When doing my research, I brought all the paperwork for my current coverage in order to compare apples to apples. I learned a lot about insurance through this experience and am very happy with the outcome. I found that one key factor in researching renters insurance is to know whether your lost property will be replaced at current cash value or full replacement. Go for the replacement. Finally, if you're a renter and don't have insurance, definitely look into it. It's not wise to rent without it.
