AVOID ACCUTEMP LIKE THE PLAGUE. I have never had a company try to scam me with such audacity. I paid AccuTemp more than 10k for a full, brand-new AC system install in 2023 and the compressor on the outdoor unit died before a year and a half had passed. When I called them out to have it replaced, they wanted to charge me nearly $4,000 for the new compressor, even though it was still under warranty--$2,000 just for the "labor charge" to replace the part, plus nearly another $2,000 for the replacement freon. Their technician also told me that the reason that the compressor had shorted was probably because my electrical panel (which had been replaced three years earlier) was "old" and "full of corrosion," that if they replaced the compressor without replacing the electrical panel and possibly rewiring my whole house, I risked having the compressor die again. He promised he could have an electrician out later that day to talk to me about financing for the electrical work. He also swore that the $4,000 price tag included the "maximum discount" he could give me, with a deeper discount if I signed up for their maintenance plan. Using similar high-pressure sales tactics, they nearly convinced me to fork over the ludicrous amount that they were demanding with the implication that they might be able to fix the AC same day. Luckily, before any work could be done, I called another AC repair tech for a second opinion. That second AC repairman brought out an electrician as well, who told me (for free) that not only was my electrical panel perfectly fine, there was no way it could have had anything to do with the short on my compressor. They both told me that $2,000 for labor to install a home AC unit compressor was borderline criminal. The AC tech also told me that from his estimation, the reason the compressor had shorted was that (either through incompetence or malice) it had been loaded with too much freon at install, causing the compressor to overcharge and die far before it should have, probably also causing me to have higher electricity bills in the meantime. In the end, he charged me less than a third of what AccuTemp wanted me to shell out to repair their own shoddy work, and told me what I needed to actually do to maintain my system properly--much of which was at complete odds with what I'd been told by AccuTemp. I am so angry that I'm going to be paying off this AC system for the next few years, because who knows what they convinced me to replace in 2023 that was actually just fine? Who knows what else they overcharged me for?? I thought getting a full new system installation through a "reputable" company would mean that I wouldn't have to worry about it for a few years, but the opposite is true. The only "good" thing that I got out of AccuTemp was that they agreed to refund the tech call out, i.e. the guy who came to my house to try to scam me out of $4k and whatever they could have squeezed out of me for a new breaker box and whatever other electrical work they thought they could convince me to pay for. We pay for a routine maintenance contract, but our recent experience with a technician named Luke went far beyond bad customer service--it was an entirely hostile, disrespectful encounter fueled by racial discrimination and blatant political tension. From the moment he arrived, Luke's demeanor was extremely cold and aggressive. He treated my husband with a shocking level of disrespect, condescendingly remarking that our air conditioning unit looked like it was "being held together with tape." He then deliberately brought political tension into our home, launching into an uncalled-for lecture blaming a "previous President" for the rising cost of line-cleaning chemicals to justify a $300 quote. To use a routine, paid service call as a platform to create political division and project bias is completely unacceptable. The intersection of his dismissive, cold attitude and the forced political narrative felt deeply uncomfortable and discriminatory. We are paying customers, yet we are subjected to lectures and targeted hostility just to get our system serviced. My husband is a man who is rarely ever upset or shaken, but this technician's toxic behavior, insults, and the heavy tension he brought into our house completely ruined his evening and kept him from sleeping. We expect professional, objective, and respectful service--not political agendas, hostility, and bias. We will absolutely be canceling our maintenance agreement and taking our business elsewhere. read more

WARNING: DO NOT HIRE ACCUTEMP! We signed up for their monthly membership after repeated calls from them. They came to service our AC, and just a couple of weeks later, it started malfunctioning. They said we needed to replace the compressor and capacitor, over $4,000.‍ Now, only two months later, our AC is not working at all, and it's unbearably hot in the house. We have family over, including kids, and this is completely unacceptable. When we called for help, we were told our membership doesn't prioritize monthly members. The representative gave us attitude, mumbled nonsense, and offered no solutions. We asked to speak with a manager, who also had no solutions and was unwilling to meet us halfway, even though we were asking for reasonable help in an emergency. After that, I looked online and saw countless negative reviews from other customers. In our private community Facebook group, no one is happy with Accutemp. In fact, at least 32 homes, including ours, are switching to a different company next month. They are losing business because of their poor service. Bottom line: They will overcharge you, they will not fix issues properly, and once you're signed up for their monthly membership, they will not care when problems happen. DO NOT HIRE ACCUTEMP. Save yourself the frustration, money, and heat. read more

I had a very old unit that was completely shot. The design consultant Kerry showed me why the unit was so bad and why it needed to be replaced. I had AccuTemp do a FULL replacement (AC, heat, compressor outside and replacing the ancient 50 year old duct work!). The unit was leaking badly and the ducts were sweating and covered in mold. Anyway, Damien and his assistant worked all day and the new unit is simply a masterpiece! Damien seems to be a perfectionist! He explained what he did and showed me all the work. Everything is new and, of course it works perfectly! The old unit had to run 13 hours to keep the house temp at 78. The new unit keeps the house at 75 and only runs 4 hours to do it. AccuTemp went above and beyond. Like many people in south Louisiana in the last couple of months, I've been forced into home renovation by Mother Nature. I had to have the damage to my air conditioning system evaluated so that the insurance company could add it to the claim. Gabe was able to assess the repairs that the system would need and in a very short period of time, submit an estimate that I could easily forward to the insurance adjuster via email. Although I hadn't needed any HVAC work done to the house I own and have lived in since 2009, when it comes time to rebuild there's only one company I'll pick up the phone to call-- AccuTemp Heating and A/C. read more
