I was informed that my insurance had to be verified, ( I had a prescription from a sports medicine Doctor) yet 28 hours later no confirmation. Called and spoke to a therapist and was told that my appointment was at 4:00pm yet made it for 8:00am plus no verification of insurance had been done. Too bad , their services were much better years ago, now nobody seems able to properly perform simple tasks .Needless to say , I cancelled the appointment . I was at Regis for short term rehab because of an amputation of the small toe on my left foot (March 2024), which had a previous amputation of the left big toe in 2012. I was at Regis to get stronger and functional to go back home; now under home health care as well. Ms Cruz helped me so much with even picking up my mail from my apartment's mailbox and bringing it to me at the center to making it easier to be released when I was strong enough to go home. The latest thing she helped me with was SSA (Social Security) wrongfully reduced my benefits because they stated that I was living at the care center but I was discharged on July 18th! So Ma Cruz sent SSA my discharge paper and a letter explaining that I was discharged on July 18th. I'm very grateful to her and some other kind, compassionate staff at Regis Care Center. It is also very well kept, from the grounds to the physical plant, which is quite well-maintained and CLEAN. I find most everyone professional, accommodating and respectful. In fact, most people I have encountered here have expressed that they "love this job." The primary reason for my being admitted here is for wound care. The wound care providers are like none I have ever seen. They are very conscientious and fastidious. I can't compliment them enough! The physical and occupational therapy provided is top-notch. Clients are not warehoused, nor are they left to linger between "sets." The entirety of the staff is mindful and take note of all of the clientele. This facility's ONLY downfall is in its delivery of food services. I am at a loss to understand how it can be so deficient when every other department is wholly on point. I dare say that if there was improvement in this department, they might NEVER experience a low census, as I would expect people to be knocking down the door to receive their care.

She works on you using TENs and another muscle simulator that does sound waves, followed by a massage and teaching you exercises that you can also do at home. Making appointments was very easy, and the therapists are very personable and friendly. Highly recommend if you need physical or occupational therapy. Bonus points for the business allowing Mt. St. Vincent students to intern while pursuing their degrees.

Other PT places I've succumbed to have been marked by tension in the air because the friendliness is superficial, the smiles glued on. Or the young PT staff gave me an exercise with a number of repetitions and then huddled in the corner to talk sports and their recent weekend frolics. Not so here: I feel an improvement and where I used to go home feeling depleted and pessimistic, I walk out of RSPT feeling stronger and hopeful. And aside from the congenial atmosphere, the exercises I've been asked (very sweetly) to do make sense. I don't see other patients given identical routines: the place is more like a cheerful gathering of neighbors (for a common purpose) than a factory. Tomorrow is my last visit of 2025, because Medicare will only cover 28 visits in a twelve-month period. My enthusiasm for this practice and the people in it has only increased. The atmosphere is friendly without artifice, not the professional friendliness of people who would really rather you go away so they can continue chatting about last night's sports event. You might not notice it if you knew me six months ago, but I feel stronger and more mobile. This is not, I assure you, because I religiously do the exercises at home. (Long pause here.) But it is because the people I work with, especially Francy, Melissa, now and again Alex, Hannah, and Annabelle, have understood what exercises might help me and have guided me through them. The pleasantness begins at the front desk: Arlinda, Madeline, Michael -- all genuinely solicitous and humane. I think they understand that people come to PT with a certain amount of pain, impairment, and the accompanying embarrassment. Because of the gentle-spirited, light-hearted owner, Alex Sherman, the feeling of uncritical welcoming acceptance is felt all through the practice. I am sad to leave -- it feels like the last day of summer camp -- but I hope to be back in 2026.

After years of denying that I needed a full left knee replacement I finally had the surgery done. I…read morewas reluctant to go to a rehab facility, but my friends convinced me that it was the best thing to do due to my home situation. Burke Rehabilitation was chosen, and it was one of the best decisions I could have made by taking the advice of those who cared about me. Burke is an amazing place, with a dedicated and caring staff. I have never been to a facility that was run with such precision. From the doctors, the nurses, the nurses' aides, to the PT and OT professionals, EVERYONE in this facility, had only one thing in mind . . . to assist and rehabilitate those in their charge. I especially want to recognize the nurses' aides who cared so deeply for the people they were helping, who comforted me when I had a difficult day and cheered me up when I was sad. Their "can-do" attitude was some of the best medicine available. I left Burke feeling that I had truly been to a place where commitment and caring was all that mattered. Thank you Burke for making me feel at home, cared for and valued.

I'm happy that I did not return for the recommended twice a week for a year as well because I also received a bill via email when they previously "confirmed" that I did not have to pay for the appointment both prior to me coming in and afterwards. When I called to inquire I received contradictory information and the last person chose to go a victim blaming route. I would not recommend this place and it's actually my first yelp review because I feel this strongly about it.

They do not send you or email you a monthly or weekly bill. Be careful when getting physical therapy here because you will be surprised by a large bill that no one in the office cares or knows about. Apparently they are not trained about billing they only know how to schedule an appointment. When you speak to Scott at billing he jokes around and laughs because he thinks it's funny because obviously he get a lot of these calls.

I worked closely with Jim who was professional, caring and competent. He was so fabulous that, if I could, I'd absolutely adopt him!! Sam, who evaluated and worked with me was incredible. Everyone, including Abe and all the assistants, were so very helpful. The facility is large, open and has a full range of equipment. My problem was probably the result of an injury even the doctors couldn't fully identify. But Jim managed to zone in on my problem and get be back to where I could run again. Something I never thought would happen. He was patient, watched carefully to see what worked (and what didn't), gave me home exercises and loads of incentive. Now I'm almost totally pain-free and able to run again. All thanks to Jim. Without any hesitation, I recommend Jim and Westchester Sports Physical Therapy.

It makes you wonder why there are always new people working there and it seems like a lot of people leave for whatever reason. I'm definitely looking to find somewhere that meets my needs and that has a physical therapist that cares more about patient care and less about getting bodies through the door.
