I was in the area from Pittsburgh and was looking for an outdoor activity for my 7 year old. Found this playground online and really loved that it was made for kids of all abilities. The space is set very nicely - with areas for parents to sit that are shady or sunny. The activities are impressive, as the little (big) buildings for the kids to play in really allow for them to use their imaginations to play. Great to see a playground have both the physical activities and imagination type of activities. We really enjoyed it and will return when we're in the area again. The only negative, which doesn't really reduce my rating at all, nor does it keep the kids from having fun, is the fact that some areas do need some repair work. This is why it's important to leave a donation on your way out, if you're able. Hopefully this park can be maintained for years to come! read more

This playground is so fun for children. I love how there are areas for kids of all abilities. Modeled as a town, kids can use their imagination and pretend to be business owners or performers or train conductors or whatever they want. Some areas could use some repairs. All in all, fun times. A fantastic play area for children! If my kids could, they would spend all their time here (ages 3-6). I am so appreciative of the generous sponsor who provided this immense free play zone. It brings me so much joy to see my kids enjoy themselves here. Having visited playgrounds all over the country, I can confidently say that this setup is unlike anything we've come across before. I find it astonishing to see any reviews that rate this place below 5 stars. I have been taking the children in my life to this park for years. Although it has become more popular in recent years, it is still a solid park. The kids have always enjoyed their own little city, while getting some age appropriate developmental exercises in unbeknownst to them. Definitely not your ordinary park experience. From the swings and miniature buildings to the sand attractions and "boat ride", it is a really good time. I highly recommend. read more

This is an awesome place for kids! Our family enjoys all the various activities, play areas, benches, and picnic tables to spend a good time with friends. The playground is well-designed for children with all abilities. Our autistic son loves all the sensory experiences and this playground actually gets him off the iPad. We would come back here again, and would highly recommend it to other families. read more

We truly enjoy this playground each visit however we wish it was a better maintenance for the park. There are plenty options for little ones from the houses to slides; sand sensory play to swings however it is sad to see no maintenance is being done and items are getting deteriorated fast. We will still continue to visit and enjoy what park offers. It is large enough to keep distanced with folks visiting the park. There are restrooms available but no water fountains at the moment functional. read more

The Preston's Hope Village irl is not what you see on the website or in the three year old pictures on Yelp. It is poorly maintained, with peeling paint and missing shingles in the village and has candy wrappers and other trash everywhere. We didn't even attempt the bathrooms as the visible parts of the park were roughshod. Quite a shame, as you can tell that a lot of thought and caring went into the construction. Bottom line, the kids have more fun in a regular neighborhood park like Tony Brush. read more

If I had to name a favorite place that I get to watch my kids explore, have fun but also learn it would be Preston's - this playground is not only accommodating for all types and abled children but for every interest they have an area. It's beautifully maintained (solely on donations so please every visit just a few dollars), is landscaped with turf, has a covered pavilion area to eat, has two levels of play, a rocking boat, a huge sandbox and play houses, cars and motorbikes. The slides, swings and play sets are widely varied and spaced out to allow each kid some space as well as to have to move to get to them all. There are restroom facilities as well as drinking fountains and a few open area picnic tables to sit and watch the kiddos. This park is definitely a special place where kiddos can all come together and play no matter their interests or abilities and have a place to look forward to. Love Preston's! read more

I love when I recommend Preston's Hope Playground to someone and they call me after they go because they can't get their kids to leave. Seriously. It's that amazing. First time I took my nephew, he was 4 and was so excited he could barely speak! He was running from house to house yelling things that may not have been words. There is so much to do here and the sensory is overload! I love the concept of a safe place to play that accommodates all children. Before we walk in, we always stop at the display out front so I can take the opportunity to teach the kids a little about diversity. The park is well-maintained and has plenty of seating for adults to chill. Please consider leaving a donation in the box by the restrooms- it's for such a wonderful cause! read more

The park is real nice but NO PETS allowed. All the grass in the play area is a real nice Astro turf very cushy to walk on. Much better for younger kids. My 10 and 13 yr olds liked it but they got board quickly. It is a nice size but my expectation was that it was bigger. Nice tennis courts adjacent to the play area. Most of the slides are under 6ft there were a couple that were bigger. This is a great playground for handicap people. Ramps connecting everywhere. read more

A great park for an afternoon. This place is amazing! There's little buildings for kids to go into to explore. It's a great place for kids of all ages. My favorite is that the ground is soft everywhere so you don't have to worry as much about kids falling down. There's a pavilion area when you walk in where you can sit and have lunch. There's swings, slides, a gigantic sand box (not too clean the last few times we have been here....reminds me of huge liter box honestly) rock walls, you name it, it's here! We love it here! This large playground has toddler and big kid slides, sand pit, all kinds of climbing structures for wide range of age, see saw, a real bathroom (not a portapotty) with unclogged sink, vending machine, 2 picnic areas with plenty table/seats, multi-level playground, a rocking boat (not on water but feels pretty real). A lot of things to do. My tot has been coming here this whole summer, and she can still spend 3 hours easily without eating bored, unlike some of the other smaller playgrounds. read more

We took my great grandson there today I haven't been there in awhile I was shock to the conditions of the building s peeling paint and graffiti written on some and the landscape around it has been neglected the playground equipment is still in really nice shape still so sad to see i know this play ground gets a work out with all the people that pass through here but I think it's ash it hast been kept up I just wondering who to called I would be willing to help it's a beautiful park and great for children with disabilities but it does need to be mantain read more

The park was constructed in honor of a boy with spinal muscular atrophy who later passed away. The park is made so that children of all abilities can play. There's many playground-type items as well as lots of "play" houses (fire station, school, gym, etc.) and a large sand area where kids can build sandcastles or just play. We were so impressed at how clean it was (even the restrooms!) and also at its size. It was worth the 1/2 hour drive, and we'll definitely be back. read more

It's totally one of a kind, I drove 20 min to take my little ones here after hearing how awesome it is! It's designed for kids of all ages, and activity types being disabled is a NON factor at this park which I love. It's like a mini town for kids to run around safely in, free from fear of crazy people or creepers looking at them from a distance. It's covered with grass turf which is great to help when kids fall, tons of swings and things to climb, slides in every direction, every height every difficulty. I felt really safe here with my boys. I wish there was something similar on the west side but it's totally worth the drive! read more

An amazing park built by the community at the jewish community center. Astroturf laid for year round access and also disabled friendly. Great park located on the east side. Worth the drive from the west side if you're looking for a new playground for your kid to explore. It's often crowded but there is plenty of space. In addition to slides and swings, they have a sand area and lots of play shops and stores for a child who loves imagination. I also like that it's astroturf for the most part so you don't have to worry about mud. Bathrooms close during the colder months so plan ahead. The only downside is if you have multiple children, then it will be hard to watch them all at the same time as there are lots of different areas for kids to play. read more

I've been wanting to take my kids here for a while, and finally made it out this past weekend. The photos on Yelp do not do it justice, but I have to say it was not as awesome as I thought it was going to be. It is large and exquisitely maintained. But my kids just didn't have as much fun here as they do at your average neighborhood playground. There were more than a few meltdowns about not enough swings and too hot to touch slides. The mini town area looks cool, but there were very few kids actually playing in the buildings when I was there. If I lived nearby, we'd probably come back. For us it won't be worth a repeat of the 20 minute drive. read more

This is a great interactive playground. I took a group of Autistic kids to this playground & they had a blast. There are think to keep kids stimulated and entertained. There is a nice path around the playground and most of the areas have the bouncy-material for soft-landings in case the kid falls / jumps / or hits a head. Loads of swings and buildings decorated to look like businesses (banks, gyms, beauty shop, etc.) A very cool playground I'm sure I would have loved as a kid! read more

This is one of the most unique playgrounds I have ever been to. To briefly describe it, imagine your elementary school safety town... now blow that up x10. That's what you get at Preston's Hope park. There's a rather interesting story behind it, but the short version is that it's completely wheelchair and handicap accessible. However, you'll quickly find that it's enjoyable for all types of children. The giant houses are a dream come true for kids who love to play and hide. I will say it makes challenging to keep an eye on them, especially if you have a larger group, however the park itself is contained by a fence, so it's not too terribly worrisome. There's also a decent sized sand pit, swings and a few teeter totters. My biggest criticism is that despite how popular this park is, the pavilion is negligible. It has no more than 6 small tables that can seat about 8 kids each and there's a lot of unusable space in the pavilion itself since the tables are place sort of oddly. This makes it hard if you want to be able to enjoy lunch with even a small group. Also they do have restrooms, but it's a single stall, so the line can get backed up rather quickly. This makes it difficult if you really wanted to spend the day here. Still though, I think this is a really impressive park and would definitely recommend to others looking for something unique to bring their kids to. read more
