At first diagnosis was the electrical phases of the water heater but ended up being an under slab hot water line leak. The lady was a little short on the phone but I just ignored her, however the boss was a super nice and very easy to deal with, his son came out the next day called ahead of time, was also very kind, and so was the other worker. I paid them, they finished the job in less than an hour, now they're on their way to their next job. I got the services that I needed...perfect! Why can't everybody else be like this. Yesterday was the first time I've needed a plumber since moving to New Orleans, so of course it was time to stress about finding someone dependable and reasonable. Fortunately, Acadian put my worries to rest. I called the office number late in the afternoon. After 4 or 5 rings (on no, this isn't good) a man answered and explained that the office was closed, but he was the owner on his way home. He listened to my problem and said that the next day's schedule was pretty full, but he'd try to work me in. When I called the office this morning, the owner answered, remembered me, and said "You're on the schedule for today." Only three hours later, two nice dog-loving guys arrived and fixed my toilet right away, explaining that the hard water here wreaks havoc with plumbing fittings. The price was more than my sweet, independent plumber in Kansas City, and I might have been able to fix it myself with YouTube. My name is Jimmie, I requested a certified plumber to help get my father's gas meter back from the city. Within an hour I spoke with Eric from Canadian Plumbing and the 2 days later Eric was at my father's house pressure testing the gas system. Our kitchen sink drain was clogged and we tried everything we could, including snaking it ourselves. The blockage was too hard to break through. Called Acadian and explained issue to the dispatcher. I asked if they would bring out what was necessary to unclog it. I was assured they would. Tech arrives on time with only a snake in his hand. I asked if that is all he has to unclog it. He replied that, yes, that is all they have. I told him I didn't think it would work since I had already tried it. He said "If you don't want me to try, I won't, but it will be $125 for service call and I'll leave now". My options now are to pay $125 for nothing, or $325 for what I don't think will work anyway. I went ahead with the $325 and said "Maybe you know how to snake a drain better than I do". Well, he did not. He was just as unsuccessful as I was. He then went on to say that Acadian cannot fix the clog and I need to call another plumber. He then wrote the name of the guy who he thinks can fix it and his number on my ticket. I paid him the $325 as I agreed and he left. I did NOT call his recommended plumber but instead called Sturt Services who came out and fixed the issue within an hour with their snake, which is much better than the ones Acadian owns, obviously! I will never call this company out again, and why would you when they just charge you to give you a referral of someone else. I purchased a bidet toilet seat from Amazon, and did a self install and noticed a leak. It was pretty late, so I turned off the water to the toilet and waited until the next morning to call Acadian. The lady who answered the phone was really friendly, and said she could have someone come out between 9 AM and noon that day. I was really surprised they could make it the same day. Woody gave me a call at around 8:20 and was at my home 20 minutes later, masked up and ready to go. The toilet was leaking because the original threading was old on the inside of the toilet tank, so he replaced that, and now I don't have to hold down the toilet flusher the entire time the toilet flushes. Had a leaky faucet/pipe in my bathroom. Called another plumber, their estimate was $900 because it would be a 4 hour job. On top of that, they wouldn't be able to fix the leak till the next day. The next day came, but the plumber did not. Today I called Acadian at 8 AM. I was a bit worried because they charge for their estimate. 10 AM rolls around, the leak is fixed (they even had to drive to get a part), they cleaned up their work, most importantly the total bill was only $240. The young woman i spoke to was very pleasant but unsure whether or not the owner serviced mobile homes. I asked that someone let me know whether or not they did. I waited and finally called back four hours later and was told by someone other than I spoke to ( possibly the owner) originally that he did not have my phone number but did have my address. Waisted four hours when I could have been searching for a plumber who was willing to help. Fortunately Richie's Plumbing not only set an appointment for the next day but fit the repair in on the same day I called. We were using bottled water for 5 days as we turned off the water when the leak was detected and i let them know this on first call. I certainly gave my phone number to the pleasant young woman who answered the phone when I first called and it's my belief she passed that along to the owner and he didn't feel the need to show me the courtesy of a return call.
