She returned my call in just a short time, and she answered all my questions and concerns and was so very patient with me! (Thank you Lisa!!) of course I was running late and was so embarrassed but again Lisa to the rescue! :) A few pages of paper work and signatures and a payment of $103 (with card)OR $100 (cash) ... was ready to meet the Dr.! And again, another awesome experience! The wait wasn't long either! The Dr. made me feel so comfortable and really listened to what I had to say, and acknowledged it. Which I really appreciate! Most Dr.'s don't listen past your third word! So it was refreshing knowing that I was being heard! It makes a huge difference! Thank you deland medical wellness center!!

The same ER doctor kept misdiagnosing me. She should lose her license!!! I have acute ulcerative colitis and have been hemorrhaging for three months. I was admitted and they had me sitting in the hospital for four weeks without trying any drugs because they didn't know how to get around my allergies. I had to beg them to transfer me to Tampa General. Witch had me tested thoroughly and on medication and on my way home within four days. Because of that awful ER doctor at Advent in Deland, My condition got much much worse. She got to the point she was dismissing me when I came into the emergency room. Literally hemorrhaging and insisted it was sigmoid diverticulitis. I have had diverticulitis for 20 years and know the difference and exactly what it feels like. This doctor does not listen to you whatsoever. When I was admitted, certain nurses did not wear gloves or sanitize, which caused me to contract Cdiff and Flu A. My IV was also inserted incorrectly, which caused my arm to fill up with glucose and was extremely painful. The nurse said,"oh it's no big deal. It can't hurt that bad." Several times on different days they forgot to send up my breakfast or lunch tray because I'm on a restricted diet so I went without eating. When they did send me up chicken broth it was like grease water. Absolutely disgusting. I cannot stress enough on what a bad experience I've had here. After I was released, I was given a referral to a gastroenterologist located right next-door. They canceled my appointment less than 24 hours beforehand. I am on a specialty drug which a Gastro doctor is only allowed to prescribe.. so now I am stuck with no physician. All the staff said is oh well we're shorthanded .Horribly unprofessional. Advent used to be the top hospital in the area. They have room for tremendous amounts of improvement.
