This newer feeling AC hotel is very nice, has a near perfect location, and everyone I dealt with was nice and welcoming. The rooms are very nice and better than most if you need to take a business call. I pick my hotel by low price / quality and this was the winner on this day. Did not disappoint for biz travel. Parking: being the budget minded traveler I parked down the street in a nice garage for $11 overnight. They have valet for ~$35. On this day it was snowing hard, and that would have been nice. read more

The hotel was way nicer than I expected. It's a great location that's a short walk to the capitol building. I had a great view. The room was clean, well-appointed, and modern. I liked the way the shower is designed. The handle is on the opposite wall of the shower head. You can warm the water without accidentally getting splashed. The rain shower was also really nice. Plus, the shower door is well-designed for once. The water is kept inside and not splashing all over the bathroom floor. Staff were friendly. Breakfast can be found on the 10th floor with a great view. I'll define stay here again. read more

I stayed at the AC Hotel for one night in June 2024 and had a pretty good experience. Upon arriving, there was one person working the desk and I was able to get into a room several hours before the official check-in time (never hurts to ask). My room, on the 3rd floor, was nice and cozy though indeed on the smaller side. The window directly faded another building that seemed to be only a couple hundred feet away, if that. I was able to get natural light but likely goes without saying that I don't love that kind of exposure. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean but I honestly can't imagine sharing the space with another person. Seems like it would be terribly tight. There was just enough room for me and my luggage. When I had to pull out the ironing board though, there was zero space remaining. Yikes. Anyway, the desk was spacious enough to get some work done and the bathroom was pretty pristine. I appreciated the water pressure and temperature in the shower - very nice. The only other thing is that, though the temperature outside was very well into the 90s, my room was pretty frigid. Even with the air conditioning off, I couldn't handle it so I requested a space heater and was graciously provided one. I did venture to the 10th floor for the $15 breakfast fast and I'm not sure it was worth that. Primary options were oatmeal, eggs, and toast. The view of the Capitol building from hotel is gorgeous though, especially from 10th floor. Pretty solid experience overall and would likely stay again though potentially in a larger room. read more

My favorite hotel in Madison by far! I live the location, within walking distance to the Saturday Farmer's market, concerts on the square and more. Also just a short walk to some of the best restaurants in Madison, Lucille is my favorite but that's another review. It's also not too far from Badger game venues, although you may have to Uber depending on the weather. My advice is once park just leave your vehicle instead of driving, much easier. The rooms are large and clean, bathrooms well appointed and there is no carpet! The lobby bar is nice with lots of seating around and at the bar. Check in is easy and I've always been greater by friendly helpful people. My advice is to use the valet parking, there is a cost to it but it's worth not having to find a parking spot. When you want your car you just text via and they get it quickly and. Two reasons for not giving 5 stars, you can't adjust the room temp beyond their preset, I need the room cold when I sleep and the air won't go below 67. The other reason is the TV, after a period of time you get a message it will shut down unless you click "okay", you can click okay until your finger falls off and the TV is still shutting down, just annoying and it happens every visit. Otherwise, this will continue to be where I stay when I visit Madison and would recommend. read more

My room also faced directly at the capital building, which was very nice and quiet. I also tried the breakfast and for $15 it is a small buffet style continental breakfast with an hot eggs options. Non- responsive to a maintenance issue. Room was 85 degrees upon arrival due to drapes being open, on west side, hot sun. Drapes were in disrepair, broken, unable to close. Unfortunately, it is a low class hotel. the customer service is subpar and they don't do much and there's no bellman. There is a manager that hides behind closed doors and instructs the staff, college kids, to refuse no-brainer requests like sending up or even giving bottles of water at the front desk. We are paying $232 per night each for 2 rooms and no housekeeping service! Apparently we have to stay three days for that luxury which was never mentioned. We were told "sorry we didn't tell you." Are we in a Best Western? What a let down for the Marriott brand! We spoke to reception twice, the shift manager as well as the actual housekeeping person. All promised our room would be done. Nope. Stay here if you don't want your towels changed, your garbage emptied or your bed made for 3 days. There must be a better option! It feels like the manager is powerless. We went down and spoke to her in person. She was nice but unwilling or unable to offer us anything for this. We get better service at cheaper hotels. This is just about the rooftop bar and the view not about the hotel or the food. Wow! Best view in Madison. The Capitol is right there in your face. Come at sunset and stay for the moon rise both were stunning. Already have been back to show visitors. I know this place has been around just a couple of years but we never made it up here until now. One year later, and the hotel is worse than before. When I arrived I was checked into a room 9' the second floor. There was construction equipment outside my "High Floor Skyline View" room - I paid an up-charge for the specific room, but was told there were no more available because they were overbooked. Coincidentally, the room type in their system also changed to reflect a different type of room. However, my email confirmation indicates the room I paid for. The manager was quite oblivious on how to respond to a bad situation, and should seriously not be running a hotel. On Monday, I had the delightful experience of being woken up by construction working laughing and chatting directly outside my window as they got ready to start their shift, this was at 6AM. Unbelievable. I've filed a formal complaint with Marriott customer service, as this stay was so unbelievably terrible. I chose this hotel because the finishes are a little nicer and newer, so not be fooled. This hotel is the worst if you'd like a sound nights sleep. read more

3.5 stars I had a nice stay at this hotel when we were in town for a wedding, but I'm a bit conflicted as the bride/groom had some issues with their room and other family never received their welcome gift bags. As for our direct contact, our check-in guy, Calvin, told us about the hotel shuttle. We were lucky enough to find out for our parents who were coming later and we got to use it later on in our stay. Logan was the one who helped us book our shuttle to the airport and it worked out very well. Casey also helped us with a late check-out which was amazing as we were there during Memorial Day weekend and were helping the happy couple with anything we could - also was nice to sleep in a bit after a long and fun holiday weekend. The beds were comfortable and the room had a nice view of the Capitol. We did have some issues with the shower leaking, but the housekeeping staff was great with providing extra towels. The lobby was nice and they had a bar and lounge section that also had complimentary coffee and cookies. In the evening, there were little baggie to make some lavender sacks to help with sleep. That was a cool touch. They are also known for their rooftop bar and Bistro, Eno Vino. They have drinks, tapas type dishes and great views. Our Lyft driver also recommended to us so it was nice that it was so convenient to get to. Not the cheapest place to eat, but the food was good. The hotel was also a 2 minute walk to the Capitol so we got to check that out (no charge) and on Saturday, we were lucky enough to experience the farmer's market in Capitol Square. Overall my husband and I had a nice time, but a little disappointed for our bride/groom friends who had an issue with the additional room they booked and the gift bags not being properly distributed. read more

My 83-year-old mother and I checked into the hotel on one of the coldest nights of the year, January 13, 2025. It was below 0. It was 8pm or after when we checked into room 305. The thermostat in the room read 71 degrees but it felt more like 68. We turned the thermostat to 75 assuming it would heat. The thermostat never increased. My mother was so cold I needed to cover her with our winter jackets. I also had to turn the hair dryer on to heat the bathroom in the morning to shower. We let staff know and the manager Renatta left a VM apologizing. I called back but she never returned my call. We had a most disappointing experience. My mother was absolutely miserable. I also was disappointed by the lack of customer service as I've been a Marriott Bonvoy member for over 15 years. The room looked lovely and the beds were comfortable but if the guests are cold that is what will be remembered. Do better. read more

Yay! I'm a fan... I stayed here on a girls weekend 4/27- 4/29. I had read the reviews about the noise so I mentioned that to the checkin guy and asked for a quite floor- he gave us the 6th floor- it was perfect! We had two comfortable queen beds and a view of the Capital. The shower has a waterfall shower head which was nice. I'm not sure why people say the rooms are small- I didn't think that at all. I like that they have a hydration station on each floor and the gym has a nice view of the Capital. Every employee we encountered was friendly. Valet is $20/night I docked a star b/c when you enter the hotel, there is a overwhelming smell of some sort of cologne spray (think Abercrombie or Hollister) that slaps you in the face... read more

I was thoroughly unimpressed with my stay here. Firstly, when I arrived, I had to search for the valet. There wasn't even anyone at the front desk to ask. Other guests were also waiting for the same reason. Once we found someone to help us, I went to checkin, which was a smooth experience except the keys they handed me were greasy and disgusting. I am well aware that key cards are reused but even a quick wipe down with a damp cloth could have masked the fact that they're not disinfected. Another warning sign was that their hand sanitizer station in the lobby was continuously empty during my entire stay. I appreciate that this is a difficult time for everyone, but as a business that handles travelers, I expected more. Although the room appeared clean, it's hard to really say. The other mishaps definitely tainted the experience. One last note: the valet was a continuous issue throughout my stay. The valet station was only manned once. read more

The place seems to attract a suit and tie business crowd, at least on weekdays. The fitness room has several machines and it has a great view of the Capitol. This is a welcome addition to the hotels of Madison. This hotel is GORGEOUS. From the moment you walk in the look is sleek and the staff is friendly. As for the rooms, they are modern with hard wood floors and a bathroom that will make you jealous. The floor to ceiling windows in my room that faced that capital building were amazing, made me feel like loyalty. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the TV was huge. I logged into Netflix and could access my account to watch movies. The absolute most genius thing that they did is put water and ice dispensers on each floor so you can fill up your water bottles. They also have a very nice gym and bar on the first floor. The bartender was friendly and even made some damn good drink suggestions. The only complaint I had was about parking. They are supposed to have self parking, but they were sold out so I had to park down the street in a garage. I think the valet parking is about $25/night vs self parking one block down is $8/night. Overall, an amazing hotel that is by far the best in madison. I didn't even have a chance to check out the restaurant on the roof, but I have heard great things. I will definitely be back. read more

AC Hotel was pretty darn neat. Walked in late afternoon, greeted at the front desk. Quick and polite. Got to the elevator, took a second to figure out the card. Really nice to have the added security measures. Get to the room, I had a two bed. Nice lighting throughout the room. Nice view of the capitol building and downtown Madison. Comfy beds. Nice little fridge w/ water and glass cups. Plenty of storage space. Bathroom was nice, shower was awesome. Bar was swanky, great views, very business casual feeling. Nice people up there. Good drinks. There is a little lounge/fireplace area. And an outdoor seating area that is pretty sweet looking, though it was late at night when I discovered it and wasn't able to go out there. Work out room was solid, plenty of weights and cardio equipment. No pool :( If there was a pool or 18+ hot tub (lets face it... kids always ruin the hot tub) I'd totally give 5 stars. Outside area has a heated lamp area. The downstairs bar has a really awesome lightshow on the wall. This was the best hotel I've stayed at in Madison, even without the Pool. Completely underwhelming experience for the third time in a row. They don't offer the usual Marriott hospitality and don't care if you are a titanium elite bonvoy member. Front desk staff seems to think they are on the reality show vanderpump rules and the cameras are rolling in their minds but don't exist in real life. So bizzare. I was really bummed about our experience here. I agree with the other poor reviews of this place. The prime location can't offset, the fact, that, we couldn't sit in our room for one second, without hearing people's conversations, music, constant thudding noises from the surrounding rooms, poor design ideas in the bathroom, poor attention to detail, and sanitation. Also, the door was so heavy, that it required super strength to open. There was literally no reason for this, as it didn't improve anything....all it did, was make it ridiculously hard to enter and exit our room. There was no soap bar or body wash in the bathroom, to use in the shower. There was one little bar, which we used to wash our hands instead. We decided to forego showering and just leave early, to go home and shower. The walls were literally paper thin. I'm not sure if it's a new construction build, that was just poorly built, or, if it's a renovation, on the previous building. I have no idea....either way, there were way too many corners cut. We had a beautiful view of the Capitol building, but, that was, quickly ruined by all the cons that there were. Drinks go from kinda reasonable to really expensive. And weirdly with sales tax. I would come again but will watch the drink order more carefully. Word of warning! Every hotel has that one room that should not ever be filled. I was in that room last night! Room 225 is that room in the AC Hotel. The problem? The mood music gets pumped into the room all, and I do mean all, night long. At 2:30 in the morning, when you'd think they could turn the music down, it comes in loud and clear. I am not a light sleeper and it kept me awake. So rating-wise, nice new hotel. But they should pay you to sleep in room 225. Not the other way around! Enjoy Madison just the same. read more

So far so good. Marginally remarkable design and no parking garage. But there are options nearby at fair price of 8$. Rooms are smallish but nice. Modern. Biggest gripe is when it's 50 degrees out in March, it's 80+ degrees in the room. And yes, I too hear people dragging chairs and tables across the floor above from 9th floor. Not too too bad, but you can hear it. It's just super hot in the room... and the ceiling noise is present. I'd be happier with an 8th floor room. And yes, I did wake up to treadmill whir accompanied by boom boom boom as people ran, instead of running outside on a beautiful Sunday morning. Basically I'd give the place 5 stars if I wasn't in the 920s room numbers - right next to the workout room and under the upstairs bar. We actually enjoyed the smell of the lobby. read more

Wow - this place is really not ready for prime time. The restaurant cannot process room charges and the dining room staff seems to have problems taking and finding reservations. Also, the restaurant doesn't open for breakfast until 6:30, which is too late for a hotel that expects business customers. When I went to check out at 6am, there was no one at the front desk and after five minutes I went around the desk to knock on the office door. It's a beautiful property and the rooms are nice but it is definitely going through some early growing pains from a staff and expectations perspective. read more

Worst hotel experience of my life. While checking-in at the hotel, Valet attendant Justin became aggressive and got into my face when he learned I wasn't going to use the valet services. I actually thought he was going to punch me. Justin has serious rage issues. Hey, Marriott, I will do my best to never stay at a Marriott hotel again.
