I think your experience at the AC Hotel Columbus depends entirely on your priorities. If you're looking for clean, safe, modern, and stylish, this place absolutely delivers. The hotel appears recently renovated, the rooms are attractive, parking was easy, and I never felt unsafe. The views are nice, the bed is comfortable, the TV setup is excellent, and there are plenty of outlets and USB ports for charging devices. Now, if you're looking for peace, quiet, and uninterrupted sleep, your mileage may vary. Let's start with the room itself. It's beautiful, but some of the design choices seem to prioritize aesthetics over comfort. There are no dimmable lights, which became noticeable when I needed to get up during the night. The air conditioning wouldn't go below 68 degrees, which may be fine for some guests, but as a woman of a certain age, I'd have preferred a few more degrees of flexibility. I brought leftovers back to the room to save a little money during my stay, only to discover there isn't a microwave available. Not a deal breaker, but something travelers may want to know. The bathroom features a frosted glass barn door. I understand the design concept, but when I'm in the restroom, I prefer actual privacy. The bigger issue was that I couldn't get the door to close completely. It left about a six-inch gap no matter how much effort I put into it. For context, I'm not exactly a gym rat, but I'm also an old-school Southern mama who can move furniture when necessary. If I couldn't close it, I'm guessing others may struggle too. The toilet seat was another adventure. Apparently it wasn't secured properly, which I discovered in the middle of the night when it shifted unexpectedly. Let's just say I wasn't expecting to participate in a rodeo during my hotel stay. Noise was probably my biggest concern. The desk chairs scrape loudly across the hard flooring, and the sound carries. If someone in a nearby room decides to work late or can't sleep, you'll know about it. I could also hear conversations, arguments, and even snoring from neighboring rooms. That's where the hotel lost the most points for me. Now for the highlight: the restaurant and bar. The food was consistently excellent. The crispy potatoes, burger, and meatballs were all standouts and easily some of the best meals I had during my stay. If you're staying at the hotel, don't overlook the restaurant. And if Josh is bartending, order the tequila-based Old Fashioned. Trust me. After multiple nights and multiple bartenders, Josh's version was outstanding. The others were perfectly drinkable, but his was on another level. Bottom Line: If you want a clean, attractive, safe hotel with good food, convenient parking, and a great bar, you'll probably be very happy here. If your top priority is a cool room, complete bathroom privacy, and a truly quiet night's sleep, you may want to consider other options. Would I stay again? There are some principal necessities every hotel should ensure their guest are able to provide soap, water, Towels. This hotel failed in this area after given several opportunities to correct the issue by the housekeeper and the front desk whom were all made aware of our basic need. We will stay elsewhere in the future read more

Beautiful facility, great location, great bar, friendly staff. June in South Georgia and thermostats are locked at an optimistic 69 degrees. Warm and muggy room and that's the accepted standard. I stayed in a cheaper holiday in last night and had a comfortable bed and excellent cold air conditioning. read more

We had a nice three day stay here, it's pretty new and generally well kept house. Our room had a terrible view considering it right by the river but I never made an issue abut it. The staff is very friendly but it seemed like everyone was in the management training program, anxious to help but at times not sure of what to do. Lots of free parking and it's really well located within walking distance of lots of places in Columbus. I did not eat or drink here as there are lots of better options nearby. read more

I thought the location was nice. The parking was full by the time we arrived and we were in our high top van so it bumped the height bar just a lil bit. Very nice facility. Lobby smelled lovely and the front clerks were well dressed and professional. Thats a plus for sure. Our room was cozy. We didn't get a chance to check the facility out but we did notice the bottle filler and Ice machine by the elevator. There were bottles of water in the fridge for us so that was a nice touch. We did get to walk downtown after 9pm but most places were closed. Overall we would stay here again. read more

Fraud Alert. On 8/4/23 I was fraudulently charged a night at the AC hotel downtown Columbus, Ga. The charge was 200 dollars. I had stayed at this hotel 2 1/2 months ago. I called over 8 times now without any resolution. On one of those phone calls, I was told that my Identification had to be presented before receiving the keys. Now you tell me if I wasn't on the property, how was my identification with a likeness to me shown? This is a breech of security, privacy, confidentiality and a whole lot of wasted time. It is still not resolved. I would recommend not staying here if you don't want to have unlawful charges to your credit card. read more

Parking was always full, my room condiments were out to include soap, laying in bed doing work (naked) and my door opens in the 9 am hour I jump up to see who opened my door put towel on and open it saw engineer guy who claims he didn't open it he asked housekeeping she stated she didn't open it, go to front desk and nobody has an answer as to who opened my door. Ask if they have cameras and to view them. Was given GM info after another front desk clerk but in on our conversation being rude. That's a very scary feeling to be in a room and a door opens way before checkout time smh read more

I wish I had read the reviews. This place was an absolute disaster. Consistently it disappointed. I have NEVER had this bad of experience at a Marriott property. Let's not start with all the negatives, the positives...downtown which is convenient to restaurants and local activities, nice ambiance, on site bar, and beautiful décor. I booked a room for 5 days. Upon arriving on my floor, I noticed specks of trash throughout the hallway. Directly across from my room, the room had a quite a bit of debris and what appeared to be apple peels. It appeared as if the vacuum cleaner had spilled the debris it picked up. I noticed the cleaning cart at the end of the hall, so I figured they just hadn't made their way to vacuuming down the hall. Upon my return later that evening, I noticed the toilet paper was used and was not a new role of toilet paper. The replacement toilet paper in the room had a pink residue on it. I've never check into a hotel and had to use toilet paper from a previous guest. I called downstairs and they said they didn't have a night cleaning crew, but they would have someone come to "refresh" my room. The next morning, I stopped downstairs and mentioned this to the front desk. They said they would have the manager contact me. Because I had paid for 5 days, I wanted to know when I could check out without penalty, again I would need to wait to hear from a manager. Fast forward to 8 pm Wednesday night and I return to my room with no service again. The room hadn't been clean. I have been acquiring my own towels from the front desk since my arrival. Thursday morning, I called and finally spoke with a manager, and she was dismissive of ALL my concerns. I will not even bother to stay the remaining days. It is a waste of my money! read more

Terrible customer service. I'm an easy going Marriott gold level guest and recently visited on official federal government travel. Had an issue with the bill and the hotel manager (tall bald man) was the least helpful person I've met in the 12 years I've been staying at Marriott properties. His employees were clearly afraid of him to the point where I was concerned for their well-being. He kept quoting policies and procedures not written down anywhere that he pulled out of thin air. The change to the bill I was attempting to make was something I've done at every other Marriott property when on work travel however he is the only one who was unwilling to make a simple billing code change to be in compliance with federal travel regulations. Will never be back. If you visit, please check in on the welfare of his poor front desk staff- they might need rescue. read more
