Their medical facilities and services are ok. But they use a third-party billing that files the claims wrong/don't file the claims and then come after you for paying. There is no way to contact that third-party billing, the only phone number they have on their website nobody every answers. READ THIS BEFORE YOU VISIT! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH HOSTILE STAFF AND UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE. I had a terrible experience at this clinic on 2/24/25. Around noon, I started feeling extremely sick--hot, nauseous, and constantly in and out of the bathroom. Since I don't get off work until 7:30 PM, I booked a 7:40 PM appointment, which was perfect. I arrived on time for my 7:40 PM appointment, but as soon as I walked in, the receptionist, Sunshine, was already giving me an attitude, rolling her eyes as she asked for my first and last name. When I provided it, she immediately asked for my insurance. I told her I had been to this clinic multiple times and should be in the system, but she refused to look me up. Instead, she falsely claimed my insurance was expired and kept pushing me to reschedule, despite me clearly feeling unwell. It got to the point where I didn't even care about using my insurance anymore--I was willing to pay out of pocket just to be seen. But then she claimed they couldn't take Apple Pay, and their card machine wasn't working, making it impossible for me to pay. At that point, it felt like she was doing everything she could to turn me away. You could tell she was possibly mad because she wanted to get out on time, which is completely unacceptable when working in healthcare. She continued to exchange rude comments, refused to help me, and even threatened to call law enforcement just because I insisted on being seen. At 7:52 PM--while I was still inside--she claimed they were closed, even though my appointment was at 7:40 PM and their posted hours say they close at 8:00 PM. After leaving, I had an anxiety attack and had to call 911. My mom arrived before the cops and rushed me to the ER, which ended up being a much more expensive visit that I was trying to avoid. At the ER, I was diagnosed with the flu and had a 103°F fever. I will never return to this clinic due to the way I was treated. They told me to walk in yesterday because there was only one person ahead of me. Got there and was told I couldn't be seen because they were understaffed and the call center doesn't know what is going on locally. I then made an appointment for today at 12:20. I realized before I left the parking lot I had a meeting so I went in to reschedule. She moved me to 1:40 today. I called the local number again (call center in AZ) to confirm the 1:40 appointment but was told they can't see the appointments online unless I scheduled online. So, I showed up at 1:30 and was told they only had the 12:20 appointment for me and it was cancelled. I would need to reschedule again if I wanted to be seen. I have always used Access Medical for all my medical needs BUT I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN, after today. I made an appointment for an employee wellness physical at the NW Expressway location in OKC, and after I stated my reason for the visit online, left work, and drove across town I was told they could not do my wellness physical. They only offer sports physicals and DOT physicals, but for whatever reason cannot offer the same service to ANYONE else even thought their website states they give employment physicals. I had 2 Rapid test appointments for covid screening, I call their "customer service" 1hour ahead and was told to go to one location...I was first one there at 8AM. They have a sign at the door that says to make appointment online, I did - next I get a text saying they are out of rapid tests. This happened in same order twice today, DO NOT Trust this place during covid, it's a shame their CS and online state they have rapids and you go to 2 places 20 miles apart to no avail, if this had 0 stars I would rate it as such. Second time I tried again months later (today) and they have their doors locked. We had just seen two patients waking out. But when we try to go in they won't let us in. Our state has a NO MANDATE rule for wearing masks. This clinic insists on you wearing a mask to walk into the door to ask a question that could have been answered if they would answer their phones. I can't wear a mask. I have a medical exemption that was given to me by THEM! I told them, but they insisted on me putting on a dangerous and potentially lethal mask. I just needed a Patient ID number to pay a bill online that would not take my payment without it. They don't answer the phones, they go straight to a call center. I was on hold over 38 minutes and another time for 43 minutes. They are uncaring. They are not professional. Two years ago w hen I saw them for what turned out to be COVID, they did not diagnose it correctly, and then tried to charge me for a follow up visit. Absolutely terrible. The staff was cold and unthorough. The doctor on duty was dismissive. When I was discharged, they didn't fully communicate what I would need to do upon leaving their office, which is the standard "Don't be around people for 24 to 48 hours and change your toothbrush after three days". I only know this because I'm extremely prone to strep and have heard this many times...but THEY didn't know I knew that. I was prescribed an antibiotic called Cefdinir for strep throat...a medication that, when you Google the side effects, lists dizziness as one of the common ones ("nausea, stomach pain, indigestion, vomiting, mild diarrhea, headache, DIZZINESS..."). I called back four days later after having to miss work because I was so dizzy I could barely walk across a room much less drive. I was told that I would be given a separate medication for vertigo because "[dizziness] was not a known side effect of Cefdinir". They had no idea that dizziness was a side effect. And when I told them this I was offered ZERO other options. It may be ignorant for me to assume they might simply switch me to a different antibiotic...but that seems like a reasonable idea. At Access that wasn't even considered. I will never be going there again and I'll be letting everyone I know to steer clear. read more

SO ANGRY!! Was at an Urgent Care (Access Medical) to get Steroid shot. Reason for Visit: Lupus flare issues. Receptionist: the PA doesn't really know about Lupus. Do you know what you need? Me: Absolutely! Receptionist: Great! She will see you shortly. PA comes in and asks what is going on. ME: I am having a Lupus flare. I am fatigued, in pain from head to toe, brain fog, and more. I can't even get to work. I need a Steroid shot to get me out of this episode. If possible, a B-12 would be great! PA: You just tell me the symptoms you have and I will decide on what you need. (In a snarky God complex tone) ME: OK. I have had this nearly 21 years, but my symptoms are... PA: I will give you Steroid pills, but not a shot. It works the same. Me (as respectful as possible): that isn't true. The shot works differently on me. I have pills at home and they are hard on me and are not working. Her: I looked at your chart and we gave you pills last time. Me: Look previous to that! This clinic has given me MANY Steroid shots. (It is easier to drive .5 mi for a shot vs. 75 miles to my primary of 25+ yrs) PA disagreed with me getting shots there previously and she refused to listen to me and left the room. She sent the aide in to give my my discharge papers with script of ORAL Steroids! Which I didn't want. WHY? I was VERY SPECIFIC! I know me and my body! And you just did whatever YOU wanted to do and didn't give a $#!+ about what I said. And NOW you want to make me pay for this BS? Really? THIS IS WHY I DONT REACH OUT FOR HELP! I just deal with it!!! Update: went to Mercy Convenient Care immediately afterwards and was treated with respect and she gave me a steroid shot that I really needed. My little ones have come here more than usual lately. Their pediatrician is always so booked, and this place is never busy. I always check-in online and get seen immediately when I arrive. Every time I've been here, it has not been no longer than an hour visit so, I'm pretty satisfied with their service. This clinic is clean, the staff are friendly, and I love how they always test for strep, because my boys seem to always test positive for it. Other places I have been to do not usually do that for us. Anyways, this is the best urgent care besides the other access medical center on the south side. This "Doc in a box" has a friendly staff and is close to the casa. I can walk in most any time of day if I have an ailment that I will actually seek medical attention for (which isn't often) Besides, getting in to see my general physician is like getting an invite to JayZ and Beyonce's house for dinner. It can happen, but I ain't waiting that long. I could really have a problem and I'm not doing the emergency room shuffle unless I have parts coming off and it looks like I walked in from the zombie apocalypse, ya dig? In a more normal scenario, if I'm dripping green mucous for days on end and the herbal tea, whole foods smoothies and neti pot don't knock it out- I can zip in to the AMC and get a script for something that will kill the snot and beneficial intestinal bacteria in a 5-7 day swoop. So my mom had a work related injury and was sent here. She works in a bakery. A metal large mixing bowl fell on the back of her head and she had a huge bump as a result, so obviously she was in a lot of pain. When we got here, I informed the receptionist this and she insisted that she needed to have her work comp info before my mom could be seen. I insisted to her that my mom was in a lot of pain and she shrugged me off and told me very rudely with no compassion "go to the er then". I should have walked out but was hopeful maybe she would change her mind and tell a doctor to take a look at my mom so I proceeded to fill out the paperwork so about 8 minutes passed and she finally told me you should go to the er because we don't even have a ct scan machine . If you have Tricare Prime insurance, make sure your primary doctor faxes the authorization before being seen. I'm in Piedmont on vacation from Colorado, was exposed to strep throat and within a few days wasn't feeling well. I called Tricare Prime, they told me my doctor needed to fax the authorization within 24 business hours of being seen, for insurance to pay to be seen. I called my doctors office, left a message with all of the information to fax the authorization. When I got to my appointment, they have a sign that says they need the authorization from your doctor for all Tricare Prime patients BEFORE being seen. I called my doctor in Colorado back and asked them to send it as soon as possible. I then asked the receptionist if there was any way I could be seen before the paperwork was received, I was told I would be billed if they didn't receive the authorization. Access Medical Center thankfully let me be seen by the PA without getting the authorization first. After my appointment, my doctors office called me to let me know they called Access Medical Center and the receptionist told my doctors office "don't bother faxing the paperwork, we got it taken care of". My doctors office knew that was not right and faxed the paperwork anyways. My thinking and the thoughts of family and friends I've since talked to about this, we believe Access Medical Center doesn't want to work with Tricare Prime, so they didn't want the paperwork faxed and I would have been stuck with the bill. I will say this on the plus side, once I was in the back and was seen, everyone there was amazing. I was diagnosed with strep throat and received the prescriptions needed to get better. Based on this alone, I would give 5 stars, but the Tricare Prime issue brings it down to 2 stars for me. As long as I've had Tricare Prime, they have never denied a claim and always paid right away. read more
