Walking the woodpecker loop 1.8 miles and it was beautiful. Water features, few places to sit and rest, trash cans and a covered spot in case of rain. Ample bird watching opportunities. Saw blue jay, yellow finch, robins, etc. beautiful! Ample parking. Water fountains too. read more

If you walk or jog this is the place, and it's suitable for wheelchairs and scooters. The park is a former golf course so the paths are along lots of trees and plants that were once the fairways. A cool memory of the course are the wooden steps leading up to the former first tee. Signs show the distances of the many paths. There is shade, but bring a water bottle. A few benches are along the way. Call to get a tour with a naturalist using golf cars! Along our walk we saw a baby mole scurrying along the grass. A Monarch caterpillar was on a milkweed plant, and the milkweeds are everywhere. Love trees? Lots of oak trees and others line the paths. Redwing blackbirds were chirping. In the mornings and evenings I've was told you can see a lot of deer. A shelter is available for group events. There are a few picnic tables under the trees. More tables are needed. Large parking area. Handicapped accessible. read more

Just a nice trek, nothing special. Not a lot of trees or wildlife. There were a lot of people there and it was an easy, manicured walk.

Wow! I feel so silly I've driven past this park millions of times and never stopped to explore. Located directly across the street from Beachwood Place and closeby Legacy Village, I know you've driven by this former country club turned park. It's a hidden gem but hiding in plain sight. The style of this reservation is really meant for walking/running. The paths are lush, overgrown (but intentionally managed), there's an abundance of flowers, critters all around you, two ponds, and plenty of benches throughout the reservation if you need a break. There's also water fountains and a public restroom at the top of the entrance near the public parking. I found this reservation extremely calming, peaceful, and cathartic. I really forgot I was in Beachwood. The walking paths are manageable for the average person and don't require any special abilities. It was a pleasure to walk here and just take in the sights on a clear day. The paths weren't overly crowded and we met a couple of very good boys being walked by the owners, as well as a few kids rollerblading. I feel so silly I haven't frequented this amazing spot sooner...what a treat to have this in the suburbs. read more

OK I have gone past this park and I've seen the Acacia sign a million times. I don't know why but I thought it was just a parking lot! So today, just on a whim, I decided to pull in and check it out. To my surprise, I find that this is a legit park, with paved trails, trees, etc. right in the heart of Beachwood (directly across from Menorah park. It's great for dog walking. read more

Awesome place to take a stroll, relax and soak up some nature, and to birdwatch! Located in Lyndhurst, this park/greenway is a great spot! There is plenty of parking and a paved path that goes through lush wildflowers. Every time I walk here, I see animals such as deer, squirrels, and lots of birds. I've seen some pretty big bucks here actually. This is a tranquil place and I love coming here to wind down and enjoy nature. read more

This is a newer park in Beachwood and is a beautiful place to take a walk! As a photographer, I am always looking for new locations to shoot portraits, and Acacia Reservation does not disappoint. This is a gem of a park. Nice paved walking paths, with benches. Lots of people there, some with strollers, and some with dogs - most were on leashes, but not at all crowded. Quiet. You can hear nature. Easy access right off of Cedar, across from Cleveland Clinic Beachwood office. read more

I love this Cleveland Metroparks location! And not just because it's practically in my back yard. Acacia Reservation is a former golf course with golf cart paths as trails. There's flat and hilly terrain and some beautiful scenery. It's been cool to watch the park transform from a manicured golf course to the wilderness. There are a few ponds within the park where fishing is allowed. It's not my thing, but I always see families hanging out by the water. There's also a facility on site available for rental. I had the opportunity to check it out for an event and there's a very nice bar area and a few rooms that seem perfect for smaller functions like showers and birthday parties. On site catering is provided by Dino's, and their food is generally pretty good. If you're in the area, this is definitely a cool place to check out for a walk, hike, run, or bike ride. Or even to hold an event! read more

I live across the street from this park and ever since I moved back to Cleveland, this is my go to park for a nice jog/bike ride. It has a nice trail that loops you around the park seeing thru the different neighborhoods and ponds around there. And if you have a fishing license, this park has ponds with large mouth bass. Lastly this park has more upgrades to come and so look out in the future. read more

Really unique addition to the MetroPark system. It's very cool to still be able to make out the fairways and the sand traps. It is surprising how quickly nature has taken over and grown out the sand traps and water holes with plant life. This is a very expansive park and while the road and traffic is visible from some areas the majority of the park makes you forget you are in the middle of a city - it's quiet too. There are restrooms. There are also park benches throughout the entire park, including close to the parking lot so if you want to just stop in for a place to quick eat your lunch you can do that without having to walk too far. All the paths are in good condition and they are all paved. There is a perimeter path as well as an internal path with many loops. Check out the image from Google's satellite maps that I posted. You can look at it here or even better look at it on your iPhone when you are there as you will then have the blue dot indicating your location. It is neat to see on the map what the golf course around you used to look like and it helps to know which path you are walking on. read more

I let clients who move here from other lands know that the living here in Cleveland is good, and some of the best things are found in the Cleveland Metroparks. After years of telling folks about all the great things to do here, and then not taking my own advice, and working a gazillion hours per week, I decided to get a little crazy today and vacate my desk at lunchtime. I put the lease onto Waldo dog (dog-friendly places are my favorite!) and we were at Acacia in a few minutes. The weather was gorgeous today, and there were several other people (one with her own pooch) out enjoying the pathways. There are restrooms, benches and gazebo for sitting and thinking, dog doo bags available by the trash cans (each pair of pants and/or jacket that I own seems to always have a bag in a pocket, but I appreciate when places make them available, and a large parking lot. Waldo and I walked just one loop (work does need to be done so that kibble can be purchased, right?), so we will need to return when we have a bit more time to explore and walk a bit more. The terrain is gentle, so a good pair of tennis shoes are sufficient here Across the road are a shopping mall (not dog-friendly), in case you want to drop off a companion who would rather shop than walk, and a Cleveland Clinic facility (also not dog-friendly, but with an urgent care inside) in the event you take a tumble and need a doc. read more

Why have I not been here before? This is a great little park. If you need get your booty groovin and movin this is a good spot. There are a few different loops. No getting lost in this the land of loops. So if you get a little loopy it's OK. One of the loops, has some nice hills I did a few repeats on them for a better work out. Oh there is not a ton of shade in the park so bring sunscreen, hat, umbrella etc... if you are not worshiping RA, otherwise known as a sun diety. read more

Love this place. I wish I had been able to use it as a golf course, but it is fantastic and a hike and bike. It also has stocked ponds with bass and lots of nature exploding all around. It is also great for the family. There are benches for resting an a gazebo or two for some shade. The clubhouse is used for venues to include weddings. read more

Excellent resource management and nature restoration is happening here at this Mertropark. Lots of people also come to walk, jog, bike, fish with their children, bird-watch, or train their dogs. The summer wildflowers are also truly a sight to see. Hopefully they and the trees will one day block the eyesore of Acacia Estates' McMansions. I'm sorry but isn't an "estate" a near-castle on endless acres of property? It looks like some customers have been duped into buying crowded cookie-cutters. (Thank you, Perrino Builders.) The least they could do is stop leaching their lawn chemical fertilizers into the fish ponds. read more

Love Acacia! I use it almost daily. The trails are always plowed in the winter and the maintenance staff is very courteous. The Rangers and always on patrol and I feel like it's the safest park in Cleveland. One complaint, it's a bit too much of a hike for those of us that fish in the north ponds. Sometime the trek can take 25 mins! It would be nice to park in the house off Richmond! Great job Cleveland Metroparks! read more

This facility is gorgeous. I recently officiated a wedding here and the ceremony was in front of the fireplace in the entry room. It was a beautiful place. Lots of rooms for getting ready. The food for the lunch time reception was delicious and plentiful. I know the couple and bride's mom were also thrilled with their experience with the venue. I would certainly recommend it! read more
