I don't write many reviews. I take the time when I find an item or service that is above &…read morebeyond. That is true about Salem Laundry in Salem, NH. I've been going to this laundromat for the last six months on a weekly basis. It's always immaculate. The prices are reasonable. The machines are well kept and never have the smell of mildew. My clothes go home clean & smelling like my laundry detergent and not some funky smell (like at so many other laundromats). I usually go to the Salem Laundromat on the same day & time each week. I've been fortunate to become acquainted with the attendant, Chris, who is a big reason I'm such a fan of this business. He's attentive & kind to the customers especially the ones who need a little extra help which included me on my first time. Chris's presence also makes it a friendly place to be. Almost everyone who walks through the door says "Hi Chris" when entering. I appreciate Chris being there each week. At the laundromat I used previous to Salem Laundomat, the attendant practically growled when you entered. Or worse, going to a laundromat without an attendant, where it's messy & you see all kinds of unpleasant things going on. I've been using laundromats for over thirty years and Salem Laundry is the best!

More than that, the staff is super friendly and helpful. Case in point, today, which motivated me to write this. The staff turned what could have been a disaster into a pleasant experience! I had loaded a LOT of clothing in a 75 lbs. machine, and the machine ate two tokens ($2). Asked for help, and she couldn't get the tokens to work, and couldn't get the machine to cooperate with app pay. The other large washer didn't take app payments, and they don't carry money, so I could have been out $2 But no! The wonderful woman instead paid $2 for my drying! This whole time she was friendly and apologetic, sorry for how long it was taking, asking if I needed to go and offering to do my clothing for me if I had to go. I didn't have anywhere I needed to be so I staid, but she was just so nice. This place is great. If you don't have in-unit laundry, come here.

Met the owner of the laundromat when it first opened up and was explained how the machines worked…read more Staff was very friendly when they first opened and gradually became tired irritated attendees, which is understandable because the place is always so busy. The machines are great except for the drying machines that always seem to have gunk in them or are damaged because previous customers leave nails that get caught on to the machine. There's only a handful of folding tables but they're spacious. On warmer days they prop open the door that often times has a nice breeze and airs out the place but what I dislike about having the door open is when customers as well as the employees smoke right by the door while people are folding their clean laundry.
