This place is not good! They don't have actual teachers watching your children! Be careful with where you send your children!!

My friend (a new mom) was looking for childcare as she was preparing to return to work. Choosing a daycare for our daughter was hard. Choosing a daycare for our daughter in the middle of a global pandemic was incredibly difficult. We looked at several places, but after being home with my daughter every day since she was born, I was NOT ready to be away from her. That whole week leading up to the drop-off, I was a wreck. I was filled with mom guilt and worry until the minute we arrived. We got her out of the car and she just lit up. Without even seeing inside the building, I knew she was in the best, most capable hands. The Academy has handled the challenges of the current circumstances with health and safety guidelines, while still fostering an environment of inclusivity, community and comfort. The staff genuinely feel like family. My daughter waits by the front door with her ziplock bag in-hand every day because she is SO excited to go. As a working mom, I can't express the value of knowing she is somewhere comfortable and safe, especially during these uncertain times. They make crafts, explore outside, and cultivate a love a music that has had her dancing since the first week! My fridge is full of her art, and my heart is full knowing the Academy is such a wonderful place. I can't recommend it enough! read more

I have been sending my two kids here for the past year, and have had a very positive experience. We came to this daycare first because they offered bussing to and from the West Warwick elementary schools, which was very important as both my husband and I work full time. Last year we had my daughter attend the kindergarten program they had, and I am SO glad I did. She LOVED school, and she learned alot, and was very prepared for first grade this year. I was a tad reluctant at first since the kindergarten program was a bit more expensive than a before and after school program, but I loved the small class size (7 kids). The teacher gave each child an enormous amount of attention and was able to tend to each child's individual needs. I was so sad when my daughter had to attend public school this year.. :-( my son also has been attending since he was 3 months old, and the teachers in each room have been great. Parents will be happy to know the turnover is very low from what I've seen so kids can form an attachment. I can honestly say that my kids are loved here. I am always told what is going on and how he's doing and if there are concerns. The classes are divided up by age more than other daycares, and each class is named after an animal. The safety is better than any other daycare I've been to, there's a fingerprint needed for access. There are tons of activities for families... . from yard sales to movie nights to picnics, and even date nights where you can leave your kids until 9pm! I love that I can bring both my toddler and elementary school child to the same place.. which is rare to find, and tuition is very competitive. Highly recommend. A+++++ read more

What an awful experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are in search of a new daycare and called Academy at the recommendation of someone who went there (several years ago). I asked for availability for 6 mos from now. I was told there was availability so I arranged a tour. I took off work as did my husband and we arrived timely. The place looks a little run down on the outside and the munlch in the kids play areas looked to be several years old. We were greated by Carolyn the director. She proceeded to tell us she wanted to make sure we knew she only had "fridays" available. Are You SERIOUS??? I took off work (time that I need to save for my maternity leave!) as did my husband to drive here to find out that although you told me you had availability you don't?? What terrible disrepect for people time and money. What terrible management of your books. I feel very disrepsected and angry at the awful management of this place. I told her I would have never arranged a tour if they couldn't take my child!! She didn't bother appologizing or anything either!!! At least I found out NOW before sending my child there that this place isn't ran very well. I can't imagine how other things run behind the scenes if they can't even read their own books and records. I had sent my daughter here for about 3 months before I had to pull her out and send her to another school. My poor daughter, 3 years old, was constantly bullied by the other children in the room. Every time I would pick my daughter up she would be upset and even bruised from the other kids picking on her. The poor teacher in the room was very sweet and tried their best to help and make my daughter feel comfortable but it was a losing battle. The teacher was all alone with 10 kids and no teachers aide. When I talked to the Director, she kept blaming the teacher or telling me that the aide was out that day. Get another aide!! The Director was also never there when I needed to speak to her, I would always have to wait for a callback or to speak to her in the morning (she usually wasn't there either). She would never apologize or try to work with me to make sure my daughter was safe or happy. I do not believe they treat their staff well and have actually heard from friends that they would not send their children there either. I should have listened to them from the start, but thankfully my child is happy and safe at another daycare that actually cares for her well being! read more
