He finally showed up from his other job and took his sweet time registering me. Over the year and a half I had it stored there, they took payment regularly from my credit card, but I got the same crappy attitude when I updated my address over the phone. They sent me an email telling me they were going to expand the lot, and a release form holding them blameless for any damages to my trailer, with a weak assurance that they would be careful. I told the owner by telephone that if he could move it, he had my permission, but he WOULD indeed be responsible for any damage. He sulkily told me that he was perfectly capable of moving a trailer, but he couldn't answer for damage. I told him that that was what small claims court was FOR. When I showed up to get the trailer six months later, it was parked crookedly on mud, so it was hell to hook up, and someone had stolen the wooden top from the propane tank cover, which I found smashed in a puddle nearby. I had to call the operator again to come and sign off on the lease and give me my damage deposit back. He showed up in less than five minutes, probably because he had a bunch of cash spread out on a desk. Then he told me he did all his refunds by cheque, and couldn't simply pay me from his pile. The cheque arrived three months later. The lot rent was more than the lot I found in the Toronto area. His reviews must be written by family and friends. If you don't mind someone who does this in his spare time, gives you attitude at every turn, overcharges, and permits minor vandalism to your property, rush on over to Bay Self Storage.

In general, the storage rental business is run by a bunch of soulless, mercenary money grubbers and…read morethis one is no different. First they depersonalize it so they can hide behind excuses like, "It's the computer, there's nothing I can do about it." Then, greedily, they aren't satisfied with collecting the monthly rent but they squeeze an extra payment every year by making you pay every 4 weeks. I wonder how long before they charge the same for 3 weeks, probably not too long. So now your payment is on a different date every month and so easy to forget. They wait until you are a day behind and they ding you with late fees, no, sorry, they're not that bad, they wait 2 days. And then, at several more points through the month, they arbitrarily add on more and larger late fees, so that, if they were annualized you'd be paying over 100% interest on your "loan". They get around our toothless usury laws by calling them fees instead of interest. But don't worry, you won't have to endure this for a year or anywhere near that. If you have a bad month (or 4 weeks, or whatever), they start court proceedings to seize all the assets you have in storage and auction them off to the vultures that are circling. When I die I hope I go to heaven because I can't stand the thought of spending eternity with all these storage locker moguls..

Matt & Danielle arrived early and quickly packed all of our stuff onto the truck. Very friendly and very professional. Muden's was able to store our stuff for one week until our apartment in Halifax was ready and the crew that showed up (early again) was just as friendly and professional as the crew in Ontario and quickly unloaded the truck. Everything arrived safe and undamaged. The best part was that the final price was less than the quote. Exceptional service. They exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Muden's Moving and will definitely use them again.

I checked in every few weeks looking for a confirmation, and Terry told me - each time - it was coming in 2 days. 1 month before my move he stopped returning my calls. Thompson's GHOSTED me and left me scrambling. This is not the reputable company I thought it was. They are not equipped - both ethically and practically to take on your move from out of province. I am livid at the way they handled this. They say divorce, death and moving are the 3 most stressful things - use Thompson's and you'll put moving at the top of your list.

Everyone I spoke to was helpful and nice. When the men came to move my furniture, they were careful and professional. The price was also very reasonable. :( However, the truck was late by several days. It was very difficult to get a timeframe nailed down and it was very hard to get in touch with anyone at the company who had information. Of course, the truck being several days late is hardly an issue if you can expect it. It was simply inconvenient because I received very mixed messages about when it would arrive and couldn't plan accordingly. MY ADVICE: Use Thompson's moving, for sure, because you can trust them to be careful, professional and reasonably priced. But don't trust anyone at the company regarding timeframes. I think they do their best, but I think there's a lack of communication on the back end and I think the drivers just make up the route as they go.

Out of 4 appliances on the order, 1 was missing and we're told by the seller that it was marked delivered.

On the delivery day they rolled the fridge through my yard on a dolly and tore up the grass as the ground was very wet. Then they busted up the door frame trying to get the fridge into the house. I was assured that someone would contact me to fix the door but after several follow-up phone calls I'm being ignored. Stay as far away as possible. I plan on posting this negative review everywhere online so that I can warn others.
