I have heard in other studios. The yoga studio was built to match the style of the beautiful Victorian mansion on the street. There's a cafe attached to the studio with the most amazing chai. The studio is in a residential neighborhood but there is lots of off-street parking. Steamy Buddha is an unexpected gem to be found in Downeast Maine.

If you're looking for a hot yoga class, this studio definitely delivers. They offer a variety of hot yoga classes in their lovely studio. They have showers and changing room on site. Also, they have plenty of off street parking. I've only taken the Deep Vinyasa 90 minute class here but it's so good I've been coming back every Sunday to take it. It's the perfect combination of heat, challenging poses, deep stretches, and guided breathing exercises. Natasha is the regular teacher for this class and she is an amazing teacher. Highly highly recommend if you are new to yoga or an experienced yogi.

The light blue pole building is as unassuming as most Crossfit boxes are. What makes this place special are the people who enter its doors. Owners Nick and Ursula both welcomed me, a travelling stranger, as warmly as all their local athletes. Both have a heart for Crossfit - both in the mechanics of doing tough workouts well and in building the sense of community that can really set this style of fitness apart from almost all others. Crossfit is tough. Sometimes very tough. To quote Crossfit Manayunk's video (search it on youtube): "sometimes you will give 110% and it just won't be enough". I have no doubt that at this box the trainers would be right there with you. Nobody is left to flounder here. I've never had a bad visit to a box but I can honestly say that my exploration of Crossfit Acadia was one of the best. The physical establishment is appealing (how do they fit so many Concept 2 rowers in that small space?), the coaches skilled and the customer/athletes friendly and welcoming. Humans of any fitness level can benefit from Crossfit and if you are fortunate enough to live within driving distance of this affiliate - I highly recommend you consider stopping by. Chaotic from start to finish…read more The rental process alone should have been our warning sign. Their online cutoff is 2pm the day before, which means you have to call-fine, except the woman who answered never called us back. We had to chase her down twice just to confirm a reservation. We arrived at 12:50 for a 1pm pickup and stood there watching the one staff member slowly process an entire family who was renting bikes for the next day on our time. The guy who eventually got us our bikes moved like he was underwater. Directions? He handed us a map that would challenge a cartographer and told us to "turn at the thing that blinks." That was the landmark. The blinking thing. We missed a turn. My husband's bike was mechanically broken. He came back with mud splattered across his backpack, shorts, and hair. And the e-bikes if you've rented an e-bike anywhere else in your life, do not expect that here. These things have less power than a child's ride-on toy. I'm not exaggerating. There is no assist. There is no joy. Unprofessional, disorganized, and a complete waste of a half day in a place where you have limited time and actually want to have fun. Skip it.

High-end Cervelo carbon fiber bikes with electronic shifting, perfectly tuned, spotless and ready to roll. A mechanic cheerfully popped on the SPD pedals we brought with us, and we were off, departing from BHBS for the park. We felt like we lived on those bikes for three days. We popped by the shop on the third morning for fresh shifter batteries and a tire top-off. Return was effortless and gave us a chance to browse the well-merchandised shop. We also had an enjoyable chat with owner Peter who definitely knows what he's talking about when it comes to cycling.

We…read morehad taken the ferry over from bar harbor and walked the 15 minutes to the shop instead of taking the free shuttle. The bikes are not delivered to the ferry but that was not a problem. The bike route is full of incredible views. We stopped frequently to take pictures. There was not much traffic. If you take the bike path across the peninsula, be aware that it is a heavy gravel path with some steep winding curves and downhills. Even as experienced cyclists, we decided to walk that part. There are 2 restaurants on the loop but unfortunately both were closed on Mondays. However we found another restaurant once we returned the bikes. It was a great day.
