I stayed at the AC Hotel for one night in June 2024 and had a pretty good experience. Upon arriving, there was one person working the desk and I was able to get into a room several hours before the official check-in time (never hurts to ask). My room, on the 3rd floor, was nice and cozy though indeed on the smaller side. The window directly faded another building that seemed to be only a couple hundred feet away, if that. I was able to get natural light but likely goes without saying that I don't love that kind of exposure. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean but I honestly can't imagine sharing the space with another person. Seems like it would be terribly tight. There was just enough room for me and my luggage. When I had to pull out the ironing board though, there was zero space remaining. Yikes. Anyway, the desk was spacious enough to get some work done and the bathroom was pretty pristine. I appreciated the water pressure and temperature in the shower - very nice. The only other thing is that, though the temperature outside was very well into the 90s, my room was pretty frigid. Even with the air conditioning off, I couldn't handle it so I requested a space heater and was graciously provided one. I did venture to the 10th floor for the $15 breakfast fast and I'm not sure it was worth that. Primary options were oatmeal, eggs, and toast. The view of the Capitol building from hotel is gorgeous though, especially from 10th floor. Pretty solid experience overall and would likely stay again though potentially in a larger room.

I had a wonderful two night stay here at AC Hotel in Madison WI. The hotel was clean. However I did not get cleaning service as it was only a short stay. My room also faced directly at the capital building, which was very nice and quiet. I also tried the breakfast and for $15 it is a small buffet style continental breakfast with an hot eggs options. They also offered freshly baked croissants, which were delicious! Overall I thought the staff was nice, attentive and all around a great experience for me.

Construction equipment outside my "High Floor Skyline View" room.

One year later, and the hotel is worse than before. When I arrived I was checked into a room 9' the second floor. There was construction equipment outside my "High Floor Skyline View" room - I paid an up-charge for the specific room, but was told there were no more available because they were overbooked. Coincidentally, the room type in their system also changed to reflect a different type of room. However, my email confirmation indicates the room I paid for. The manager was quite oblivious on how to respond to a bad situation, and should seriously not be running a hotel. On Monday, I had the delightful experience of being woken up by construction working laughing and chatting directly outside my window as they got ready to start their shift, this was at 6AM. Unbelievable. I've filed a formal complaint with Marriott customer service, as this stay was so unbelievably terrible. I chose this hotel because the finishes are a little nicer and newer, so not be fooled. This hotel is the worst if you'd like a sound nights sleep.

THERE WAS AN EYELASH ... ON THE FLOOORRR!!!! We first came in and it was just sitting there like no one cleans this place!!! And on top of that, the doormen were soooo mean to my mom! they watched us struggle to get our luggage in and all the doormen were just on their phones watching us suffer

Yay! I'm a fan... I stayed here on a girls weekend 4/27- 4/29. I had read the reviews about the noise so I mentioned that to the checkin guy and asked for a quite floor- he gave us the 6th floor- it was perfect! We had two comfortable queen beds and a view of the Capital. The shower has a waterfall shower head which was nice. I'm not sure why people say the rooms are small- I didn't think that at all. I like that they have a hydration station on each floor and the gym has a nice view of the Capital. Every employee we encountered was friendly. Valet is $20/night I docked a star b/c when you enter the hotel, there is a overwhelming smell of some sort of cologne spray (think Abercrombie or Hollister) that slaps you in the face...

The floor to ceiling windows in my room that faced that capital building were amazing, made me feel like loyalty.

The space is two cars, with one set up as a full-time bar, and the other a mixed space that was a dance club on the night we visited. The bar car was super cute and quaint, but also tight and cramped, especially with a crowd. The car is set up with a single person bar towards the back, and lounge seating along one side leaving small space for folks to walk and wait for the bar. The other car had the bar up front and the dance floor and seating in the back. This car had a cover, so we just did cocktails and lounged a bit in the bar car. The single bartender, while he was friendly and made a good cocktail, created a backlog of folks waiting for drinks. We waited 10 minutes in a single file line for our cocktails. I went with the espresso martini, and my pal got an old fashioned. Both tasty, but the glassware was wayyyyy too small. The line never cleared, so we did one and done unfortunately. The concept is great, but execution is lacking. I know there is limited space, but the current layout and function is not the greatest, especially on the cocktail car side of things. Overall, it was cool to experience and now we can say we have done it.

I got to see the Static-X/Sevendust/Dope show, and fortunate to enjoy it from one of the few suites (far from the mosh pit!) that line the perimeter of the viewing area. The location: If you love downtown, this is a great location. If you fear downtown Madison, well, sorry. The good news is you can find decent (or free) parking nearby without getting lost in the mess of one way streets and chaos. The better news is that there's no shortage of places for your "pregame" efforts, whether you are looking for dinner or just a cocktail. The venue: The Sylvee is clean and tidy. You can tell it was built for the best concert-going experience. Plenty of room to move about, good bathroom situation, and numerous places to find a beverage. Up by the suites? Even better, with a special bar and bathroom situation just for them. And the bars have a great selection of craft/local beers. Overall the technology in the venue is great. The sound is excellent, and the lighting is on point. I know a lot has to do with the act that is in town, but Sylvee seems to have what they need to put on a good show. Now, you won't find Aerosmith or KISS coming by to do a show here, but you can find some pretty sizable acts performing here. If you find a show in town that really trips your trigger - and it's at The Sylvee... book it! You won't be sorry.
