In 1 case, my knee did well after PT for almost 8 years, but after I did a tear on a ski fall, Dr M. said now we need to do the "repairs". After the follow-up PT, I have never been better. Dr. Meli is the ONLY surgeon, who will defer surgery, if you are able to do repairs, using any alternative. I trust him with my care, 100%. Live with it or go through an invasive costly surgical procedure. Also plan upon months of therapy and recovery. Having been the victim of a botched surgical procedure in my youth, I'm really thorough about checking into who my surgeon is going to be and the facility in which the surgery is going to take place. After checking out everything I made an appointment with Dr.Ross Wodicka and couldn't have been more delighted. He's not only a great doctor but real good down to earth guy who carefully explains all your options and matters involving the procedure. Matter of fact, because of my age being 74, he wasn't cut happy and really wanted me to know what I was going to be put through in order to recover and whether I thought it would be worth it. Well, because I was unable to lift my martini glass to my lips (that's practically the definition of very serious), of course it was worth it. I might also add that Dr. Wodicka is a sports doctor specialist with a fellowship in a well-recognized sports orthopedic institute. So if one can trust the multimillion dollar shoulders and knees of professional athletes to him, I think I can trust mine to him too. Anyway my surgery went just fine. Matter of fact incredibly fine. I don't even have a surgical scar, never needed any pain meds and now near 8 months later 90% recovered and doing exceptionally well.
