Access is a great place to go to for physical therapy. Not only are the physical therapists here wonderful, hardworking, loving, positive, motivational people, but they are also willing to go above and beyond to help their patients get better. Honestly, everyone who works here puts their hearts and souls into all that they do for their patients no matter how tired or ache they are themselves. I don't know how they do it, but they do and they are just amazing at it. My mom came to Access Physical Therapy & Wellness for her back and she loved it. She still talks about how Tracy and Amanda made her feel so much better than she did and how loving and easy going, yet professional, people they are. They also offered to let me shadow and volunteer because my mother mentioned to them that I had an interest in physical therapy. This past summer I accepted the offer and I LOVED IT. They are such warm and welcoming people; trust me I have seen/ shadowed many Physical therapists and it's just so different at Access. I'm at college writing this review two hours away, so that should give you a clear indication of how great it is there and how much I love and miss them all. After shadowing the physical therapists and volunteering for 75 + hours (because as mentioned earlier, I loved it at Access and of course I love them), I learned that not only is physical therapy about helping people, but it is also about devoting your life to making peoples' lives easier on a day to day basis, while creating a calm and caring setting for them, so that they can reach their full potential (sorry for the run-on, but it was necessary). Tracy (Dr. Urvater) and Amanda (Dr. Staffiero) and Erin the receptionist and all the other staff members are so down to earth and they truly care about the patient and his or her needs. Come here if you want highly skilled, highly qualified, and extremely caring physical therapists who will go out of their way to satisfy your needs as an individual. I had a painful lower back condition from lifting 20 bags of pine bark nuggets incorrectly from a dolly to my car. My orthopedist wrote me a prescription for 4 weeks of physical therapy. Access Physical Therapy was recommended by my physician and Amanda became my therapist. She first evaluated my condition and pain level. Then, she carefully planned a personal physical regimen for me to strengthen my back muscles. I saw her twice a week for 4 weeks. First, I warmed up for 8 minutes on a bike. Then she carefully explained to me and planned a series of coordinated exercises that would both relieve the pain and strengthen my back. After the bike, she used rubbing oil on my lower back to loosen my tight muscles. Not only did the exercises help my back, but Amanda monitored my progress carefully, ensuring I did not overdo the exercises. The exercises were well-thought out and after 4 weeks, she felt that I could do exercises at home to keep my back muscles loose and pain-free. I went to Access PT for my ankle which had caused pain for about 2 yrs. Within 3-4 weeks of stretching and strategic strengthening, it is 85-90% better. I would not have thought that much improvement was possible-especially within such a short time. I also went to them to help with a back injury which has caused me discomfort for 30 + years. The combination of pain management and PT have significantly decreased my need for OTC pain medication. I went to both Pomona and the New City offices. Because they keep accurate documentation, I was able to see different PT's seamlessly without having to start over with explanations and histories each time I worked with someone new. I worked with Adam at Access PT for many, many weeks for pre and post rehab related to back surgery and a knee replacement. He is very knowledgeable, patient, consistent, and effective! The other staff members are friendly, efficient, and make what can be painful work less so by providing ice, heat, encouragement etc. The facility is well organized and full of light from two walls of windows. Appointments were made well n advance and my sessions always began on time and I was observed and worked with by Adam for every session. Access is affiliated with The Hospital for Special Surgery where I had my knee replacement and they referred me to them. I recommend them without any reservations. read more

Dr. Urvater has helped me tremendously in a short amount of time. I came to her with arm, elbow and finger pain from overuse. She saw me twice a week for five weeks, and I'm almost pain-free now.
