It is however a strong, loving congregation. Members are quick to notice visitors and introduce themselves to try and make them feel more at home, and simply get to know them more. Pastor Joe has been there for, I think, 13 years or so now. This church places a big emphasis on Discipleship, which I think is great because I could always grow in my knowledge and application of how to better spread God's Word. I've been attending Lakes my whole life as my parents have been going there since they were kids, and my fathers parents were charter members. Lakes youth ministry meets on Sunday's at 6, and will often times incorporate outreach ministries like going to Faces of Change in Camden, NJ, to help hand out food, drink, and clothes to homeless or less fortunate. Along with our few discipleship groups, a young couple started Shine Ministries which is an outreach program to give back as they often times will hand out food in Camden, spend time with children at the Ronald McDonald House, technologically educate men and women in retirement homes, and many others great ways to give back and show Christ's love. I've had nothing but great experiences at Lakes. If you're looking for a church where you can go and slip through the cracks, this may not be for you. This church is beautiful and humongous ... a bit too over the top for me though, with the large screens (you can follow bible verses, readings, and song lyrics), concert type performances and loudness on the microphones. As much as I love music, I prefer a talking service, with minimal singing. I'll go again to support my son but I'll stick with my little, much quieter parish. Lovely people but not for me.

It's a place that truly loves God and stands firmly on His Word. The pastor teaches the Gospel clearly and doesn't shy away from speaking truth... even when it challenges you to look at your own heart. Those messages are exactly what's needed today, and they always point back to growing closer to Jesus. Another thing we love is the kids and youth ministries. My kiddos absolutely love going! It's a fun, welcoming environment, but more importantly, the teachers genuinely care about guiding kids and teens toward a real relationship with Jesus. Nice set-up all around. Everyone was chill, no riff-raff here. They have: - Spring-fed cedar lake. It is very clean, they test the water weekly. - Sandy beach (well groomed) - Lifeguards on duty - Beach volleyball court, horseshoe pits and basketball. - They have free canoes and kayaks (life vests included) - Picnic areas - Hiking trail (around a mile or so) - Gas grills - Adirondack style chairs and beach umbrellas - Many shady spots provided by the trees - Bathroom facility - Birthday parties are okay as long as the group doesn't exceed 20, 25 max. "Minors under the age of 16 may not be dropped off and must be accompanied by a responsible adult. CampFAC is not a daycare facility and will not be held responsible for the well-being of its guests. The use of ALCOHOL and TOBACCO is strictly prohibited. Foul language and lewd or reckless behavior will not be tolerated". They don't have a snack bar so feel free to pack a cooler and bring some grub. If you want, bring beach chairs, umbrellas and sand toys with you.
