Royalview is located off the main road in the park. It's not a challenging trail by CAMBA standards, but it is a fun, fast trail that you can maintain a lot of speed on. You won't need a full suspension bike for these trails, but it's always nice to have. I would definitely recommend a front suspension system, however. The two new trails are in great condition. One is yellow (novice) and one is red (intermediate). I don't think either trail is particularly challenging in terms of difficulty of obstacles (there really are none), but the red trail will definitely give you more of a workout. I believe, combined, the trails stretch approximately nine miles. I am adding this review to my list of mountain bike trails around Cleveland, so feel free to browse.

There is a main trail that loops around and borders the lake. Most of the rim there is foliage blocking the view but there are a few open spots and the overlook spot if you want a view of the lake. I would recommend verring onto the Northern Harrier Trail which was our favorite. Felt very whimsical with all of the wildflowers and deer. This is an excellent spot for birding. Saw a few groups with binoculars. I broke our my bird call app and had dozens of birds identified that we then tried to find. Very fun! The trail itself is pretty short but it's worth doing a few laps if you've got the time. Or taking it really slow to soak it up. There is large parking lot available. Google maps takes you right to it.

I'm not from the area and I only came here once at the end of September, so this review could be a bit biased as when I visited the park, there were only a few people. For children, there is much to do. -Most impressive is the rope course which is seasonally operated. The one hour rope course session is free to Geauga County Residents but a $20 fee applies to non-Geauga residents. Unfortunately because I visited in the off season, I was not able to see the course in operation. From the looks of it, a variety of platforms are about 30 or-so-feet with a variety of different obstacles. Upon completion there is a 100ft long zip-line the brings you back down. - A one way only "pump track" is also located in the park and is free to use. For those who may not know, pumping is a technique used by mountain bikers to navigate without pedaling. The trail is 2,025 feet long. - There is a bouldering wall that is 12 feet high and plenty of surface area to try a navigate it completely around. There is also a smaller playground for smaller children that has a canoe sand box and a faux wood log tunnel. Two man made ponds are in the park and are stocked with fish, large mouth bass and Bluegill. A few platforms with benches are located around the ponds. There are 3 trails at this park. There is the White Tail Trail which is of asphalt and is 0.6 miles long, great for those with strollers or wheelchairs. The Drake Trail is 0.5 miles long and is made up of gravel. The Tree Trapper Trail is 1.1 miles long and is made up of gravel. There is a lodge that can be reserved in advanced for private events. It has wifi, Max capacity for 99 people. Eight conference-sized tables with seating for 64 (dining chairs with backs), three high-top/serving tables with seating for 12 (stools, no backs), and two lounge chairs with a coffee table in front of the fireplace. Restrooms are also available with water, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, sink and ample counter space with outlets. Although there is no cooking inside, a grill is located right behind the Lodge. I think the reservation pricing may vary but a quick look on the website has the following prices on their reservation page; Out-of-County Fee: $90.00-Geauga County Resident Fee:$55.00- Seasonal Surcharge: $ 10.00. All in all I am fairly impressed with this family orientated park.

Be prepared to stand and bring some cash or cards with you to indulge in the delicious and reasonably priced fresh snacks available. You can also warm up next to the fireplace at the Chalet while enjoying your treats. They offer alcoholic beverages as well, however, I am not interested in those. For just $15, you have the opportunity to slide up and down the toboggan chute as many times as you'd like. Make sure to visit soon as they will be closing by the end of March 2026.

We decided to go last minute and it was past 2 pm when we tried to reserve tickets (it wouldn't let us). We decided to call the park website and the employee helping me was able to put my name down for the last few slots at 3 pm. That was very kind of them. You are required to wear gloves when you go down on the toboggan (probably to protect your fingers from the cold since you are required to grip ropes). There are a number of stairs you have to climb to get to the top. There were a good amount of people there and we probably needed to wait 15 minutes each time to ride, but the line got shorter as it got closer to closing time. They didn't allow people to enter the line past 4:45 pm since it closes at 5 pm. It was $15 per person but so worth it! What a fun and unique experience. I got to go with my 66 year old dad, my 33 year old sister, and my 18 year old brother as the toboggan sits up to 4. With this many big people on, it made the toboggan go pretty fast! There's a speedometer that calculates your speed for you. It's a little scary but thrilling! Follow the employee's instructions. We even got to race each other because there are 2 chutes. Our respective employees each tried to give our team boosts (my employee hurried to let us out first while the other employee pushed my brother and dad a bit for them to catch up). Would definitely come here again!
