I absolutely adore staying at any of the hotel Indigo's they go above and beyond to decorate fabulously and make the experience exceptional. What I love about this particular Indigo , is that they took an old paint factory and made it into a hotel while still paying homage to the paint factory and those people that made the paint factory work and important humans from Madison. I love a hotel that comes with history. The staff here were not at all inviting, and "luke warm" at best. They seemed a lot more conditioned and "call center vibe". Both the check-in staff and the checkout staff. Nobody seems like they actually wanted to speak to you or help you. But overall, I gave the hotel and the location at 10 out of 10 this is in an ideal location now that you can find a whole bunch of restaurants are bars located right by that are actually open I'm not sure what the timing is in Madison. What's wrong with this area? That businesses may can't survive but it's a very short walk to the downtown area and they have some historical buildings nearby there's a lot of free museums nearby so the location is really really good. The room was just lovely. It was so cutely decorated and it gave all the Omege again to it being a previous paint manufacturing place. The rims were quiet they were clean not much of a view from the windows from the room I was in, but that's okay. I slept for the night and then went out for the day. The shower was great. My only disappointment there was that all of the hotel indigos I've stayed in have had (MALIN+GOETZ) toiletry products in the bathroom. This is a product I love so much and one of the reasons I book at hotel Indigo. But not at this location they have a very manly scented toiletry products in there bathroom. So next time when I book here, I will ensure that I bring my own toiletry products because I don't wanna smell like a man, I'm a lady.

This was our 2nd stay at Indigo and both visits were wonderful! This is a unique hotel that used to be the old Mautz Paint Company. Indigo did a fabulous job of designing every corner of the hotel, the rooms and restaurant/bar areas. Our room was clean, colorful, fun and quite. The bathrooms are amazing, featuring double sinks and dual shower heads. Very comfortable beds! Dinner and breakfast did not disappoint. Everything we had was delicious and the staff was great, as well. We look forward to staying again in the future.

What a fabulous experience from start to finish. We were able to check in early and Clark informed us of all the amenities such as a shuttle bus to the game and the specialty cocktail in the lobby. Parking is super easy right across the street in a parking garage for $18. Rooms were stylish and clean too! Can't wait to return !

I'm sooo late! But i had this place as an overnight and when I say THER ABSOLUTE CUTEST & CLEANEST! First off the staff is extremely friendly and I love the story behind it. It use to be an old paint warehouse or something like that. So the theme of it circles around "painting" and it's absolutely sooo cute! Y'all it's sooo clean in there! Even the hotel coffee the next morning was good! I definitely recommend and give you guys 5 stars! I actually appreciate the great hospitality. See you soon!

They did a fabulous job in converting the old paint factory into a beautiful boutique hotel. The art playfully uses the paint theme throughout the hotel. Nice retro fridge in the room with large screen television and lots of USB plug-ins for charging electronics. Good temperature control, comfortable bed, and wonderful shower instead of a bath with a shower curtain. Only complaints might be that the shower floor is very slippery with soft water and it would be nice to have a bottle of water or two because I don't care to drink soft water. Parking was included which was a big bonus and they less than a mile from the capital.

Was so pleasantly surprised with cute adorable little hotel. It's a IHG property but they keep their own unique style. Rooms are older but very well kept and modernized with upgraded amenities. Beds comfortable and staff friendly and pleasant.

Sirloin with grilled asparagus. The photo does not do justice for how delicious this was!

The room was clean and had a rustic modern feel. When the carpet is beige, you know they have to take care of it consistently. Everything had a plush feel. The shower had a rainfall showerhead and a handheld. There's a scent that emanates throughout the hotel and into your room. It's light and adds to the ambiance. It's also in the sheets and linen too. I guess that adds to one of the negatives I list later in that the HVAC seems to be centrally controlled. There was some very minor debris in the sink that may have been left from wiping of a dirty rag, but that was mostly it. Gym was nice and parking was plentiful and free. What I didn't like: - Mini fridge in the room had a lot of snacks and other drinks that I assume were for sale. I usually pack my own food, so those items took up some space in the fridge - I get cold easily, so I try to adjust the thermostat, but it's centrally controlled, which I've never seen... I'm assuming all of the rooms are regulated in this way... - Breakfast bar- had bare minimal which I really don't mind. I really wouldn't expect a place like this to serve you breakfast unless it was full service. Would definitely come back

Does not have full breakfast but does have grab and go muffins, fruit, coffee, etc. They also have a rooftop bar where one can sit inside or outside. Full bar with good bartenders. Menu is limited but still plenty to choose from. We had an order of mussels and a charcuterie tray. Both were very good. Our bartender was Colton and he took good care of us.

This was notably less expensive than the hotels close to the Capitol and not as cheap as the ones a little further out in the suburbs. This hit the sweet spot. Would definitely stay here again. PROS: Super clean and tidy everywhere; Fair value; No charge for parking; Handy free shuttle (that we used to go to Camp Randall for the big grad ceremony); Only a 20 minute walk to Camp Randall; Washer & dryer on several floors which was super helpful when we unexpectedly needed to wash a few things; Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful; Nice modest restaurant inside hotel; Sandwiched next to two busy street and I am a very light sleeper but had no problem w the noise (we were on University St side); Beds were comfortable; Fantastic food; AC wall unit performed just fine; Bathroom was in excellent shape w a shower only; Spectacular lunch place to eat across the street called Pasture and Plenty, what a find! CONS: Shuttle was busy a few times and we didn't want to wait so we grabbed a Lyft (not a big deal); Some of the carpets and furniture were slightly worn but not an issue. If you want the Four Seasons don't stay here but you're paying a very fair price. Pros WAY outweighed the Cons

They couldn't care less about conducting an ethical transaction much less a positive experience. I sincerely hope everyone at the Edgewater has the day they deserve. **Update** Wow. They didn't even mail the card until 5/10/2026. The person who prepared the gift card had to write the words "Happy Mother's Day" on the card and then waited until Mother's Day to send it...with insufficient postage (that I paid $7.00 for). The Edgewater is downright repulsive.

The staff was very friendly, but our visit started off on a concerning note. When we were checking in, the gentleman at the front desk told me that the pool had failed inspection and that there would be another inspection the next day, so hopefully it would be open that afternoon the next day. Already gross if you can't pass inspection and a bad first impression. When we walked down to our room, there were empty Amazon boxes littering common areas. This place could be featured on hotel hell if it was still running/producing seasons. I was really disappointed with our room. I absolutely LOVE the idea of themed rooms, but ours clearly hadn't been serviced in a long time. It smelled horribly musty, the bed was so thin and uncomfortable that we could feel the wood frame underneath, and the bathroom was gross. My back was really sore in the morning, and it was not a good way to start off a day of hiking. The wallpaper was all peeling and it's clear this room hasn't really been updated in a while. We didn't feel comfortable touching the carpet so we wore our crocs the whole time we were there. Breakfast was mediocre at best. The arm of my chair also broke off as I was trying to pull it into the table. The biscuits and gravy were very cafeteria like and I didn't even want to touch the eggs because they came in the weird shaped circles like the kind you get from McDonald's. My stomach felt really bad after eating breakfast both times so l don't recommend eating breakfast, even if it is included. I lived in a dorm for three years at school, so I'm pretty used to less than ideal conditions, but this even grossed me out. It's clear this place has a lot of really cool history, but it reached its peak a long time ago and I'm sad I wasn't able to see it in its prime. I would've loved to come back, but not for $180 dollars a night. Taxes and fees came to nearly $100, so for two nights and three days we payed $464. 400+ dollars and we didn't even feel comfortable taking our shoes off? Not worth it. As much as I love the themed suite ideas, don't waste your money to get terrible food and dirty rundown rooms.

When I arrived, they somehow "lost" my original reservation and created a new one instead -- resulting in me being charged twice. The manager was incredibly rude, refused to actually listen to the situation, repeatedly implied I was lying, and showed zero interest in helping fix a mistake their hotel created. Rather than taking accountability or even attempting to investigate the duplicate charge properly, I was met with hostility and disrespect throughout the entire conversation. To make matters worse, Expedia even reached out to the hotel on my behalf to help resolve the duplicate charge, and they still refused to issue a refund. Despite clear documentation and third-party involvement, the hotel continued denying responsibility and offered absolutely no solution. I have never experienced such poor treatment from a hotel, especially over an issue that was clearly caused by their own reservation system and staff errors. Between the lack of upkeep, disorganized operations, terrible communication, and unbelievably unprofessional management, I would strongly advise others to stay elsewhere. There are far too many hotels that actually value their guests, treat people with respect, and take responsibility when mistakes happen.
