When I count my Blessings...I count this business twice of this "pick up/drop off " service. A recent back injury and residing on the second floor with no elevator made schlepping to the laundry mat impossible. Lisa and the folks there returned my laundry clean and folded perfectly. After checking yelp for a laundry location while I vacation I decided to come here because it was listed as accepting Apple Pay. This may be technically true when the window is open but upon arrival, I found that the window was closed and washers and driers only accept quarters and while there is a change machine, it only accepts cash. I was very disappointed that I had to go to Market Basket and use the ATM for an extra $2.75. I hoped to get some work done while waiting for my wash, but the only tables are the folding tables and only chairs are fixed, making it difficult to work on a laptop on the folding table (because of height) or the chairs (because of their immovable nature). Location was clean and location convenient. Just wished that I had known I needed change in advance. read more

Being a single mom and with the economy being what it is, I shopped around a little before going to Port City Laundry for my pick up and drop off services. The first time I used them, I was unexpectedly charged $160 because they upcharge $10+ for each blanket (even if it's a tiny light-weight throw) on top of charging by the pound. Luckily Frank was kind enough to issue me a partial credit in order to keep my business. The second time I used them I received back several damaged items, for which I was told, normal wear and tear and they would do nothing the remedy the issue. Two items were bras that had the hooks bent so they were no longer hooks, I had to fix them myself with pliers and now they don't hook properly anymore. The other item was a brand new custom ordered embroidered sweatshirt with my company name on it, for which I provided a receipt showing that it was brand new and that it had only been delivered to me a week prior. They claimed it was normal wear and tear. Completely unacceptable. If you have anything that could get caught, zippers, bra hooks, anything of value... BEWARE! ***Update. I have been using this laundry service for two years. It is great! They pick up your laundry promptly on Monday morning ( after sending a on the way text) and return it washed, dried and folded, Wednesday morning. The laundry is well cleaned and carefully folded. I had initially dropped off and picked up my laundry. Again a quick two day turn around. The facility is very clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The price for the laundry service is more than reasonable. I highly recommend Port City Laundry. read more

Back when I lived in Newbury this was my Laundry place of choice. This is why: -It was cheap -They have a bigass industrial washer. I'm a male and I'm lazy, I don't do that "separating whites and colors stuff." I also refuse to do laundry until I'm reduced to wearing a burlap sack. This thing could do a month's worth of laundry in 20 minutes, and it was awesome. -Most importantly, customer service. The lady that owns this is the nicest woman in the world. She was always there and really great to talk to. She helped me out with any sort of laundry-related issues I had (like cleaning my leather scalley cap, or washing ties without destroying them). She loves her customers and her business and will do anything to help out anybody. Unfortunately I don't live there anymore so I don't go, but they offer a wash/dry/fold service and I had 30 sweaty rugby jerseys that needed to be cleaned on a short timeline. She took care of everything for me and folded them up and packaged sealed them up in a plastic bag and all my players though I bought them new jerseys. Awesome stuff! The fact that I'm writing a review about a Laundromat (as opposed to something I just ate) should be a testimate to how great this place is. If you live in the area, check it out. read more

Great location, clean, plenty of efficient machines. Our household machine had broke and laundry had piled up way up with having 2 babies at home and four adults. I took up 7 large capacity machines(4.75-$5.25) with bedding, towels 'n such, my daughter 3 smaller machines($3.00). It was nice to get all that laundry done at once and to walk about the stores while the wash 'n drying went on. Dryers were 25cents per 5mins - we went with 40-45mins on high. Beware High on the dryers are HIGH!! I had one of those soft fluffy throws from Restoration Hardware and it scortched it a bit. I've not been to a laundrymat in a while so cannot compare pricing but when all was said and done, I'd spent $48 and my daughter $13.50... that amount of money was overwhelming but I'm told falls par to what machines cost at these places now adays. read more

When our washer machine broke, I searched a few laundry places and was very disappointed. Until I found Port City Laundry. The place was very clean and organized. There were many different size washers ( newer models) to suit every need. The woman who worked there was very sweet and helpful. I love the pickup and delivery service! Always on time, sparkling clean, and folded to perfection. Frank took the time to explain that any special instructions are attached to your account and follow the order through the process. My standing instructions are cool wash, warm dry, and I haven't noticed any shrinkage over the last couple of months I've been using them. I like to use my own detergent, which they store for me on site. All in all, Port City is a great laundry, and pickup and delivery are the icing on the cake. read more

This place is amazing!! I was going to a different laundromat but once I kicked up to working over 70 hours a week I found Port City's delivery service, and I am truly blown away! I leave my laundry out on Monday morning, and on Thursday I get home to a very well folded clean back of laundry. The way they wrap it is fantastic, stay in a perfect pile. Life changing service! I have been utilizing the home pick up & drop off laundry service for just under a year, and have also utilized the drop off in store laundry service. As a busy Mom working full time, I cannot express the relief that this service has given us. Our laundry is washed, dried, folded/hung, and delivered smelling wonderful straight to our door. And they are honest people, I know someone who forgot $50 in their pants and they gave it back without hesitation ( he didn't know it was in there, he never would of missed it) plus... This is a wonderful laundromat, very clean and very friendly! Taking advantage of the fall "2 comforters for the price of 1" offer, I took two comforters to Port City Laundry to be cleaned today. One of the comforters was covered with some sort of greasy stains that I had been unable to remove myself. I pointed the stains out to the owner when I dropped them off this morning, and asked her to see if she could give them some special treatment. Just picked them up now and there is absolutely NO trace of any grease on the stained comforter. She would not accept extra payment for the extra work. "That's part of the job." When the washers decided to stop working in the building where I live, its nice to know there is somewhere close by that I can go and get EVERYTHING done.
