We had so much fun paddle boarding on Little Long Lake with our guide, Nell. She was super patient with our 9 and 13 year old girls. She gave us a super informative lesson prior to getting in the water and then more instruction once we got in (but not so much we got bored!). We played games on the water, did a little yoga and practiced some tricks. We had a fabulous time and would recommend for anyone visiting! read more

Rented 2 paddleboards for the day from here. Very easy process, they helped me load them into the car and my wife and I easily took both boards off at Echo Lake. Beautiful day and great time going for a ride and enjoying the lake. Brought the boards back, they helped unload--all in all loading/unloading/signing waivers took 10 minutes, couldn't be any easier or happy with the process and the boards. Very fun and relaxing, I would highly recommend. We got a groupon for 2 boards for the full day for the price of 1 board for 1/2 day! read more

Buyer beware. We were charged the full fee even though we didn't take the tour and called in advance to cancel. When I discovered a problem with our reservation, that a lake tour had been reserved instead of ocean, I immediately called the office. As it was a problem with the reservation service, we shouldn't have been charged. I've asked for the charges to be removed, but the owner refuses to remove it and I am disputing with my credit card company. What was supposed to be a fun and relaxing activity became incredibly stressful due to an unpleasant call with the owner regarding the charges. I truly question the legitimacy of the other reviews. Updated response to the owner: Please stop stalking me on the internet. This has become a personal vendetta to you and it's getting scary. I'm sure that I am not alone in being very busy and valuing how I spend my time and money on vacation. Based on your responses it's clear you have this problem with other customers and I would like to constructively suggest that you consider revising your business practices. As an unsatisfied customer I have every right to share my experience and be dissatisfied with how you've handled this situation. Fielding repeated phone calls from you during my vacation was incredibly stressful as is this continued harrassment. read more

Can not recommend this place enough. We did the two hour session on the bay and it was an unreal experience. This is great for people who have never been paddle boarding before as well as for people who are seasoned pros. The price point is awesome as well. You can't beat it. Amazing experience. We were first time attempting SUP and the instructor was very patience. His technique was easy to understand. We were able to stand up on the board 20 minutes into the session. I had never been paddleboarding and wanted to give it a try. We made an online reservation and met Chris on the bar out to Bar Island for an ocean lesson. We had considered renting paddleboards without the lesson, however we were definitely pleased with the lesson experience. Paddleboarding is not complicated, but it was very helpful to get a basic orientation and learn a few tricks. Chris is very knowledgeable and friendly. Equipment (including paddleboards, paddles, lifejackets and wet suits) was in excellent condition. Great experience, and paddleboarding is a fun way to get out on the ocean (or lake). read more

My fiancee and I were interested to take an SUP lesson and happened upon Chris of Acadia SUP in Bar Harbor, ME. While it is a small outfit, they have a great on-line reservation tool that allowed us to select a time and place that worked for us. We were given the choice of a lesson on the ocean or in a lake and chose the lake option. Chris met us at the lesson location, which was a great help. Chris is a knowlegable instructor and starts out the lesson with the basics. We were rippin gacross the lake in no time and even doing some tricks by the end of our lesson! We were instructed on the proper standing posture and proper paddle strokes to really get some movement on the board. It was a great experience and we enjoyed our experience. Our first time stand-up paddle boarding was an awesome time! We did the 2 hour private lesson at sunset on the ocean. Our guide Chris took the time to teach us and get to know us. He was knowledgeable about the area and informative about SUPs. The sun doesn't fully set while you are out there but it is definitely worth it. Also, we never fell in! read more

A group of us had a lesson bright and early on July 5th. Despite being a bit hungover, we had a GREAT time. The wet suits were a struggle, but being able to jump into the water was great. Chris, the top man in charge, is just wonderful. Professional, accommodating, kind and simply a "stand-up" guy! I took my first lesson last year and had a blast. I liked it so much I rented my own board for a week. Well I am back again this year and rented ahead of time once more for a week. Each time I get out there on the board and begin to paddle it is as if I am standing on water. There is nothing quite like it. A good workout too, if you use your quads and core you will feel great. Today it is raining and Im considering going out and paddling around but sitting on the board for a first time, in case of rough waters. Anyway this is supposed to be about Acadia Stand Up in Bar Harbor. Well the bottom line? There is just no other reason to go anywhere else!
