Summary: Don't buy any of the meal/drink packages - instead, buy the boat ticket on its own, and grab a bottle of wine on board to drink on the top deck with a smaller group of friends. Eat beforehand or after the cruise. Bought the$44 "wine and gourmet cheese cruise" through LivingSocial and was quite disappointed with the advertised vs. actual experience. Getting on was easy enough; however, we rushed to make the 6pm "boarding time" even though the boat didn't actually end up departing until after 7. It wasn't great to be sitting in the harbour for that long, though I understand why they might want to avoid latecomers. The boat itself was o-k. Didn't smell great and the layout was cramped. Upstairs on the deck was much nicer; spacious and lots of seating available (although some of those seats needed a good clean to get rid of what the birds had left behind). Our "wine and cheese" selection consisted of 7 "mystery wines" that we had to go up and retrieve ourselves. Tasters were a bit shy of the 2oz mark. the term "gourmet cheese" should be used very lightly, as ours consisted of a few slices of crostini and a selection of 5 different hard cheeses, in cubes. Perhaps my expectations are high, but cubes of mozarella/cheddar/havarti/gouda/swiss (most of which seemed old) does not a gourmet cheese platter make. The host is a bit eccentric, though pleasant enough. Service was very very slow, seemed inexperienced, and the self-service bar and bartender weren't much better. Prices were steep - $7 for a can of granville island beer, and wine at about the same markup. Now for the good: Our cruise took a 180 for the better when we went to the upper deck (which was empty at the time) and sat at a table up there. The boat goes at a speed where the wind is barely noticeable, and the views from false creek/north shore waters were beautiful. The weather was gorgeous (something we lucked out with) and it was quiet and open and lovely to sit up top. Would definitely do this again, but perhaps with a different company and without the wine/cheese package. read more

We bought 10 tickets for the Carol Ship dinner cruise for a nice evening with family and friends, and I have to say that everyone was disappointed with the entire cruise. The Boat. The "Burrard Queen" was once a ferry, which still sounds, and looks like one. The very noisy engine made it difficult to have a conversation, and it just overall looked cheap and poorly cared for. Definitely not where you want to spend an evening in. The decorations were tacky and just gave the entire evening a bad vibe. Tip: Upgrade the boat, and spend a little more time making the environment welcoming and classy, where people feel like your tour is a treat. The Food. Decent food, but for $75 per person, it is soooo not worth it. Very basic even though on the website they make it sound elaborate. The Caesar salad and another green salad can be bought in a bag at Superstore, and the overall presentation of everything was unappetizing. It was clear that they were trying to cut costs wayyy down. Tip: Give a larger selection of GOOD food, and present the food better, and invest in nicer, updated plates, cutlery etc. The Service. Non-existant. Although the staff worked hard, it is clear that the owners of Accent cruises does not care about the customer experience. There was terrible christmas music on (Alvin and the Chipmunks, c'mon guys!) and barely a sing-along at the end. It was the cruise guests, singing awkwardly while the servers chose the songs. Very unsatisfying experience. Tip: Get a new owner who cares. My recommendation: DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. read more

My favourite part of this cruise- the good weather and the view of False Creek/surroundings. Unfortunately, Accent Cruises had nothing to do with both those factors. I bought the 'champagne cruise' as a gift and I didn't go searching for it, I saw an ad online for a promotional deal. I don't actually remember how much I paid, but I believe it was over $60 and on top of that there's taxes and gratuities. Anyway, you won't get value for your money here. The boat was very dated. You go below deck (looks like grandma's basement) to get your food from the 'buffet' (cold cuts, buns, some fruit, coffee). The food wasn't bad. But, I was hungry. The best part of the cruise was sitting up on the top deck. The 'champagne' part of the champagne cruise was actually a mimosa. Grumble grumble. I'm gonna stop now. And it would've been nice if we hugged the coastline a little and went under the Lions Gate Bridge for a little bit of 'interesting' scenery. We were on a slow crawl to nowhere. Ok, I lied. Extremely unpleasant experience with Accent Cruises so far, a company with extremely bad security policies that took a credit card payment from me, and compromised my card by sending the details through unsecured email. The worst part is their lack of response, it took two emails to even get a response, no confirmation of any action, not even an apology for the inconvenience of having to cancel my credit card and the hassle of updating all of the billing details. I would not recommend anyone dealing with this company, watch out for identity theft if you do! Wish I had read the reviews on yelp before booking, looks even the cruise experience for the deals that they sell is nothing to be looking forward to. Only giving them benefit of the doubt with two stars because I haven't taken the cruise yet, let's hope that's not a complete disappointment. read more

We got a groupon for this place. Food was really bad. Service wasn't great as I had to get up a few times to get a drink. Fake flowers and rusty windows. Crappy club music pumping through the speakers. My wife and I dressed nice not realizing what we were getting into...we saw a couple people wearing sweatpants. I felt ripped off! Did this cruise 3 years ago and it was much better. Now, the boat barely left the harbour then just idled around English Bay and False Creek. Beer and Wine tasting was a joke. Tiny little glasses of wine (or beer same tiny amount as the wine). Charged extra $17 tax and gratuity. They combined the dinner cruise with the wine tasting cruise. No food available to the wine/beer tasters, unless you pay $25 extra to get access to the same buffet the dinner cruise people are having. They gave us a sheet of paper indicating general wine and cheese pairings (not even for the same wines we tasted, which were mediocre at best), but did not even have any cheese or any little nibbles of food available. So disappointed. Never again. Don't waste your money... Even with the groupon it's not worth it. Might as well just ride the Aquabus around and save your money. read more

The boat we were on was the oldest of the fleet and showed its age onboard. This wasn't a problem, but the lack of space on board was ridiculous as we had to ask the next table to kindly move their tables back so that we could pull out our chairs from under the table far enough to sit down. We are slim but could not even step into our seats. The table was low and small, so flimsy, that a slight bump sent cups wobbling violently. The main event was called the parade of lights, but the most lights we saw were before we boarded the cruise ship. Most of the trip consisted of pure darkness outside, and even included an hour of horrendous yelling from other guests in a contest for a $7 bottle of wine. Speaking of the wine, the $7 bottle from BC Liquor retailed for $35 on board the ship; not even the finest restaurants have this ridiculous of a markup. This didn't even include gratuity for the apparent lack of service, which Accent Cruises had already collected prior to boarding, but which the onboard waitress insisted was extra. It was truly eye opening how a business could be so caught on making money and being deceiving to its customers. In conclusion, I would hope that management revamp their approach and treat customers with respect as a normal business would, and not rely on making quick cash off of one time groupon customers who will not return due to a horrendous experience. read more

Yikes, very unclean, slow service, uninterested staff, strange vibe from captain and friends. I suggest maybe just going on the cruise without food or tables. Once you get away from the inside the views are lvoely on the outside. There was one great server there, she was new and helpful. Also they do not have a discount for children?? Really??? You have to take a clipboard up and get each tiny portion of economy wine ticked off, presumably to ensure that you are not taking too much!. Tiny squares of (mediocre) cheese. No plates, no fruit. I went on a dinner cruise with my grandmother. The food was great, there was a great atmosphere, and great views! We had an awesome time.

Wife and I took the sunset cruise recently, we were both looking forward to it, but were totally disappointed. The boat itself was not very pleasing, plastic chairs scattered on the deck etc. Paid crazy price for cheap wine (by the glass). The 3-hour cruise was a 2 and quarter hours straight roll-out on the water, stalled for another 10 to 15 minutes and then straight back. The staff did not set up dinner table for us - we were informed that since we had not paid for dinner (which we did when we booked), after a few minutes of discussion, they scrambled to find us silverware etc. no apologies what so ever. The dinner was another disappointment $63 for 2 - cafeteria food. Not even close to being worth the price. The chef (more like a deck- hand with an apron) doled out mean portions of dried-up pink fish and a piece of chicken in Teriyaki sauce and potatoes. If not for the wonderful scenic beaches and other scenery, the whole experience is not worth it. Disappointed. read more

I recently went on a Dinner cruise with a group of my friends. Both young and old. I must tell you that the staff were so friendly and helpful. They even had mandarin speaking servers which really helped my friends. The chicken and salmon buffet was really great. We were lucky to go on a really nice night and took many great photographs. I would suggest this company and their service to anyone. I got my coupons from Vantosave and feel it was terrific value. read more

We had our wedding on one of your boats on October 26-2013. I just wanted to let you know how wonderful our wedding was. After reading some reviews online I was a little sceptical on how our wedding would turn out, but it turned out to be for nothing. We went with the medium size boat (Carousel II I believe) and had 43 guest. Our wedding was beyond fantastic I can not say enough wonderful things about the venue. The staff was amazing they were more than helpful, professional and friendly, the food was to die for, everyone absolutely loved the dinner (we had roast beef and salmon). The cruise itself was beautiful we lucked out on the weather, it was a windy day so we stayed in the inlet which was fine with us. The boat was beautifully decorated, we had brought some of our own decorations but to tell the truth we didn't really need them. I highly recommend the seat covers and table runners as it looked so formal and for the price it was defiantly worth it. Some of us where aloud on the boat before hand and I (the bride) had the upstairs to myself to hideout before the wedding which was nice. There was plenty of alcohol and we bought a hundred or so drink tickets in advance for everyone and had pre arranged for wine on all the tables so everyone was pretty much covered. I had brought my own wedding music and we hooked it up to your sound system and everyone had a blast dancing the night away. We had such a great time, the wedding photographer said it was the best wedding he has done, and the guest are still saying how great it was. Aug. 27th was our much anticipated cruise and dinner night. We spent the first few hours running all over trying to find a place to park for more than 3 hours. Everything full and no proper information given at time of booking. I was told there was ample pay parking. Not so. Boarded the boat and were assigned a table. Went up to the top deck. Waiting for someone to let us know when dinner was served. Purchased a much overpriced drink while waiting. Finally a girl tells us that dinner is almost finished serving. Down we went. Cold vegetables, over cooked and luke warm salmon, chicken more like leather, stale bread, way overcooked nugget potatoes. No cesear salad left! What a huge disappointment. I purchased 4 tickets for this?? The scenery was beautiful. The staff not bad but not great. We expected to enjoy a wonderfully relaxing dinner and enjoy the cruise. Not at all. I sure do not recomment this to anyone. I guess this is why we saw some folks bring their own food on board. Now we know. Spoke with 3 couples from out of town and they were all complaining. Not a nice way to show off our beautiful city. read more

The second star is given purely for the hilarity of the experience and the fact the boat cruises by Engelbert Humperdinck's previous home in West Van. We had the Living Social voucher so we didn't pay the full $100 per person for the Wine Flights cruise- I pity the foo and the few tourists that did, however. The 'paired hot and cold appetizers' promised consisted largely of frozen sausage rolls you can buy at Superstore with some sweaty-looking cheese, dry baguettes and a few grapes, with 8 small 2 oz glasses of wine from bottles covered in stained bottle sleeves that look like old tube socks from a college students dorm room. The fellow at the reception check-in area was not so friendly (admittedly, I only printed off my receipt and not the voucher- my bad), and it was not terribly clear (nor stated anywhere at all that I could find) that you had to confirm at least 72 hours before the date you bought your voucher for, so when I called Friday morning to confirm for the date I had originally bought it for was sold out. The staff, however, were very nice, friendly and attentive. Overall, if the regular price for this was $40, you could excuse the quality, but it's pretty ballsy to charge someone $100 for what you get. We enjoyed ourselves because we had already paid for it, but I would really not advise anyone from Vancouver to take out-of-town visitors for an evening out, as you could have a much nicer 'Vancouver' experience for $100 per person. read more
