My friend and I had a great time partying here during our trip to Gran Canaria! We were a bit wary…read moreat first due to some poor reviews on TripAdvisor and etc but we took the leap and went here starting at the middle of the week. Like most clubs, it doesn't really pick up until 11:30pm-midnight, and even at its peak hours on the weekend there was still room to breathe. My fellow traveler and I (both young women) got in without having to pay anything or show identification for drinks, so ignore all of the club touts at the shopping center who will try to sell you "party passes". You can literally walk into any club in Gran Canaria for free. As with most establishments, drinks are overpriced (unless someone buys them for you) and the bathrooms are acceptable. A bottle of local beer was about 5 euros and a tequila sunrise was 7. A soda was about 3 euros. The music here is a fun mix of traditional Top 40 pop, throwback remixes, and Hispanic music. It was very fun to dance to! This is a given, but always travel with a group or at least another person you trust. There's quite a few creeps loitering outside of the clubs. All in all, we really enjoyed going to Pacha and returned every night for the rest of our trip after stopping at ChinaWhite or Dolce. The courtyard out front also has some private seating and hookah if you're into that too :)

I don't think we've ever visited a more stunning resort. The Ritz redefines luxury and sets a new standard for what a resort should be. From the moment we arrived -- where we were welcomed by name at the gate -- we were treated like royalty. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel special every moment. It's the attention to detail: twice-daily housekeeping, swift room service and concierge responses, their own locally sourced water bottle, the car valet guys also being on top of it... the list goes on. The property is simply breathtaking. There are several pools, including an adults-only one, multiple restaurants (including a Michelin-starred option), stunning ocean views, a breakfast that outshines any hotel we've ever stayed at, and even a private beach, where guests are taken down via the hotel's cable car. Every corner of the resort exuded luxury. We mentioned we were getting married during our stay, not expecting much, but the staff went above and beyond to make our special day even better. From balloons and desserts delivered to our room to coming back from the ceremony and finding "I love you" spelled out in rose petals on our bed -- the service was on another level. Thank you, Abama staff, for making our stay unforgettable. We can't wait to return!

The staff was universally helpful and friendly. The grounds were immaculate and we loved the private feel of the beach, even though it was a public beach. We tried almost all of the restaurants, and never had a bad meal. We appreciated the breakfast, which was included, and the focus on local fruits and produce. We would love to revisit this resort.
The color and architecture of the hotel offered a stunning contrast to the sky and sea.

We were desperately looking for an open restaurant for lunch. The Spanish take their siestas…read moreseriously! Ritz was about the only place open at 2 pm. Ritz Cafe is a casual outdoor restaurant that mainly serves bar food, burgers and fries. It also has some "exotic" dinner entrees like Buffalo, Zebra and Ostrich Sirloins. Plus Fried Python and Fried Crocodile Tacos. We took the less adventurous menu. Hugo D had a decent Club Sandwich and I had a decent Deluxe Burger that included yummy goat cheese. We also both had French fries. I've found that Spanish and Dutch (and maybe other Europeans) prefer mayonnaise as their fries condiment. Or sometimes ketchup. Personally I like spicy mustard but they didn't have mustard. Ritz Cafe is ok for lunch, but I'm sure the focus and where it really makes money is nighttime as a crowded bar in the middle of Yumbo's gay nightlife.

They just opened a couple of months ago and they are quite exclusive. They do belong (partly) to the 5* Lopesan Hotel they are adjacent to, but operate quite independently. They have 2 massive cocktail bars opposite ends of the place. The front end is a beach clubby kind a set up. White comfy sofa's and funky chairs under sail like canvas. Further into the back you get the dining tables. We were seated just right besides the waterfall; which does its thing every hour. As it was a little time after sunset we got to sit besides a patio heater, nice. The food was OK, I have had better, but I certainly had worse as well. The service was hit and miss, but all this I put down to teething problems. As the location is fab and the prices very reasonable. Definitely worth a visit.
