Went in to rent a one man auger from Independent Rental and all they had was the tow behind so i…read morepaid and reserved it. Towing the Auger to North Pole going 45 miles on the highway is an unsafe option so brought in my 5x10 trailer to strap it down, this trailer was bought at Lowes brand new this year. Their maintenance person said he can't let it go on the trailer strapped down it is meant to be towed, that was all the reasoning he said. He didn't understand that towing to North Pole at 45 miles an hour is also unsafe and if you go faster than 45 miles the tow behind auger will flip. So, i ended up walking out after i paid for the reservation the night before, i did have them refund the money but it will take a few days for the transaction to clear. Maybe if they explain how to get to North Pole going 45mph without hitting the highway or maybe if the front desk was on the same page as the maintenance person or asked him instead of waiting till day of pickup and the maintenance person not releasing this, very disappointing. I went to Home Depot to get the One-Man Auger that they had in stock and not the tow behind and did not give the run around very helpful. I will not recommend Independent Rental to anyone.

Well, there was only a couple others in there at 9:05 when I got there, and I was only waiting about 2 minutes. The woman helping me was quick and efficient and got right to helping me out. She even presented me options for registration which I didn't even know existed. I went with the shorter 13 month registration, as I won't be in town that long. The cost was $76, a $22 service charge over the DMV's standard price of $54. For me, the $22 to experience the sight of people actually MOVING WITH PURPOSE, no crying toddlers, no frownie faces all around, no dark, disgusting unorganized DMV. The whole process took about 7 minutes, and was just a pleasant and happy experience. I would highly recommend UMV. You can get most DMV services done here, for a small convenience fee. And, to be current, THEY DO TAKE CREDIT CARDS NOW. Disregard the other review from two years ago. Yay UMV!

When I asked why they didn't take cards the response was "we are are a small business and can't afford the fees". For a business that has 4 locations in both Anchorage and Fairbanks that's doing many transactions of over $100 that seems like a total load of crap. For a legitimate business to not take credit in 2016 when there are so many different options for card processing is completely ridiculous. This really put a bad taste in my mouth and made me feel like I was being nickel and dimed by them. I'm not sure I will be back.

They have always had palettes available for keeping stored items safe, off the ground and in good condition. I was late on a payment one month and afterwards I called to make the payment. The late fee was kindly waived because I paid for a few months of advance storage. I was late by eight days to clear out my shed on the last month that I wanted to discontinue storage use and (very generously) the fee was waived. I can't guarantee they do this for everyone (and they are certainly not obligated at all to do this for anyone else) but their kindness, patience and excellent customer service makes them well worth working with. I highly recommend Interior Mini Storage
