They get the job done and they do it in a timely manner. AAHS was prompt in showing up to my house for their scheduled appointment and took the time to consult with me. However, I immediately passed when they quoted me an outrageous fee of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS (for labor only) to lay a 12x12 sheet of vinyl flooring/linoleum over my existing floor. There was no rip-up or gluing involved; just go on top of old floor. A professional flooring company was able to do the job (with material) for under $600.00. Based on that alone, I can't recommend them. read more

Anthony and his team do great work. They really can do must everything. Anthony vibes and discusses your project with you, makes suggestions and once you fully define what you want he sends a firm estimate. They've never asked for more than the estimate. They do high quality work for both small and large jobs. Thus far they have built out a craft room and closet, drilled out and installed a new sump pump in my basement and re-graded the floor around my old sump pump. I now have a dry basement. They rebuilt the outside stairs which are now steady and evenly spaced and his design suggestion made them look better. They also removed the grass outside the fence and by the sidewalk and replaced with rocks. You're going to ask about price. They are not cheap but not overpriced either.
