Marin House said that they could not even give us a receipt because we went through a third-party. So, one week later, I see that we were charged for three nights, even though we checked out after the first night. ReservationDesk.com said that they contacted Marin House, who told them that since we checked out after the first night, it was against their B&B POLICY, and they are refusing to refund FOR THE TWO NIGHTS THAT WE WERE NOT EVEN THERE!!!!! EVEN THOUGH WE WERE LIED TO ABOUT THE ROOM. Sandy, the owner, got her britches into a big bunch because we were singing, and our choice of language apparently offended the geriatric crowd there.... Staff was working outside making sure all was presentable and taken care of the 4 days we were there. Checkin was different with a robot type setup. Quick and easy. DJ the manager was easy to talk to and helpful when we called a few times before our stay. Would recommend for a quiet place to stay without all the big commercial hotels and loud surroundings. I originally booked a stay for my elderly father, but within 30 minutes realized the hotel has no elevators. Because he has serious knee problems, the property was not accessible for him. Despite explaining the situation and that we live seven hours away, the manager refused to refund the reservation. Instead, he issued a credit for a future stay. When I later used that credit to book a three-night stay, I specifically confirmed with DJ Patel that the credit would cover the entire cost. He assured me it would. At check-in, however, my father was told he would have to pay a $45 fee to check in... just 30 minutes early, plus an additional $187 that had never been disclosed. When I contacted the manager to ask that he honor what he had confirmed, he refused and, instead of addressing the issue professionally, told me that I "needed medical assistance." I remained respectful throughout every interaction and simply asked that the hotel honor the agreement that had been confirmed. Instead, I encountered misleading pricing, shifting explanations, and a deeply inappropriate personal insult. No customer should be treated this way. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic respect was far worse than the financial dispute itself. I cannot recommend this hotel based on my experience with its dishonest, unprofessional and disrespectful management.

While trying to reach someone, I began reading recent reviews and was concerned to see multiple negative experiences reported by other guests. We had not reviewed them beforehand because we had previously stayed at this bed and breakfast and had a wonderful experience. We later learned that the property had recently been sold. When we arrived at the bed and breakfast, there was no one on site to check us in. We continued calling, texting, and emailing without any response. As a result, we were left without accommodations and had to secure alternative lodging at additional expense and inconvenience. Despite not being provided with the reserved accommodations and receiving no communication from the business, we were still charged for the booking. We are requesting a full refund and an explanation for this situation.

We haven't seen any single employee since we arrived. Our bed wasn't made and towels weren't refreshed overnight. Maybe that's okay at a Motel 6 but at $300 a night or more you should absolutely do better. To get in and out of the inn and your room, you have to enter a code on a keypad which works about 20% of the time. We just let some other guests in because their code wouldn't work on the front door. Bottom line, whoever owns and operates this place has absolutely no sense of hospitality. It's not a bed and breakfast. It's not an inn. it would be generous to describe it as a self-service hostel. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else.

I read a couple reviews about this and requested a room away from the road when I booked. When we got to the hotel they said that every room on the quiet side was occupied. I was upset and asked if a higher floor would be better as they did have those. The staff member assured me that when they placed our room they would have given me the best at that time. We ended up on a second floor room that felt like we were on a drag race strip. This did not help me sleep and I was up most of the night tossing and turning. The room also did not appear to be two queen beds as booked but rather two fulls. Or have hotel beds shrunk and I am just now learning this? It also had a shower instead of a tub which was not good for my toddler to take a bath. This was my mistake for not researching that more as I thought be the photos it looked like they did have them. The room was spacious and came with a mini fridge and microwave. There is free self parking at the hotel. Since the hotel is at least a 15 minutes walk downtown, they offer a shuttle that takes you there although we didn't use it. Overall, I would not stay at this hotel again unless I could be guaranteed a room away from the road. I'm surprised at all of the good reviews on Yelp but maybe they got better rooms or are heavy sleepers.

Nice sized, with comfy beds and pillows. The bathroom had me concerned because the sink didn't look like it was cleaned. There was a small chunk of toothpaste in the sink and some spots which made me wonder if the rest of the room had been cleaned thoroughly. There was also a used coffee k cup in the machine and the drip area was wet with old coffee. We mentioned it to the front desk on our way out to dinner and when we returned just before 10pm we were told we could switch rooms. I didn't want to pack and unpack all over again. We declined as we were tired and just wanted to go to sleep. Thank God for the small sink in the main room because that's what we used. In the morning we got up to shower only to find there really wasn't hot water. Two lukewarm showers later we were frustrated and checked out. We weren't asked how our stay was by the front desk so we didn't ask if hot water has been an issue. We won't be staying here again.

We booked this place for the night of lights festival this year…read more Location: Pretty good location to downtown. It's about 1.5 miles. They offer a $5 a day shuttle that stop services at 10:00pm. Or you can walk to downtown in about 40 min. I highly recommend walking if you're able as traffic during night of lights is crazy! And you just might get there faster walking. Price: We paid roughly $270 total for two nights. Which considering it was during night of lights that's a very affordable and reasonable cost. No complaints there at all. Room: The room itself was basic. It was clean for the most part. They only offer body wash and hand soap. No shampoo, conditioner or lotion. My boyfriend said he saw a silverfish bug in the shower that grossed him out. But no other bugs seen. Customer service: We had an incident while staying there. This is a dog friendly inn which is nice, however our neighbors left their two dogs yapping non stop in the room while they went out and enjoyed their vacation. My boyfriend was not feeling well and this was becoming a nuisance. We finally snapped and went downstairs to talk with a worker. We spoke with Dustin who reached out to the occupants of the room and management and then after about 30 min the barking ceased. Initially Dustin was somewhat flustered and seemed annoyed ( I understand people have off days). We went back up to our rooms and later that evening Dustin stopped by to make sure that we were having a better experience. Which we thought was nice. Breakfast: Breakfast is included. You'll get eggs, sausage, an assortment of breads/sweets, coffee, yogurt and they had apples one day. Nothing fancy but if you're traveling on a budget and want to cut costs on food it's not bad. Overall 3/5. It's a decent Inn/ motel for the cost. The reason for a lower star rating is simply because we would have liked to know ahead to request to be in a dog free building. Don't get me wrong, we love dogs and have two of our own but the two dogs yapping for hours on end really changed our experience.
